This trick starts with a Nitpick mount, which I talk about here https://youtu.be/dTgG7b5asw4?si=iQmI0wx1gaVrGjJ7
Using a copper plated Theodore yo-yo.
Music is Dolly Parton performing “Whats Up?”
Trying to put together a new combo. Is it going well? It’s just going 😅.
Cross armed tension hook? I think? lol Idk I was messing around and found I can consecutively land this! I really like it. Had to start wearing a glove cuz my throw finger is starting to crack and bleed 🥲
You recommended this podcast last week (and many, many more - thanks!)…And I fell down the rabbit hole!
So, I just wanted to check back with you all and thank you again for this recommendation - I asked for gripping and you delivered 😌🫰
I found Love Trapped from a rec on this sub and became hooked instantly. Any recs for what to listen to next? Doesn’t have to be similar in topic or genre. Thanks in advance for your help!
Looking for a podcast that tells either listener write ins or reddit stories that are disturbing or unnerving. Examples are people uncovering a dark secret, someone going through a disturbing event, experiencing a near death event, etc
I just discovered What to carry, what to burn and binged all the available episodes. I’m looking for recommendations of similiar podcasts that focus on survival stories to fill the void while I wait for new episodes. I was surprised how much I loved this podcast!
I know I’m incredibly late to the game, but I just listened to Hunting Warhead while driving from Northern to Southern border and thought it was phenomenal. Besides that the only dabbling I’ve done is some of the Hassan Minaj episodes and Pod Save the World/America. We just moved into my partner’s grandparents old home and while I’m not set to start a new job until March, I have to clean, repair, update and decorate it all by myself for at least the rest of the year due tl my partner will be working out of town. That being said I’ve got hours upon hours of manual unskilled labor ahead of me and I desperately need things to listen to that is engaging and worthwhile for my chaotic and curious brain.
I am open to all genres, I really just enjoy learning and being knowledgeable about stuff. History, social issues, conflicts and genocides and really well “deep dives” about virtually anything are things I believe I would enjoy, but I’ll take any and all recommendations. If you can also put …
I’m looking for a cozy podcast that can be informative, nerdy or thought provoking. I’m a bit sick of consuming overly American content that I can’t relate to. I’m not for people who yell into the mic and are overly animated for no reason. And I don’t appreciate podcasts where you can tell the whole purpose is to create 60 second clips for their socials.
I like Darknet Diaries and 99% Invisible.
Any recommendations?
Edit: WOW! So many recommendations. I really appreciate all of you ❤️. This was one thing I just couldn’t crack, kept on finding shit podcasts. Will comment as I go through the list!
I have never cried while reading, i’m wondering if its possible. Give me some books that you think could make that happen :)
I’m not really looking for books similar to Walden, or even books that critique the modern world, but rather books that make you.. mad, frustrated or even jealous when you start thinking about the reality we live in.
No other piece of literature has made me think and feel so much (mostly about technology and our fast pace of living)
Just finished Me Talk Pretty One Day and while i enjoyed it and i laughed out loud a few times, i can’t help but feel like i didn’t relate too much to the essays, personally. It feels deeply Gen X coded. Like my crotchety older brother telling me about the good old days.
Is there a writer that writes in a similar style and format but has stories that are more geared toward people reaching adolescence around Y2K? Think less stories about NYC in the early 90s and more stories about nuking your parent’s desktop computer trying to download porn from LimeWire (that couldn’t have just been me, right?)
I’m craving something (fictional) written from the perspective of strange/weird/creepy/gross/off-putting/slightly (or completely) unhinged women.
For example, I’ve really enjoyed:
A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers (about a food critic who kills and eats her lovers)
Sky Daddy by Kate Folk (about a woman who’s sexually attracted to planes and believes she’s destined to “marry” on by dying in a plane crash)
Boy Parts by Eliza Clark (about a sociopathic and highly manipulative artist who photographs young men)
Bunny by Mona Awad (about a uni student studying creative writing who falls into a surreal and supernatural clique)
Y’all, I am having a TOUGH go at it these days. I’d like a distraction and a reminder that it can always get worse. Can you suggest a book where someone has issues that are worse than mine?
Edit: WOW y’all really came through for me. I was not expecting so many suggestions. My TBR list just expanded tenfold!
I’m a trans man, and it’s occurred to me that I don’t think I’ve read anything with characters who are also trans.
I’m down to read any genre, though I mostly read sci-fi and horror.
I’m also down to read characters who are trans from any direction, but bonus points for transmasc characters since those would be the most relatable to me (for obvious reasons).
edit:
Thanks for all the suggestions so far! I’ve definitely got a lot of stuff to check out.
