I received this email moments ago:
Dear Stitcher Listener,
We have decided to discontinue operation of the Stitcher app and website effective August 29, 2023.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity over the last decade to create the best possible podcast listening experience. The podcast ecosystem would not be where it is today without listeners like you. Please be sure to continue to support all of your favorite shows wherever they can be found.
We realize you may have some questions and, hopefully, the information below will help you understand how this change affects you.
Thank you again for allowing us to be part of your podcast routine. We truly appreciate your support.
The one thread that unites 99% of podcasts- the guests (& hosts) have gained some level of success. Hard to relate when you’re unsuccessful
I just finished The Clapham Wood Mystery and it makes my skin crawl. In a positive way, this is definitely the scariest true history/crime podcast for me, I can only highly recommend it!
I am currently going through some emotional stuff and I think I have listened to and read enough self help . I want to listen to positive /happy or funny podcasts that will let me switch off from how I am feeling and just focus on being positive and distracted.
Any recommendations?
Hey there folks!
I only really learned about Alex Jones when the court ruling came out around his conspiracies about Sandy Hook, and his having to pay families compensation.
I’m currently listening to ‘Behind the Bastards’ ’s 3 part deep dive on him to understand more about him, but I wondered if there were any podcasts - deep dives or just single episodes - that looks at how Alex Jones first got into believing it was all a big conspiracy.
I just find it really interesting that someone could genuinely believe a school shooting was faked. Any recs would be greatly appreciated!
I love it when one of my favorite podcasts/hosts has a crossover with another I follow.
Defector’s own Alex Sujong Laughlin joins Drew and Roth to discuss her article on the liquidation of Gimlet by Spotify. They stay on Media Creation Corner to discuss their experiences in digital media with Producer Eric, as well as the dust-up between Bill Simmons and the Royal Family,
Episode: Let’s Remember a Podcast with Alex Sujong Laughlin
Starting about 08:55, she gives a great ELI5 breakdown of their history and the events leading up to this and some podcast production budget info. Here’s the article she wrote about it earlier they’re referencing in the episode:https://defector.com/gimlet-medias-story-was-always-going-to-end-like-this
I request you guys to recommend me books that will uplift my spirits , that will make me feel calm , happy ,content ,optimistic and hopeful. Books that will leave me with a feeling that life is good. Thanks in advance.
i’m sick of being recommended queer books that are essentially for 13 year-olds who still take “am i gay” quizzes. are there any queer books that don’t feel infantilizing or patronizing? something for someone in their mid to late twenties?
I’m tired of fantasy novels that are all about characters whose primary calling is fighting. I don’t mind if there’s action or fighting, but I want a book that focuses more on less… martial issues. I love getting the pseudo-historical and magical details of more mundane professions, and so often those are ignored in action-packed fantasy.
I’ll also take straight fiction on the same theme, especially if it’s set historically!
Seriously one hell of a book! I don’t usually like science fiction like that but I enjoyed the Martian when I watched the movie so I tried it.
I loved it! Now I want something new, similar and science-y
I am also a high fantasy fan with some thrillers thrown in.
Other books I’ve read this year: Wilder Girls Realm Breaker Blade Breaker Fire & Blood Fourth Wing
I am looking for a book where the woman is freaking smart (not necessarily she has a degree from MIT) but someone who uses her brain, makes logical decisions, and get herself out of any trouble she is in/ finds success through challenges/ who never gives up.
Thanks much!
Due to obvious recent events, i’m wondering if there are books written on the horrors of the deep sea? Not just horror, like it could be anything that explores how terrifying and unknown the deep sea is. Thanks
Due to Reddit’s stance on their API pricing, I am not sure I will be around on here much longer.
As a developer who uses APIs all day, I know just how valuable they can be - Heck, this entire list is built using the Steam API and the API for the database that I host the browsable table in - Without APIs and access to information, the internet will get worse and more ‘privatized’, discouraging users from creating useful tools and content for the communities within (like you all).
Due to the “AI Gold Rush” OpenAI and ChatGPT opened the floodgates of, companies are locking down their data in hopes of getting other companies to pay big money for it if they want to train models, while exploiting their users for content and leaving them in the dust otherwise. Im sure that when reddit releases their own ‘ai features’ (because they absolutely will), asking it for ‘hidden gem games’ will almost certainly bring back some results from this …
As the title says, I’m looking for video games that are at their best the less you know about them. What I mean by this is that the game is enhanced by the mystery of itself and part of its charm is a discovery of what its about. A good example of what I mean would be Outer Wilds.
But I also want to mention that the mystery doesn’t necessarily have to be by design, and I would welcome any suggestions you would have derived from a past experience of a game you knew nothing about, sat down to play and were blown away and couldn’t put down (for me, that would be MGS1). Thanks
You know that game you slap on while you got a podcast playing in the background or while your favorite youtuber is going off etc? I’m looking for something to enjoy while chilling. Anything with lots of progression and unlockables is a plus!
Any genre any platform just a game you feel like only you know

Feel free to just mention a game you liked a lot that you feel only you know
Is it worth playing? Need a short review.
I have 3 days to basically unlimited access to every console. From Series X to NES and everything in between. What are a few games I can play through in about 10 hours time?
