Was wondering around near the zoo and found this house with the statues. Not very usual to see black slaves depicted… at least in this part of the word

EDIT: my cultural lackings drove me to say this statues depict “slaves”. I saw half naked, muscular men, holding inhuman size weight… immediatly thought of slaved people. I welcome the callouts in the comments saying those are not inslaved individuals. Did not meant to sparkle unwelcomed debates.. although what is art if not provocation and debate…

I’m a foreigner who lived in the US for a few years and recently moved to the Netherlands, and I keep seeing this take that “Americans have no culture.”

Honestly, that never made sense to me.

When I was in the US, I heard Europeans joke about it a lot. But now that I’m in Europe, I see people constantly consuming American culture every day. Music, movies, TV shows, fashion, even slang. A lot of what’s considered “mainstream” here is heavily influenced by the US.

So I think the issue isn’t that the US has no culture. It’s that American culture is so global that people don’t recognize it as culture anymore. It just feels like the default.

At the same time, in Europe, culture is often associated with history. Old buildings, traditional food, centuries-old traditions. The US is newer, so it doesn’t fit that definition, and people dismiss it.

But newer doesn’t mean “no culture.” It just means a different kind of culture. After living in both places, the differences feel more like …

OMG guys, I cant wait to share my happiness. My friend suggested me a renovator for my bathroom and toilet. First I wanted him to do toilet so I can see how the change is. Hence my friend show me his before and after works and it was really nice, I just wanted him to do small toilet to see the effect of change. I want to share the difference with you guys and this is not normalll change!!! I didnt expect he is going to make it luxury bathroom! I am extremly happy and asked him to do my 2 other bathrooms. I will share those as well when it is finish.
