Hi all,
I moved to the Netherlands 3 years ago, and I genuinely love this place and appreciate it in many ways. I love the people, the values they have built, and the lifestyle I am able to have here. I have always tried to give back to the community I am part of, because I believe it should be a shared and collective experience. I can just keep going…
However, I am sick and tired of the healthcare system. I understand that it is subsidized by the government and that almost everyone has access to services, but that should not come at the expense of patients.
I recently got injured while kitesurfing in Brouwersdam. I twisted my knee, and it became swollen the following day. Like any sane person would, I went to the ER at OLVG Oost, (edit: it was huisartsenpost not ER my bad) which was already difficult because I was having trouble walking. The first thing they asked me was whether I had an appointment, which I obviously did not, because that is not how an ER works in most ā¦
Laugh all you want, but the information on those floppies can’t be hacked from half a world away.
Iāve seen and heard a lot of people talking about all the annoying kids on fatbikes, and rightfully so! Theyāre a fucking menace! But thereās honestly a demographic of cyclists that I donāt think gets enough hate as I think they should be gettingā¦
Middle aged men on speed pedelecs riding full speed on the fucking bicycle path!
The amount of times Iāve gotten blown past one of these boomers going 45 km/h on a narrow bike path is way too high and I donāt see anyone talking about this. Bitches, your bikes have a yellow license plate on it for a reason and thatās so you can drive on the road! But no, these selfish jerks want all the benefits of going ungodly high speeds without having to actually bother with sharing the road with cars as they should.
They definitely deserve more public shaming for being so fucking asociaal.
