Screenshot filenames are cryptic, so I always have to preview every file to locate the one I want 😩. I ended up creating an Apple Shortcut automation that renames my screenshots to something useful. It extracts text from the screenshot and uses GPT to generate a useful title.
How to use:
I recently made a battery charging time log so that I can see how long my charging time is and the battery percentage at the start and at the end. It also log on notes the details such as date, time, and battery percentage. It will also notify you when you charge your phone, when you disconnect it, and when the phone reached 100%.
Basically my goal here is to log the time of my battery charging.
This is an automation, you need to create 3 automation for this to work properly. Each automation must run the shortcut.

After I “open note” a specific note, I often want to work on other notes in the same folder. But if I swipe out of that note, I am taken to a generic folder like All iCloud. To counter this, I add a “show folder” action before my “open note” action.
May be silly or minuscule for some, but thought I’d share. ✌︎
Looking for ideas of shortcuts I need in my life.
Customize the iOS/iPadOS icon when using the “Add to Home Screen” action on any website: https://routinehub.co/shortcut/15817
Also helpful if the default icon is low res and you want it to be sharper.
Does anyone know of a podcast or doc or anything that goes into how Amanda Reilly did this? The whole time listening to Scamanda I was waiting for them to get into the meat of it, and then they just never really did. I want to understand how this woman got away with this and have some of the questions answered like did she have cancer at any point? How did she know all of these details? Maybe this stuff is just not known, but I was really disappointed in Scamanda. It seems like it just built up and built up then was pretty anticlimactic at the end with how many open questions it left. Any suggestions?
That podcast was easily the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. The chemistry between the hosts was amazing and I love how they talked about so many interesting and controversial topics and really broke them down. It’s a shame that Michael left because I felt like the two hosts really fed off of each others energy and I don’t think it has been the same since. Are there any similar podcasts to this one that have the same wittiness, interesting content, and subtle humor that these guys did?
Came here to recommend a podcast called The Girlfriends! The final episode was released yesterday and the production quality is really good! It follows the true story of Gail Katz, who went missing in 1985.
It falls in the true crime category but it’s definitely unlike the ‘usual’ format. It starts off by a group of women bonding over a terrible (and abusive) ex they had. They discover that the ex had a wife that went missing under suspicious circumstances. The podcast includes interviews with ex’s, police detectives on the case as well as the sister of Gail. Super interesting and had me hooked!

Just want to tell the world about this good Podcast about life of wolves in Yellowstone.
I have to make an 8 hour drive next week and I’m looking for an addictive podcasts with good production value. I don’t want 2 guys drinking beer in their basement talking about murder and making jokes. I use podcast republic of that helps any. Tia

What impacted your perspective, made you add or drop a habit? What has blown your mind or had you reconsider your path? What reminded you to live or had you redefining what living is? What book was a real eye opener or heart warmer? What has moved you?
Feeling like I will never get better, like I’ll never have a life without suicidal thoughts. Bonus points if it’s an easy-ish read because it’s hard for me to focus now, but recommend me anything and I’ll add it to my list 🤍 no topic/genre/content is off limits
Edit: I know no one will probably see this but THANK YOU all so much for your suggestions. Even though I can’t respond to them all, just know I am reading them🤍
I’m looking for a book that is addictive and engrossing. Where the world written is rich enough to live in and grabs you with it.
It doesn’t have to be fantasy. Just a world other than mine. Currently reading Dostoevsky & Janet Finch.
I’ve read some books that are so intriguing, interesting and mysterious that keep you busy with so many thoughts. They involve you so much to the point that you just don’t want to stop reading. I remember there were times where I stopped reading a particular book just because I wanted to experience the feeling of reading it the next day as well. Is there a book that comes to mind when I say all those things?
I’m looking for a book (thriller, drama, horror, mystery, etc) that doesn’t end the last 30 pages where everything works out and everyone lives happily ever after. Something that either makes me cry my eyes out or leaves me holding the book with exhaustion once I’m done reading. No endings where everything gets wrapped up in a pretty bow, please.
By beautifully written I don’t mean simply rich imagery although that helps but the way a scene or feeling is described feels like this book is hiding lines of poetry within but still ultimately plot-driven and not just prose! Share a quote if you can :)
for reference my favorite genre is gothic fiction/drama and eerie mysteries
I’m looking for games you can (theoretically) sink countless of hours into. Genre doesn’t really matter so long as it’s a huge timesink. Replayability and variety is a must for what I’m trying to look for.
Some games I’ve played that fit my idea of a forever game include Destiny 2, Warframe, and even Monster Hunter: World.
My plan is to have a cozy/lazy stay home day. I’m thinking about playing an adventure game like Undertale, Chicory, Hat in Time, or Owl Boy. Things that can be beaten in a day by someone that plays games fairly frequently. Something with a bit of story, a bit of fun gameplay and probably under 8-12 hours of content.

I was never a huge gamer, but one day I picked up assassins creed odyssey, and I LOVED it, especially 3rd person open world. Because of this is began playing every other assassin’s creed and got lost in all of them, and now that I’ve finished them (and rdr2) I really want to play another game like those, but can’t really find anything and most games feel empty, please help me out here.
(Also I own an Xbox, so I can’t play ghost of Tsushima, the last of us, or god of war)
I like the exploration and the feeling of being lost in an endless labyrinth. I’m not bothered about fighting shit and just see it as a distraction. I’d like a game where I just start in the middle of a labyrinth or castle or whatever and I have to escape, puzzles are fine but nothing too complicated or full of bs like that stupid witness game

Thank you for all the suggestions! I’ve got a lot of stuff to check out.
Yeah…Its a temporary situatuation since my main pc broke down and I wanna play some games. Please don’t recommend me cloud gaming cause my wifi speed sucks. I have a Dell Optilex 755, 2gb ram, 75 gb of storage and a Intel Q35 Chpset for my GPU. I know I won’t be able to run much but give me what you’ve got. Wanted to post this in r/lowendgaming but they banned “recommend me games” posts and their thread for “recommend me games” posts take days to get a response. Thanks for any suggestions in advance:).
Edit: Holy cow! Thanks for all of the responses, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup seems good so far, I’ll be sure to check the other ones asap. Once again tysm for all the responses, this subreddit has never failed me:)

I love games like Baldur’s Gate, and have had fun with Planescape: Torment, and the Owlcat Pathfinder CRPGs, Dragon Age, and so on. My problem (not “problem” but…annoyance maybe?) is having to manage, understand and play 4+ different characters.
The only thing I can think of that fits the bill here is Disco Elysium, which I loved. I have long been a fan of Final Fantasy games, especially ones where your followers can level up automatically and are generally pretty autonomous–I like the FF VII remake for this, for example.
So, I’m wondering if there is a CRPG where you focus on a single character, and your party is AI controlled, or at the least, mostly independent outside of making a handful of decisions for them. I know I mostly listed fantasy games, but I’m open to sci-fi and other genres as well.