Just adding because I realized I forgot to clarify earlier— I don’t necessarily mind if being trans is a Big Plot Point in the story itself and am mostly just looking for something where the transness is more so treated as a simple fact about the character rather than any source of prolonged drama.
Need suggestions want co-op the more gooner the better. Tryna bond with the homeboy let’s hear some good suggestions. Preferably on steam.
What are some games where you are, without any doubt and without any “right for the wrong reasons” story, the bad guy. Everything you do in the game is making the situation worse and is objectively the wrong way to go about it?
I haven’t really felt that addiction to games since 2023 which would’ve been World Of Warcraft. I love brutal games though at the same time I love story driven games. I also used to be really into economy/factory type games. I haven’t felt that gaming spark in years, that feeling of coming home from school or work and just wanting to hop on the game. Please recommend a game I’ll fall in love with that you were absolutely addicted to.
I play mostly on PC.
You know the type of thing I mean- where you spend a game doing a bunch of side quests that might seem unrelated to the main story at first and then at the end it all comes together and a bunch of people are like “and you’ve got me sword at your side sir knight sir!!”
The effect it has on the end can be in varying degrees of importance, from a whole new ending to just some help with the final boss
Some examples off the top of my head are:
-Baldurs gate 3
-Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC
-Undertale (not exactly but the epilogue is basically this and the base idea is kind of what the whole game is about)
Looking for mechanics that seemed pointless, repetitive, or annoying at first but actually made the game better.
Hey everyone, could you reccomend me some games that feels alive ? Like you can just wandering aroung and feel like you can live there and the npcs just lives on their own ? Something like Rdr2. I didnt play Gta or kcd, is it a good choice ? With kcd 1 I played like one hour but it felt so difficult for me, i dont know, maybe it was overwhelming with the inventory etc..
Whats your favorite ones to play ? Thank you
Never miss a text from your spouse again without getting an annoying notification from shortcuts every time they message.
This setup has been a lifesaver for me since my watch vibrate is never strong enough and I miss texts all the time.
edit: This was created as I have an Apple Watch and an iPhone, all notifications go to the watch and not the phone, without any possible way of customizing the watch notifications. This makes both buzz, and adds another layer I cannot miss.
With iOS 27, you can now set automations from notifications, without a shortcuts notification.
The images are 3 separate shortcuts, and here’s what they do.
First Shortcut: Everytime I get a notification from messages, it checks if my phone is locked. If my phone is locked it checks if the title of the notification is my wife’s name, if it is, it runs my second shortcut and vibrates my phone 5 times (so my phone and watch vibrate when she texts).
edit: you need the Actions app for this checking locked phone …
This has to be one of my favorite shortcuts yet. I keep my phone on a MagSafe charger at my desk and in the car all day, but I only want a full 100% charge overnight. This automation keeps my battery from constantly sitting between 80–100% for no reason!
I wonder if you guys have any that I’ve never happened across!
Hey r/shortcuts!
We just released a major update to Notify! that lets you create alerts and Live Activities directly from any iOS Shortcut automation. This is in addition to the alerts you can already send via Shortcuts.
Live Activities can display a progress bar, percentage, timer, or status. For example, you could display a Live Activity on your iPhone showing your iPad’s battery percentage when it runs low, or automatically update a Live Activity with an informational panel whenever you receive an email.
If you use an external script, you can even have a remote Live Activity trigger a Shortcut. We have an API built out here: https://getnotifyapp.com/apidocs/ and a user friendly builder that gives you the data to put in …

This shortcut has worked well for me so far. Like most, I sometimes veg out on my go to apps late at night or the weekend when I could actually be a smidge more productive on my phone. It’s not meant to get you off your phone but points you to your ToDo list to knockoff those things like finishing your budget, ordering an item you just ran out of, unsubscribing to junk emails, updating your movie list, etc……just be more productive with your time.
Triggered by opening certain apps. Currently set to Reddit, FB, X, YT, Instagram. When you open the triggering app today’s App activity pops up reminding you how long you have been on your phone today. Hit done then the question pops up allowing you to go to your selected ToDo list or continue into the original app.
This is a Mac or iOS shortcut that takes text or spoken input. It turns up the volume to 100% and chimes every 5 minutes to announce the current time and how much time you have left. You can give it either a specific time you need to leave or a specific number of minutes. It doesn’t need to be a round number; I tested it to make sure that if I needed to leave in 7 minutes, the shortcut wouldn’t choke.
I am not the best at shortcuts, so this took a lot of fighting, but if you have any problems or suggestions for improvements, please let me know.
