Hi, after the recent updates from Apple App Store that shows more ads in the whole store, I made this simple shortcut that allows you to search an app and shows the results WITHOUT ADS. https://i.imgur.com/xCZMTKX.jpg
Video Demo Imgur UPDATE v1.1.1: (Thank you u/shoculad) https://i.imgur.com/12gVB6q.jpg I added a main menu for the Updates App tab, I just kick out the App Store app so I don’t want to open anymore, this was the main reason I opened. Here to download the v1.1.1
—— So you can easy see the results and jump direct to the app store.
It looks like you can change what the action button does based on the current watch face.
For example, if the active watch face is the first one then start a workout. Otherwise start a timer.
(It goes without saying that you have to set the action button to run this shortcut)
Hi everyone, I made this shortut because I love the DuckDuckGo email privacy service a lot and more than hidemyemail mostly because you can 1. Deactivate email addresses from within emails rather than navigating to icloud settings 2. And you can also generate emails more easily outside safari
However, as it stands the only place you can generate duck emails is in a browser with the duck duck go extension installed. And this extension locks your default search engine to duck.com and for that reason can’t have it installed.
Sooo this shortcut adds almost the exact same functionality and now works anywhere you can click it! It works especially well as a service menu shortcut because you can basically right click anywhere and paste a new duck email.
Hope ya like it :)

Edit: If you don’t already have an @duck email account you can sign up by installing the chrome extension or downloading the app …
Just make an automation for what should happen when you turn the air plane mode on and add all these components 👌
But there’s still a slight problem:
When I now add a shortcut on my watch to turn the airplane mode on and one (or ten) second(s) later turn it off again, the automation on my phone won’t run for some reason. But when I manually turn on the airplane mode on my watch, it’ll work just fine. I don’t get it 🙈😂 Please help
I love a podcast whether fictional or not that can really bust my gut, just keel me over in a fit of giggles, absolutely get my funny bone going. I listen to many a podcast that has cracked one out of me such as Never Rad Miscellany, greater Boston and The truth. I was wondering though
everyone can laugh at different things and the things that make us happy vary so much, what podcast or podcast moment made you lose your absolute fucking mind?
comment below with a show you recommend! What makes your laughter come out?
Bonus points for the episode title or link so I can check it out!
Title says it all. I like to learn by listening and there’s no way I’m going to make it through the actual book.
One of my early discoveries that are still delivering untill today. It’s not about spreading conspiracy theories as the name might suggest. To the contrary, it’s about educating about past historical myths and cleaning them up. I love it, cause it aims to teach their audience how to spot bad-faith history in the process of beeing entertaining and frankly quite charming. The artwork is great, love the music and the host is doing really really good.
A rather new trilogy about the first manned flight is recommended by me but there is much more.
*EDIT: hysterical->historical (lol)
I’m pretty sure this was an NPR podcast like All Things Considered or Radiolab, one of those shows that does 2-4 stories per episodes on the same subject. The one story I remember was a woman who took weight loss drugs that was basically speed. She talked about how so much better her life was skinny, how her boyfriend didn’t remember them meeting when she was fat, how people gave her groceries for free when she forgot her wallet, etc. She also talked about extreme surgery to take care of her loose skin. The story ended with her saying she’ll never go back and how she can’t get a prescription for weight loss drugs anymore and has to resort to illegal means. I think it made a bit of a splash when it came out.
Anyone know the episode I’m talking about? Thanks!
Those books where you enjoy and savor every second.
EDIT: Wow! I wasn’t expecting so many comments! Thank you so much everyone for the suggestions! This made my day! :D
I want to get my death row pen pal a book but unsure of which one.
Prior to getting incarcerated, he was a country boy who liked to hunt and fish and live a simple life, so perhaps something in that genre.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙏
Hi everyone!
A family member of mine has recently been incarcerated for 5 years.
His reading comprehension level isn’t great, but he specifically asked me to send him some books to read. I’ve rather cheekily already sent him a dictionary 🤣 so worst case scenario, he can cross reference that!
