I recently tried to make a shortcut that uses a list of items to gradually increase the volume of my alarm. However I can’t seem to figure out how to do it without creating a long shortcut that repeats the same few actions over and over multiple times. I tried percentages, just whole numbers, all sorts of things but I could not figure it out! How can I give media volume an input it can understand?

Shorddit is a reddit client that uses the “Show www view” action to perform basic tasks like looking at memes, upvoting good and funny memes, and downvoting bad and unfunny memes. There is some flaws tho. You can’t post images *sad bc no posting memes* and it’s permanently stuck on windowed mode because apple doesn’t care about full screen mode for show www view. It’s homepage can be expanded with bookmarks of posts, subreddits and user profiles. It has a great feature for people who hate extra useless steps, instead of searching subreddits/user profiles even tho you know the exact name of it you can input the exact name of the subreddit/user profile example: r/shortcuts / u/basically_ar. It’s also compatible for Mac! In fact, I made it on a mac but it’s compatible with the whole apple shortcuts compatible range of products probably even including apple watch. And for those people who want to add some of the functionality …
I jumped on the beta today and I’m not sure what they did, but my shortcuts are running insanely fast. I found a bug that prevents you from editing a Text Action with large amounts of text in it, so there are still bugs, but dang is it fast!
So i recently bought some NFC tags… But i don’t have any “smart” devices in my house… Do you have any shortcut/automation ideas to use just on the iphone?
had a pretty rough day. I’m looking for something to just zone out to while doing chores tn so my anxiety doesn’t spiral.
any suggestions? Tia!
So I’ve been listening to Sawbones for years. It’s a Doctor and her Husband that talk about the different medical practices over the last few hundred if not thousands of years. It’s wholesome, informativw and very funny at times. It’s definitely a hidden gem and while they have a lot of followers, I just can’t gatekeep this any longer.
I listen to it on Spotify but it’s available on several platforms. If you like medicine, science, history or just weird medical questions and answers, they got you.
Hey! As the title says, I’m super interested in finding more podcasts that delve into the motivations/mindsets of certain historical periods or figures.
I’m a HUGE fan of A Short History Of… and the Real Dictators podcasts for this reason, and I’ve loved Dan Carlin’s stuff too. I’ve also recently started listening to the “Putin” podcast by BBC and it’s fantastic, too.
I’ve found that when listening to history podcasts, I tend to be more focused and drawn towards the “why” something happened rather than the “how”.
Whether it’s historical or even more philosophical/sociologically based podcasts, definitely feel free to recommend. I’m fascinated by the human condition and learning about the socio-political conditions that lead to our greatest triumphs or our most monstrous failures.
Thanks for any recommendations!
EDIT: Forgot to mention. I prefer more narrative types, or at the very …
I’m looking for a podcast that helps teach people social skills, similar to Charisma on Command but in podcast form and longer. Preferably it’d be geared towards women but I’m not too picky on that.
I’m NOT looking for podcasts that are about decoding/analyzing body language only, shows that focus more on social anxiety, about hypnotism, sales/business persuasion or any ex-FBI explains how to read people. I’m looking more for a social psychology 101 podcast or a show where they help socially awkward people become more charismatic.
I get to listen to headphones while I’m at work 40 hours a week, I listen while doing chores, running errands, hiking, showering, etc.
I started listening to podcasts in February of 2021, and as of today, I am subscribed to 88 shows. Some are dead, but most post multiple times per month. About 75 I am up to date on and listening to only new episodes when they drop. 13 shows I am catching up on backlog.
What are your numbers?
Elon musk for example believes the same story. Joe Rogan’s guests are also not questioned about their lack of sympathy for Ukrainian resistance and the need to arm a country trying to resist an invasion. it’s always ‘ the west provoked it’ and there it ends. But what about the obvious culprit ? the Russian aggressor. attacking and trying to take another country ? There is a connection here, this group of friends with powerful voices, who influence people. and it is a potentially costly one for the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their freedom. The guests go on without questioning them, convincing gullible people of its truth and thus possibly swaying public support and thus potential Ukrainian support on the political level. This careful attitude of not helping other countries being invaded by Russia has only made them bolder. Chechnya, Georgia, Crimea and now the rest of ukraine. Europe tried the appeasement strategy and it only made things worse. So they …
there are some books that are universally acclaimed for their beauty of language, story, or both. I just finished “The book thief” and it’s both beautiful and heart breaking in the best possible way. So, I’m curious to know some of your favorites :)
To clarify I mean the book that you’ve read that is the highest in being both disturbing and well written. So like if you’ve read a book that is extremely disturbing but not well written or vise versa, then it doesn’t count.
