This is a random ordered list of iOS/PadOS Apps that offer most of their features or functionality via Shortcuts.
Does not include common stand alone apps that offers a couple of actions to shortcuts. HomeKit & Widget related Apps aren’t included either.
I thought it’d be useful having them all in one place.
@MrJeevs and I create the “LinkedIn Profile To Apple Contact” shortcut allows you to convert any LinkedIn profile into a Apple Contact on your device, by grabbing the following contact information from LinkedIn, if it’s available to you:
-First Name -Last Name -Profile Picture -Phone Number -Email -Address -Birthday -Connection Date -Last Company Name -Last Company Position -Websites -Twitter URL -LinkedIn URL
I was fed up with cryptic screenshot filenames, so I created a shortcut that leverages ChatGPT app. No more ‘IMG_1234.PNG.’ Just clear, descriptive filenames that actually make sense.
This updated post incorporates a lot of the feedback folks commented in the initial post:
Shortcuts are so powerful, but the lack of UI makes them complicated to set up. So I wrote this step-by-step guide so that anyone can learn how to use it. The guide also shows how to automate it so you don’t have to manually run.
Let me know what you think :)

Hello everyone, @MrJeevs and I created the first version of a shortcut that turns the LinkedIn profile into a contact. Sharing here for those who find it useful, feedback or contribute.
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/eb18ffff416a4ccd993d960e0c6af801
In this first version: Captures and create a contact with First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email, LinkedIn URL, Twitter URL, Website URL, Last Company, Last Position, Birthday and Profile Photo.
Known bugs (don’t know how to fix): -Does not add multiple emails, phones and websites; -Conditional for if there is no information; -Url of profiles (twitter and LinkedIn) are added as url instead of social profile field of contacts; -The birthday is added with the current year instead of not putting the year; -Does not add connection date; -Does not add the address; -It is only possible to create the contact from a desktop page and not from a URL or mobile version.
I have been trying to figure out how to get a feature like this on my iPhone for ages. I want every single photo I take, or am sent, or I take a screenshot of, to be organized into an album.
I want pictures of my family to be in a “Family” album. I want pictures of my dogs to be in a “Pets” album. I want vacation pics to be in a “Vacation” album. I want all my stupid memes or screenshots to go in a “Temporary/To Be Deleted” album. Etc…
Do you have thousands of photos on your phone and its just an unorganized mess? Do you want to save or backup your important photos but ignore all the stupid ones? If so, this shortcut is for you!
I can’t believe that the iPhone camera doesn’t have an Album select overlay on the camera app. In my opinion, for every single picture you take, you should be able to select the album on the fly and have pictures automatically go into that album. It’s just common sense. If the default …

I’m struggling with finding the motivation and will to start my life, find a job etc. Basically idk where I’m going with my life. So I was wondering if there were maybe some podcasts that covered similar issues or could help with that.
My favourite talk show of all time is without a doubt The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Granted, I haven’t been watching any late show there is out there since Craig stepped down. It’s still a show I think fondly of, with the chemistry between him and Josh Robert Thompson - who plays Geoff Peterson - being the highlight of each episode.
When it was announced that Craig would be hosting his own podcast (Joy), I was very happy about it, and was looking forward to it. I started listening to it when it began.
On August 29, I have not seen who the guest was for the episode that came out that day. I was on Facebook, and I saw a video that had the audio of Craig and Josh talking. For some reason, I did not think that this was for Joy. When I found out that it was, I immediately got ecstatic.
The episode is awesome. Being able to hear them talk together again made me happy.
They go through their experiences on the show, what Josh has been up to, and talk about the …
Recently stumbled into this on Audible Unlimited.
It’s a quick 4 hour plus traipse through ridiculousness…sort of like listening to a raunchy fairy tale Saturday Night Live? Even though the jokes were often ribald and silly, and the plot a little thin, I just couldn’t help giggling as I cleaned along to this show this weekend.
The editing and celebrity appearances were superb, with one section that actually made me SQUEAL with crossover joy (I shan’t spoil it.) The storytelling could have been better…it sorta felt half-baked and inside-jokey at parts, and if you don’t know all the culture references they’ll fall flat, but it’s still a mood-lifting treat for your ears. It’s a bit like listening to your favorite funny friends riff off one another.
Anyway! Recommended with reservations.

