Hello people, this is an easy tutorial on how to integrate a Menu as a part of your homescreen for a clean iPhone experience.
Recently I’ve built a shortcut that allows me to enter my daily expenses to a Google spreadsheet.
This shortcut asks me for various inputs and then send the data to my spreadsheet.
I also wanted to create an automation that let’s me do the same thing (without asking for user input) when I use Apple Pay.
I realized that I would end with 2 almost identical shortcuts. So I decided to rework everything and create 3 different shortcuts:
a shortcuts that takes a JSON as input and send data to my google spreadsheet
a shortcuts that asks user for inputs (amount, description, etc.), and then calls shortcut nr.1 giving JSON as input
a shortcuts that handle the automation and then calls shortcut nr.1 giving JSON as input
I find this structure far better and more maintainable!
I also did a similar thing with 2 shortcuts that I wanted to run several times a day via an automation.
Instead of creating an endless amount of automations, I created one shortcut that just runs all the …

At the same time, Sky allows power users to make their own tools that combine custom LLM prompts with actions powered by Shortcuts,
Wondering what could be possible to do whit this new app
After trying countless apps to track my macros, I kept running into the same issue: they all promised barcode scanning with full nutritional info, but most of the time the feature didn’t work properly. It became so frustrating to enter everything manually that I eventually gave up on them altogether.
That’s why I built my own shortcut. It scans any barcode and fetches macro data directly from the OpenFoodFacts.org API.

Personally, I use FoodNoms to log the macros, since I love its clean design and seamless shortcut integration. But this shortcut works with any app that offers shortcut log integration, as it stores each macro in a separate variable that you can use however you like. Alternatively, you may use Excel or the Notes app to log the data.
For my needs, I chose to extract and log just the essentials: - Product name - Brand - Calories - Fat - Carbohydrates - Protein
That’s more than enough for my daily …
I’ve recently gotten into podcasts and found some entertaining and interesting shows. I’ve enjoyed some multi episode shows in the true crime, documentary and investigative journalism spaces.
As the title suggests, what’s a series that you enjoyed and would love to listen to again for the first time to enjoy the revelations, twists and/or story progression.
Edit —-
You guys….this is awesome. Some really great shows here I’m looking forward to getting into.
I thought this was pretty cool and I wish more shows would be this transparent about what it takes to make a successful podcast.

Bonus points if it’s not one we’ve seen recommended a thousand times before on this sub (ie Heavyweight, In the Dark, Criminal, Last Podcast on the Left, Sweet Bobby, etc etc)
Many put on an air of charm but are trying way too hard. Who do you listen to who achieves it without that phoniness?
For me: Dylan from atlas obscure: and Amory and Ben from Endless thread are great and I want more like them
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to refresh my morning podcast lineup and would love your recommendations. Ideally looking for episodes that are 30 minutes or less.
I’m into – news and politics (global) – science, history, or anything that helps me learn something new – thoughtful, reflective content (but not guided meditation) – light but engaging stuff that’s interesting without being too heavy
Just looking for something I can listen to in the morning that helps me feel informed before the day starts. Thanks in advance!
Hey yall looking for some good paranormal stories. Topics I’ve been recently into: -haunted homes/camping experiences -aliens -urban legends -conspiracy: most recently about Vatican archives -world wide events that are not spoken about

Trying to expand my horizon beyond well-known reading suggestions.
My college professor wants us to pick out a book and give a presentation on the mental illness the character has. I’d like to challenge myself on this project and completly wow my professor. Everyone is picking books like the Catcher in the rye, the bell jar and perks of being a Wallflower. I feel like with the knowledge we have learned in my psychology in literature class, those are very easy to dissect and understand the character. I’m thinking I want something where to character is possibly evil, or maybe a hero that does bad things, or something where the main character is completely unhinged and crazy.
Thank you.
I just turned 18 and I’m at that stage where I want to level up….mentally, emotionally, and as a man. I’m working on becoming someone who’s reliable, emotionally strong, disciplined, and grounded. I want to build a strong sense of identity and direction, not just drift through life.
I’ve read Atomic Habits and Attitude is Everything. They were good starters. Now I’m looking for the next level…..books that hit deeper and stay with you for life.
If you’ve read something that helped shape you into a better man or person, I’d love to know. And if there are any underrated gems that don’t get mentioned often, please drop those too also mention a short review about the book and how it can help me improve
Open to all genres—self-help, philosophy, memoirs, even fiction that teaches life lessons. Hit me with your best.
Edit - thanks for so many recommendations…. Its tbh overhwelming….to see the support of so many..
It doesn’t have to be the perfect book, or a book you even though much about much after you finished it, it just has to be one that hasn’t been mentioned here and deserves a mention.
Any genre. Fiction or non. Only choose one book please–hence, your favourite.
You know that feeling — when a book just completely pulls you in, and you’re living in its world for days? I’m talking about the kind of book that left you stunned, emotionally wrecked, or just in awe of the writing. The kind of experience you wish you could bottle and relive again.
What book gave you that feeling?
Fiction or nonfiction, doesn’t matter — I’d love to hear what book you’d choose if you could wipe your memory and start fresh.
Please share why it hit so hard. I’m hoping to find my next obsession.
It occurred to me that many attempts to get top ten lists from people are a little shortsighted as many gamers have only played around ten games! I’m eager to get responses from well-traveled gamers, the sorts who have dozens and dozens of experiences and thousands of hours.
If you fit that description, what would you say? Cheers!
I got 20 bucks, and I need a game that will consume my life and ruin my sleep schedule
This is a post made in response to the “what games should every gamer play even once in his life?” post, but it’s also a broader rant about how we talk about certain games like they’re universal necessities. I don’t know if a meta talk about gaming suggestions is allowed in this sub or not, in that case I’ll delete the post and post it again in the videogames sub.
Those “must-play” lists always start with good intentions: trying to celebrate iconic or influential games. But they quickly spiral into a laundry list of everyone’s favorites. You’ll get a mix of The Witcher 3, Dark Souls, Minecraft, Tetris, Half-Life 2, Undertale, Disco Elysium, Persona 5, Bloodborne, Breath of the Wild, etc. And suddenly you’re staring at a backlog that looks like a life sentence.
And the thing is, calling any of them “must-play” ignores personal taste, access, and even how a game’s design philosophy might just not click …
what games you recommend to every gamer to even try it
here is my list :
the metro series
mass effect trio
max payne
and i never liked turn based games but baldurs gate 3 is so good
Or maybe something with the same dark, gothic visual style, but without the intense soulslike gameplay?
I’ve tried Blasphemous and GRIME but they all feel pretty heavy in their own way. Looking for something that keeps the mood and atmosphere, but takes it a bit easier on the combat and difficulty.
Any suggestions?