I read like half of the book “Cows” recently and couldn’t finish it. Not because it was extremely disturbing, it sure was but because it’s just a bad book. There where many times where I was like “ooookay I guess I’ll let that slide” like the typos or when the narrator (who is not the protagonist) constantly cusses like a sailor for literally no reason or how many of the chapters are literally 1-2 pages but what got me was when one of the cows says something like, “man you know cows like p***sy too right?” Brother what? I guess the Author must not know that Cows are all female… how in the world is that book rated so highly on Amazon? I’m interested in disturbing books but not books that are just disturbing for the sake of being disturbing.
Every time I try to read Stephen King I find myself turned off by his writing style and give up.
Hello! I’m a 22 year old woman planning to live on my own for the first time. Recently I realized that I know next to nothing about basic adult stuff from plumbing to electricity to mechanical etc. I had a tumultuous childhood so neither of my parents taught me, and I’ve always lived with someone else who knew how to do it for me. Now that I need to know these skills, I feel like an absolute idiot for not doing anything sooner. What are some good, super beginner friendly books on how to do these things?
(When I say beginner, I mean I have NO clue about pliers or wrenches or most tools in a hardware store, I’m not really sure what a spark plug does or where to find it, and I only recently learned the difference between grout and caulk and I don’t know how to use either.)
Thank you so much!
- ofc, Diablo series but you probably already knew that.
- Path of Exile (Online and free. IMO, the best necromancy system I’ve ever seen in an ARPG. I mean there is a whole website called Necronomicon dedicated to Summon Spectre skill in the game which is an ability that can resurrect a spirit copy of almost any mob in the game with most of their skills and which you can modify with support mods as well so yea.. There are other skills like animate weapon and animate guardian where the former can animate an actual weapon like a weapon you can use but it can animate it into a pet that helps you and the higher the quality of the weapon the stronger the mob if I remember correctly while the latter animates a weapon+ armor into some sort of guardian. There is a zombie summoning skill and another that can summon skeletons which could summon 100+ skeletons back in the day but was nerfed later. There is summon raging spirits skill which used to be …
Cepheus protocol: you control a task force trying to stop a zombie outbreak on an island by killing patient zero. Incredibly fun and very immersive.
Anarchy wolf’s law: a dumb fun little shooter where you just walk around killing bandits and watching numbers go up.
The black masses: an fps where you fight huge hordes of zombies in medieval times using medieval weaponry, good fun if very unpolished
Dungeon siege: a fun arpg where the draw is you control a big crowd of people all fighting at the same time, it’s fun
Eye divine cybermancy: idk how to even describe it it’s like if wh40k was made by a schizophrenic
Easy red 2: fun ww2 battle sim fps, very immersive and good for a quick gaming session
Fort zombie: very rough around the edges but a charming zombie survival game lies underneath the rough exterior
Hidden deep: survival horror game where you play a team sent in after a mining operation went wrong to find to what happened and recover key equipment, very good but a little …
I feel like I’m missing some obvious ones but I’m drawing a blank…..
Any games that follow this general gameplay loop?
I like being able to look over available missions or jobs and pick one. Then customize my gear/equipment for the specific challenges I’m expecting. Head out, complete the mission/job and then head back to base to do it all over again.
Most recent game I’ve played like this was the Rogue-like mode they added into Hitman which was a lot of fun.
Anyone know of anything else that sounds like this? Thank you!
Hello, I’m a med student and dont really have the time to git gud in Dark Souls, but the genre interests me a lot. The adventure, the character customization, the looting, fighting bosses and etc.
Doesnt matter if it doesnt have a story or if its a “tree-like” story
Terraria fits here but I’ve grown tired of it so please dont recommend it, even with mods, I have like 700 hours on it.
I love most types of games, but I haven’t been able to find games where you play as a smuggler smuggling shit
