This subreddit has decided to take part in the multi-subreddit protest of reddit’s new API policy that essentially gets rid of all third party reddit apps and more changes that remove NSFW content from the API. This sub will be set private from June 12-June 14 and possibly even longer if Reddit does not respond.
More details about the API changes and the actions subreddits are taking can be found in this post

I cereated this shortcut, which will send you back to your homescreen, when you open your preferred Reddit App between 12.06.2023 and 14.06.2023.
All you need to do is to create a new automation that triggers on opening the app of your choice and select my shortcut to execute.
Here you can see the automation working as intended.
Today, at 1:00pm Eastern Apple will be hosting their yearly WWDC keynote. Here we will discuss all the Shortcuts related findings and details around iOS 17 Beta 1.
The stream can be viewed:
Apple’s YouTube Channel or on Apple’s website.
In great wishes and hopes to some amazing new Shortcuts changes, features and additions.
This post will be locked from comments until the keynote begins. Once unlocked the conversation can begin and the beta findings should be posted here. The betas may take some time to roll out after the keynote ends so please be patient.

[Press Release] An Update on Changes to Spotify’s Podcast Business, June 2023
I think this sucks. There is a good chance people who have worked on your favorite podcasts are affected by these job cuts.
I find Spotify’s press release deeply cynical. They boast all their growth numbers, how they are the market leader and talk about “maximizing consumption” (yuck!) and two paragraphs later they say it is necessary to fire the very people that produced these numbers for them.
What do you think about this? Do you listen to any Gimlet or Parcast productions? Does this change how you see Spotify? Do you maybe even agree these cuts are necessary to stay competitive?
I rarely post here but this podcast is so good that I was trying to find a place to listen ahead. I just wanted to throw that out there to anybody who enjoys investigative journalism podcast series. I recommend this, it’s better a very long time since I’ve actually went out of my way to make sure I catch the next episode. It is really so good. If anyone can recommend anything in the meantime similar or any investigative journalism I may not have caught, that would be great. Highly recommend but it’s only every Monday.
Edit to add I believe that I found the recommendation here and if I did thank you so much to that person!
Hi! I recently found this newer podcast on Instagram- it’s called Smut Up and Listen. Looks like they are pretty new so I wanted to shout them out! It’s three girls and one of them doesn’t read smut (dirty romance) and the other two do. They dive into the books and get the “smut virgins” reaction, it’s honestly very funny! I was able to find them on Spotify! :)
I’m trying to find a good podcast for my drive to work. I used to use headspace but that’s more for sitting at home meditation since sometimes you have to close your eyes.
I recently started listening to a positive thinking type podcast for my morning routine but it turned out to be a religious thing and I’m not looking for that.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Title. I don’t have a lot of guides/mentors to help me out with life and all of the difficulties that comes with adulting. Are there any podcasts that serve this purpose?
I am wanting to learn more about the Stonewall riots.
Hello dear /r/suggestmeabook readers and friends,
This is not my favourite meta post to make, it’s also quite long, but we feel it’s pretty important and it’s something we really hope you’ll take the time to read.
TL;DR: click me for a visual guide.
On May 31^st, 2023, Reddit Inc announced changes to their API usage policy which, if enacted, will quite permanently shut down many, if not all, third party apps that a large number of Redditors use to access and enjoy their favourite communities - this one included.
One of the most critical changes to the API is that it is moving from a free to a paid model, resulting in expenses that developers of third party apps simply cannot afford. To put the price change in to context, Apollo, one of the most popular third party apps for Reddit, is looking at a cost of $1.7 million per month to continue operating. In contrast, Apollo pays Imgur $166 per month for the same amount of API calls.
This means popular apps like …
I loved Educated by Tara Westover and now I’m looking for a memoir, critique, or fiction about the toxicity of new age spirituality and abuse. Think issues like Gwen Paltrow’s GOOP or The Secret’s James Arthur Ray who was convicted of negligent homicide at his sweat lodge. Is anyone speaking out about manifestation, “crunchy cults”, gurus and psychics, or fringe cult-like new age movements? I’m having a hard time finding non self help books about these topics that aren’t blatantly promoting them.
He asked who is alive today that is like DaVinvci and Neil Armstrong.
Thank you!
“ my legs creak under my weight, and the weight of my parents. And their parents. And their parents”
I’m looking for a book where the main character is similar to Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character in Fleabag?
I need something with lots of humour and good character development, can be a series or standalone.
I read “She who became the sun” by Shelley Parker-Chan and “Iron Widow” by Jiran Jay Zhao, and I need more book recs with female protagonists who are willing to do anything to rise to power and/or get their revenge.
So my wife is not a gamer at all so I can’t really share the hobby with her, I’ve only had success with Telltale games where while I control everything she makes the decisions and we can work together. Are there other games like that, where our choices actually impact the story. My platform is PC.
Thanks!
Looking for game where you start as nobody like in kingdom come deliverance or kenshi, i want rpg but i’m okay with other genre
Hi, as the title says, I’m looking for some games that will take all my emotions, press it into a tiny little ball and play with it as it were a cheap toy out of some vending machine near a street where it eventually ends up under the tires of a speeding car, exploding in a million tiny pieces, impossible to fix in any way or form.
Only PC/Steam recommendations please :)

Repost because I hate typos :)))))
My tastes have changed dramatically in the last few years, to the point that the experiences I seek are those where failure is expected and winning is its own reward
Usually this has been multiplayer games (apex, warzone, rocket league etc) but I’ve also enjoyed bloodborne, hitman (particularly freelancer) and hades
As well as “losing” in these games being more common than not, I think what’s also key is that all the mechanics in these games are pretty much open from the start
There’s no real handholding, no massive cutscenes to speak of, the story is a frame for the gameplay and can be ignored … you can get “better” at the game and maybe there’s upgrades but for all intents and purposes from start to end the game remains the same. With this in mind you can also play these games for five minutes or five hours and have the same experience - something else that fits the bill
So any recommendations? I’m happy to play any genre