Looking for any and all suggestions - any genre. Books you love and swear by and find yourself getting lost in. He is in federal prison, so that 5 years he’s in for is accounting for good time - so he has quite a while to go!
Thanks all ❤️
ETA: I can’t reply to everyone, but thank you all so much for the suggestions - especially the small advice here and there I may not have thought about! I love that all the suggestions cover a broad range of topics. This gives me so much to start with, and I will DEFINITELY be suggesting a read-along at some point!
You know the classic female erotica fantasy? Rich, tall and handsome male lead taking care of a not particularly interesting female lead?
Are there any books like that for us guys? Hot, confident, successful career woman seducing a younger male lead (maybe even keeping him as a pet/slave).
I’m ashamed to even ask something this specific but thanks in advance anyway guys…
Edit: ty all for the lovely suggestions! I’ll try to answer to some more comment after i’m done with work later. You guys are awesome!
I love that trope where a grumpy/traumatised guy unofficially adopts a kid and they just go on an adventure together or something and he just begrudgingly becomes a father figure, so I’d like to find more books like that. I’ve read The Vagrant by Peter Newman and really liked it so that kind of thing :)) I’d prefer it to be fantasy/ sci-fi but I don’t mind contemporary. I’m not interested in romance at all and I’d rather the book not have any kind of major/sub-plot romance with the main character.
Edit: yes I have seen Up 😀
I love books where I go in thinking “this sounds like it would be boring but I guess I’ll give it a shot” and it turns out to be one of my favorite books. I think it shows the talents of a good writer when they can make what might seem like a boring concept into a book where you can’t stop reading.
Some books that I thought would be boring but ended up absolutely loving
Remains of the day - a book about an old English butler
East of Eden (my all time favorite book)- about 2 farming families in the late 1800s/ early 1900s in California
A gentleman in Moscow - about a guy under house arrest in a fancy hotel
Stoner - probably the best example, it just follows the life of an English professor in Missouri and its incredible
So I recently started playing the original Diablo 2 and I’m having a great time with it, there’s nothing at all wrong with it. It’s just aged. This got me thinking, “I wonder what other older games are out there waiting to be played”.
I’ll recommend one of my own to begin. The Witcher, the original one. The graphics are definitely a product of their time but it was criticized heavily for it’s jankiness and controls. However I would still recommend this game in 2022 as once you get passed all the jank there is a gem waiting to be played.
What other games met this criteria?
Bonus points to old/broken games that can be fixed/improved by mods WITHOUT ruining the vanilla experience.
Edit: Literally just logged into GoG Galaxy (GoG.com version of Steam) and they gave me Witcher 1 for free for linking my email haha. GO GET THE FREEBIE!
Just looking for nice looking, cozy farming games with nice art but are not pixel or 3d.
I’m craving a game set in prehistoric times where I can play as a caveman or something of the sort. Preferably, I would be controlling my own character instead of managing a tribe population with no defined personalities.
I’m not interested in stuff like Horizon Zero Dawn ‘cause those cavemen are too smart lol
Quite often ive seen this synonymised with “a lot of dialogue” (e.g., Witcher 3), but I’m more interested in the quality of dialogue itself.
Something that is reminiscent of good writing in movie dialogue or a book. Too often the dialogue in video games feels bland, bloated or just badly written. Show me where to find tight, witty and soulful.
I’ve mainly found this more in short indie titles, but if there’s any AAA (or anything in between) that has this, I’d be interested to find out.
I know there’s a lot out there and I’ve played a couple but I don’t know which is the best for it.
Also yes, Rock and Stone.
I’m looking for a game where you can basically become anyone or anything. Meaning, if I want to learn how to blacksmith and then become the local blacksmith and set my own prices for the community to purchase from me, or maybe a just want to farm and take my crop to town for sale? Maybe I want to enter the Royal jousting tourney or something. You get where I’m going? But anything you end up doing you’d have to actually learn a skill in game to be able to do. Thanks if anyone knows anything. I would prefer already released and free to play if that’s possible.
Edit: Thank you to every single one of you for being so helpful and informative! <3
