From your shortcut you can run another shortcut using either the Run Shortcut action or the shortcuts://run-shortcut?name=
URL scheme. What’s the difference?
First, please read the following sections of Apple’s Shortcuts User Guide:
Although Apple states “If you’d like to run one shortcut from another shortcut, use the Run Shortcut action instead of a URL scheme. You should only run shortcuts with a URL if you’re integrating from another app outside of Shortcuts,” let’s talk about what happens if you use the URL scheme in a shortcut.🙂
The biggest difference between the Run Shortcut action and the URL scheme is this — when you call shortcut B from shortcut A,
That’s why the …
Breaking news today as Adnan Syed was fully exonerated. He was in wrongfully convicted and the subject of several different podcasts. Laura Nirider’s Tweet
I’m in dire need of new podcasts to listen to while grinding video games. I often put YouTube video essays about various topics in the background and I love jumping down weird or intriguing rabbit holes, but since those are designed with a visual component I’ve started thinking I might be better off finding good podcasts
In general, I like shows that take a deep look at one thing. A five-part series going deep into the Kennedy assassination? Sign me up. A ridiculously thorough analysis of a bizarre YouTube channel with 200 subscribers? Sounds good. A detailed breakdown about how early archeology harmed countless historical items? Say no more. Etc etc., but I hope you get the gist haha, I can get interested in nearly anything if it’s presented right and made well enough to keep my attention
Keywords (not looking for ALL these but just things I tend to like): fact-based, investigative, niche/bizarre/creepy, Internet culture, mysteries, deep dives into rabbit holes, …
I need a good podcast that is Halloween style but not about recent crimes. Haunted buildings, paranormal activity, history of scary houses etc. I’m looking for that
“A three-part series from This American Life producer Nancy Updike. VWhen Rachel McKibbens’s father and brother died suddenly last fall, two weeks apart, from Covid, she’d had no idea her father was sick, and no idea her brother was dying. They were unvaccinated, but the story of what happened started long before that. All three episodes of “We Were Three,” a new show from Serial Productions and The New York Times, are available now wherever you get your podcasts.”
I got really into true crime podcasts during the pandemic, and I love the dynamics of two people talking and having fun while telling stories or information.
However, I feel like I’ve heard basically every true crime case at this point, so I want to branch out into other topics!
Can people recommend some podcasts that have the feel of My Favorite Murder, etc but talk about something else?
Some of my favorites are And That’s Why We Drink, Wine & Crime, National Park After Dark, Sinisterhood, Redhanded, and Scam Goddess. Sawbones and Beach Too Sandy Water Too Wet are examples of similar podcasts with non-true crime topics.
I really only want podcasts that center non-dudes. All women or nonbinary people is preferred, but mostly just no all dudes talking shows. Also, prefer no interview shows. Thanks!!
Im a big fan of history podcasts and these guys have the credentials to talk about the subject matter, have a manner of doing so that makes it interesting, and have gotten very good at it. First couple episodes are admittedly tough as they are not podcasters, and they weren’t comfortable, but it’s been going over a year now and they’ve found their footing and it’s become really good.
A college website recommended them as well recently and wanted to help push them as well as I really want these guys to continue making this show and the more listeners they have, the higher the chance of that happening. https://www.hercampus.com/school/cu-boulder/binge-worthy-podcasts-for-podcast-haters/
But quick breakdown, three late 30/ early 40 ER docs bring up either specific situations in history, or general ideas, uses of things, or problems people had to face during the dark times of medicine and how they handled them. Often start the podcast with a skit and then get into …
Doesn’t matter the genre, topic, lenght.
hi! i’m new to this subreddit, but i’m here because i’m wanting book recs for a very specific type of sci-fi:
i want sci-fi that is not really about action in any capacity. i want stuff like lengthy descriptions of alien flora and fauna, landscapes, etc. maybe something like a human surveying a new world? character-driven/relationship-based stories are fine, but mostly i just want something slow with big words and fancy, drawn out writing. and the more realistic the better. less like crazy portals and lazer guns and more like simple space exploration. like, what most people don’t want from sci-fi lmao.
Hello all! I am looking for scientific books on concepts such as infinity from a mathematical point of view or black holes. Actually, the topic is not so important to me as long as it is scientific and trippy if that makes sense. I didn’t study anything in this direction but I have solid basic knowledge in mathematics and physics. I am looking forward to your recommendations
Hi everyone! I’m in search of books in a post-post-apocalyptic setting. Like, there was a futuristic society, then the world as it was known ended for some reason, then a lot of time passed, and only then the actual story took place.
The closest references I have is:
I know it’s a strange request but maybe one of you, fellow readers, knows anything similar. I would really appreciate any ideas. Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad English)
I have read some dark nonfiction as I’m not too much a fan of novels or fiction horror. In the spirit of Halloween, what are some that you have read?
As title says, I’m looking for books on self help like Atomic Habit or making money like Psychology of Money.
I have a friend who comes from a somewhat poorer background and she is obsessed with trying to work her way out of poverty. She is young and still somewhat unsure what or how to achieve this.
Her birthday is coming and I want to give her some books on this topic as a gift.
Thank you
It can be a shitty as possible, the only thing I’m looking for it a game with a LOT of bees to collect. If anything, the worse the better.
UPDATE: My brother’s currently playing “I commissioned some bees” right now and he said, and I quote, “this is the greatest game of all time”. Thank you noble heroes for helping my brother find the perfect game for his bee collecting needs.
(Warning: Long rant)
I am over 50 years old. I like games for their gameplay and not for emotions and stories (I have movies for that). I play mostly on XBox (Series X) and occasionally on the Steam Deck and Linux PC (with an absolutely shitty GPU). I am looking for games that offer freedom to do as much as possible, in my own way, without getting bogged down by scripted missions / mandatory tutorials / long cutscenes and without being “held by the hand”.
Some examples of such great games:
Elden Ring: You can explore at least half of the (gigantic) map without killing a single boss or even fighting any enemy (this is amazing!). The vast majority of game mechanics are available to you after you meet the witch at the beginning of the game. The tutorial is short and skippable. There is lots of lore but most of it is hidden in the item descriptions which you can discover at your own pace. There are only a few cutscenes.
Factorio: It has lots of extremely complex mechanics. …
Waht games would you recommend all my life i players cs 1.6, cs go (as much as i could), LoL because nothing really worked i somehow managed to finish dishonored 1 and i think i’m gonna play dishonored 2 now. Both Single and Multiplayer games what would you recommend based on this?
We’ve all played those games where humanity is fighting an alien with technological superiority, are there any games where you, the player, are the technologically superior one?
Per title. Thanks.
