I can’t be the only one who’s been a little more than annoyed by Spotify making content exclusive to their platform. I do not like their interface, and hate that some of the podcasts I’m used to listening to regularly were “bought out” and ONLY available through them.
I am getting so much satisfaction from watching them suffer.
Dear Daniel,
Throughout the pandemic, Spotify has given Science Vs the resources we needed to produce accurate content about the coronavirus. For more than six months, we’ve been encouraging our listeners to move to Spotify and telling them that this is the company that supports us to create factual episodes that are grounded in science. Spotify’s support of Joe Rogan’s podcast has felt like a slap in the face.
As Science Vs will show in an upcoming episode, during Rogan’s interview with Dr. Robert Malone, information about the vaccines is repeatedly taken out of context. There’s plenty of scientific evidence that contradicts some of the claims in the interview — but it’s nowhere to be found in the episode. Rogan’s show leaves the audience with a skewed and inaccurate view of the Covid-19 vaccines. And Spotify has done little to address this.
On Sunday, Spotify published its Platform Rules, but we do not think they go far enough.

Trailer | Who Killed Avril Lavigne?
literally based on the theory that Avril Lavigne was cloned and replaced in 2005
In 2022, angsty teen Derek Walker is a pop punk poser living in the past; but when his mysterious substitute teacher Dom Telonge sends him back to Warped Tour 2005 to stop the abduction and replacement of the pop punk princess, Avril Lavigne, his dreams of fulfilling his pop punk destiny become a reality. WHO KILLED AVRIL LAVIGNE? is a sci-fi comedy podcast, a send-up and celebration of the aughts with an original pop-punk score.
I know it’s very specific request. Looking for something which could be listened in bed and scratch that itch for logical differences in opinions.
I am not asking for things like The Joe Rogan Experience or Conan O Brian. Im asking for things like No Stupid Questions, Entry Level or Sibling Rivalry.
Looking for a podcast discussing weird and interesting events. “Truth stranger than fiction” kind of thing. Literally any theme from disasters to politics will do. Maybe you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Edit: Thank you so much for all the suggestions Some of the stuff is absolutely amazing
Was hoping for some suggestions for books for us to read. So far I’ve got Maus, 1984, The Great Gatsby, and Catcher in the Rye. Would have Of Mice and Men or To Kill a Mockingbird, but that is required reading at my school. Nothing too sexually graphic please
Edit: So, this blew up. Was honestly expecting just a few recommendations but now I have enough to sustain the club for years! Thanks everyone
I want to start building up a library of children’s books that inspire feelings of nostalgia, that teach unique lessons, that are actually fun to read over and over again. They can be old or new. I am familiar with the OG bestsellers, looking for something more off-the-beaten path.
Can be fiction or non-fiction, just looking for a main character past their mid 20’s who is trying to cope with or overcame feeling “behind” in hitting major life milestones. Can be in regards to career and/or relationships, living with parents etc.
Games like Prey, Soma, Subnautica, Bioshock. You wake up in an unfamiliar place (such as an abandoned facility) and you really have no idea what is going on. As your character explores the story is slowly unraveled to you. Preferable in first person.
So basically I want a game that has city builder elements but it’s not a city builder, it’s much more than that!
Terraria is kind of an example I suppose? All that there’s too little city building there haha.
Saw a ttrpg called Rippers, where you can graft parts from the monsters you you fight onto your own body. Each part has its own trade off. Is there a video game equivalent in some form?
I know Dark Sector had a hero that was slowly changing into a monster, but it was more aesthetic. Soul Sacrifice also had a mechanic where you could take a permanent hit to your stats in exchange for a strong power. Anything like that? Where you can gain dark powers at a terrible cost?
I dont get as much time as I would like to play games these days. The ones I’ve completed of late are always triple A titles, such as; lou2, rdr2, uncharted, god of war. The quality of them just amazes me.
Are there any titles I’ve missed in the last 5 years or more that I should really go back and play? If they’re part of a franchise, happy to play older games too, to get the full story, eg Metro games.
Cheers.
So I just watched Fury (2014) and got really into the idea of a game like that. A tank crew roguelike where each character is fleshed out and can just… die at any moment. Of course that doesn’t exist (or at least I couldn’t find it) but I played FTL, which has a kinda similar idea and now I’m trying to find more like this.
So basically, roguelike games where you get attached to your killable party members
