Hi! I’m in search of a good podcast about Native American history before white settlers? All the ones I find are about the interactions / wars with European settlers. I’d like to learn about their culture / interactions / life / spirituality before that. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Some thing like:
I’m not a fan of:
No new episodes after talking about Season 3 but they had an interview with creator David Simon so assumed they were coming back???
I have a concussion, I can’t watch tv but I’m able to listen to sitcoms like Seinfeld, IT crowd, Futurama. I’m looking for podcasts that I can listen to while staring at the wall. I can’t handle any crime investigation shows or anything where I need to think. So anything that is easy listening, funny, interesting conversations 1 on 1. I would really appreciate it!
Thanks! I will check back later because I can’t be on my phone long either. 🤕
Edit Thank you so much! I took screenshots of every suggestion. This will definitely keep me entertained!
Edit: Thanks for all the recommendations. I have plenty of time to kill so I’ll try to listen to each one.
I’m just so sick of hearing about serial killers, but I’m having trouble finding podcasts that balance spooky topics with not talking about murder trials every single episode. I just recently discovered Swindled & love it! I’ve been listening to it as I fall asleep and am starting to run out of new episodes. Anything similar I could try? I prefer less banter & no yelling/shrieking/giggling between hosts
I’m looking for some educational podcasts - any topic! - that are similar in style to Decoder Ring or 99% Invisible. Informative, engaging, not dry, but also not comedic or too banter-y.
My kiddo is 12 and her favorite books tend to be about animals and mythology. She struggles to pick up subtext, so something straightforward about kids being radicalized through YouTube or other social media would be fantastic, but anything about propaganda would be great. She wouldn’t be offended by a picture book, but can read at a high school level, so really anything goes so long as it isn’t high-level academic or adult content. Fiction or nonfiction. Thanks!
Edit: Thank you all so much; I can’t wait to read through all these replies that came in while I’ve been at work!
Edit 2: I really appreciate all of you and will be taking my time reading (and watching) as much as I can that you’ve suggested and talking to her about the ones that she might not yet be ready to read on her own. We had a great discussion tonight about nuance and assumptions.
Extremely niche request ik lol but I think it’d be fun to read about. I’d appreciate any recommendation even remotely relevant to my post. thank you.
Really struggling with my decision. Even though I know it was the right thing, it’s still tough to leave a career. Just looking for comfort right now.
Everyone has heard of Misery, The Stand, and It. What are his lesser known standalone masterpieces?
I love stories where bit by bit is revealed but they only lead to new mysteries leading up to a big explanation at the end.
I want something either extremely horrifying or depressing that doesn’t rely on empathy to leave me utterly broken down at the end. Too many recommendations rely on feeling bad for characters that just aren’t likable in the first place. I would prefer something more introspective that changes the way I view the world.
Looking for a game on PC where you play or can play as the villain or overall terrible guy
Best if not via sandboxing stuff where it doesn’t really that much affect you like stealing everything from everyone in skyrim etc but rather where it affects story
I already covered Kotor 1 and 2, also Tyranny
EDIT:Not a villain in comedic way like Dungeon Kepper or Overlord…
Hi, I’m searching for any type of game that gives off isolated, lonely or even unnerving vibes. Very much like Portal for example.
Any ideas? Thanks!
*Thanks for the suggestions so far, I’m trying to check them all out!
I’m completely addicted to Vampire Survivors and I’m looking for game that feel similar, where through grinding you become stupidly overpowered and break the game.
Games that I’ve player that I think fit this premise:
-Vampire Survivors -Hades -Dead Cells
Seriously, I’m tired of putting in 700 hours minimum for a game.
So hit me up with nice games that doesn’t take to long to play/learn/enjoy put away.
Anything along these lines of games…
Call of Juarez Gunslinger, bulletstorm, The swapper, limbo, walking dead season 1, derelicta, portal, SWAT 4, aliens Vs predator, the fall, steam world heist, brothers a tale of two sons, Resident evil games etc etc!
I’ve been playing Sable recently and I really love the laid back atmosphere and lack of big world events, just enjoying the feeling of exploring and being in another world and not needing to save it. It reminds me in a strange way of one of my favourite childhood gba rpg games Summon Night Swordcraft Story, where it’s primarily about exploring, crafting, making friends and competing in a tournament. The best term I can really think of to describe this feeling is ‘slice of life’.
I’m aware that the ‘life sim’ games exist, however they mainly seem to be based around farming or town building (eg stardew valley, my time at portia, dinkum, littlewood etc) and it’s not quite what I’m looking for right now. (I’ve played quite a few of those and don’t particularly care for them) Instead I’m looking for games that aren’t based around day night cycles, energy meters, and a constantly ticking calandar, but do give you …
Hey,
I’m looking for games that are played solo where you are the serial killer, hunting preys etc.
Basically think of it as being the killer in Dead by Daylight (but offline only) or being the Nemesis/Dimitrescu in Resident Evil
