Update: If you want a version that changes the shortcut depending on which app is open (on-screen), check this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/zb15il/make_ioss_back_doubletap_or_tripletap_change/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Original post: Since iOS’s back tap feature is the quickest and least intrusive way to trigger a shortcut manually (as far as I’m aware), I figured it’d be useful to be able to change its assigned function dynamically (as long as the shortcuts app can do the actions that you want).
For my current use, you need the 2 shortcuts below.
In your device’s general settings, point iOS’s back tap feature to run this shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/a0f208b6a72d4eb3a19f4804c2162f1a
And then use this second shortcut to change which of your shortcuts should be run with the back tap (just modify the “List” action with your shortcut’s actual names) …
so im sure you can guess what the title means lol. im 19F and about every couples of days a random guy will send me something. i dont like just blocking them- i like revenge. lol.
is there anyway that i can spam nasty pictures of my choosing to someone over snapchat using shortcuts?? (i know absolutely nothing abt this app lol- i have one automation)
About 5 years ago I was in a pretty dark place, and a podcast came across my feed that was about grief counseling for children. They had several children talking matter-of-factly about the death of their parents, including several by suicide. Listening to this podcast made me step back and look at the pain my death would cause and I made the conscious decision I couldn’t do that to my children. I’ve looked several times for the episode, and have gotten nowhere. I think it may have been an NPR podcast but I’m not sure.
I’m about to take off on a road trip and want something funny that will keep me on edge/awake with unexpected or bizarre/weird humor. Can be improv, fiction, interviews, really anything where I can expect to be caught off guard with laughter. I have really enjoyed Welcome to Night Vale, Whatever Happened to Pizza at McDonald’s and Hollywood Handbook. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I, a 35yo human, have made the decision, of equal parts love and foolishness, to join my folks for their yearly drive from NJ to Miami for xmas. I listen to a lot podcasts and I’m looking forward to sharing some of them with my parents. They’re both a bit reserved and don’t really like anything with a lot of curses, sex, general lewdness- you get the idea. My father loves history stuff. My mom loves the Jad and Robert era of RadioLab. I’m looking for recommendations for shows that are fun and interesting with hosts who don’t curse often. I want to introduce them to 99PI but I’m drawing a blank on more shows to fill the long drive. TIA!
My top three favourite podcasts are:
Does anyone else love these? I feel like this genre is quite specific & I can’t get enough of it.
What are your standout podcasts of 2022? Best single episodes? Best serialized show? Best true crime podcasts? Best fiction podcast? Best docs? Your year’s end playlist wrap?
Post and discuss them here.
As always, please refrain from self-promotion.
This is weird. I have ADHD. At night I have trouble falling asleep because my mind is all over the place and doesn’t shut up. I’ve battled that by falling asleep to podcasts. The thing is it has to be interesting enough that I’m focused on it, but not super energetic or random loud noises that might wake me if I fall asleep. I’ve listened to all of ologies and I love it, but now my brain is like you’ve listened to this for 6 months straight we’re not paying attention anymore. Need something that ranges 30min-1hour long. I’m fine with most genres. No politics, I’m fine with true crime long as it doesn’t involve kids. Educational, tech, self-help, paranormal, conspiracies etc, all great. I’ve tried sleep meditations, sleep stories, sleep sounds, etc but they’re too boring and don’t work, I need something interesting. I typically use Spotify. Thanks in advance
Edit to add: thank y’all for all your comments I …

I’m sponsoring a local family in need for Christmas. Would love to get the two girls a series of books to read all winter. Was thinking Harry Potter but interested in other suggestions.
Eta: thank you so much everyone. A lot of great suggestions! For everyone asking, I don’t know anything about the kids’ interests just how old they are and that they are girls.
hey guys! so i’m looking for a book that will help me get more comfortable with my sexuality. (im a bi cis female in a hetero relationship) not in the sense of sexual orientation, but more like. a book that’s aimed at helping people get comfortable with the idea of themselves as a sexual being, how to let go of shame, how to discover what one likes, etc.
i wasn’t raised religious, i don’t know why i’ve got weird hang ups. but i am a psych major so i’d like to read about the science of sexuality maybe?
hope this makes sense, lol
Suggest me some novel that you consider weird but your favourite at the same time
EDIT: wow, thank you everyone for making time to answer!
This is kinda weird but I’m autistic and I love doing paperwork. It helps me relax. I’m not able to get a job right now so I’m honestly just looking for a game that lets me simulate that. I’ve already played Papers Please :)
First off, I can install files as long as the installation doesn’t take up a full screen like older game installers. So both browser games and regular game suggestions are welcome, but browser games are preferential for hiding the evidence. My pc faces a wall so unless someone walks up behind I’m fairly safe, just have to be able to play in either a small (imagine 1/8th of the screen) & easily closable (just click out) window or play something that is just a bunch of text & inconspicuous.
I’ve played text based strategy games like Universal Paperclips and had as much of a blast as you can while “working”. A Dark Room was also good but I got bored pretty quickly and couldn’t really focus on the journey mechanic because I have to be able to be AFK at any moment. So nothing that will penalize me if I have to click out of the window immediately without pausing or saving.
Clicker and Idle games are fine, but I’m pretty tired of them at …
In Skyrim there’s a whole slew of legendary level items(the Daedric artifacts spring to mind) that just stop being effective at higher levels. Like, why did I seek out this great weapon of legend, just to replace it with one I forged myself?
I’m a casual gamer(like a few hours after work two or three days a week…) so high difficulty games(or games where you can’t adjust the difficulty) aren’t for me. I also prefer single player focused experiences.
I’m interested in playing a game that will tug on my heartstrings and make me cry, something with a lot of emotional weight.
As the title reads. I am looking for a game that i can spend multiple thousand hours in. Something in the style Black dessert or WOW, like a mmorpg