I’ve listened to a bunch of episodes of Scamfluencers and I’m scratching my head at something. When you listen, it seems that one of the hosts is telling the story to the other, who knows what it’s about but doesn’t know the details. But then Scaachi Koul and Sarah Hagi both credit themselves as extra writers (on top of the main people who did the script) for each episode. Is it because the surprise element is an act, do you think?
I love bit heavy comedy and while you get moments of it in other podcasts (the Conan provides a solid amount but really dependent on the guest) I’m looking for podcasts where that’s really all the podcast is
I’ll start:
Verity.
I found it so disturbing that I couldn’t enjoy it. It might have been because I just had a baby but I didn’t enjoy the writing or the plot either.
It was so highly recommended but I wish someone had given me a TW.
I always thought making everyone have a reason to kill the victim makes the mystery more fun. And I dont remember reading much mysteries like that, the ones i remember reading are “murder on the orient express” by agatha christie and i guess “the it girl” by ruth ware is kinda like this too. anyone has any other suggestions?
EDIT: guys please i appreciate all the recs but i have already mentioned murder on the orient express in this post and it has also have already been mentioned a thousand times in the comments 😭 i also have already read “the guest list” “pretty little liars” “one of us is lying” thanks!
This a really open prompt. I’m hoping mostly for underrated gems that you’ve read, loved, and then realized it didn’t have the attention it deserved, or you just really want other people to check it out and see if they feel the same way you did.
For an example of my own, I’d list I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh for anyone looking for an insane plot twist and a thrilling story you can’t put down.
I’ve recently began reading books that are on the smuttier side and I’d love to hear about the books that some great plots and smut. Ofc it doesn’t have to be mainly romance, can be fantasy , thriller or mystery. I don’t really mind
I’ve been a reader for about 5 years now, and while I’ve read some trendy books like everyone else, I’ve also avoided others that everyone else has read but me.
For example, I haven’t read Harry Potter because I grew up with the movies (except for the two parts of Deathly Hallows).
From A Song of Ice and Fire, I’ve only read A Storm of Swords, and yes, I haven’t read either:
Anyway, I think you get the idea.
To make this even more fun, for every book you suggest that I haven’t read, I will reply, “Dishonor on my cow!”
Before suggest:
Everytime I’ve heard “every woman should read-” it’s been followed by something like Rupi Kaur or Colleen Hoover and I’ve rolled my eyes, a bit hyper-critically to be honest.
But last night I read Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El-Saadawi and if I had to put any book in that blank it might be this one. It’s about the events in an Egyptian woman’s life leading up to her murdering her pimp and being sentenced to death, and based on a real interview the author conducted.
Now I’m curious, if anything, what’s your ‘every woman should read’ pick that you actually think a lot of women could get something out of?
Lately I’ve been searching for “quality” games. Ones that you can tell had passion, time, and effort put into making. Recently it feels like everything is very copy and paste. Everything feels bland, like there’s no effort in world building and story anymore.
Some examples of games I consider quality: Nier:Automata, Elden Ring, Halo 1-Reach, FF7, Red dead 2, fear and hunger, Rimworld, Armored core 6
Looking for an RPG where I can just live an everyday existence. Possibly something where I can get some kind of job and go on everyday task.
I don’t mind there being some sort of combat or story to follow but I prefer to be able to separate myself from it for long periods of time and do other things if I want.
As far as the setting goes basically any setting or time period that is not current day and time will work. So fantasy, sci-fi, Wild West, all that would be fair game. I prefer something where I create my own character instead of playing an already established person but that is not a deal breaker.
Skyrim would be the best example I can think of but I have played it a gazillion times. I like how I can just step away from the story lines and get random jobs and build houses etc.
I love the type of chill feel of Stardew with having your farm and then doing various tasks and chores going through your day to day life while interacting with NPCs and other side activities but after playing it and various other farming sim games I was wondering if there were games out there that had a similar formula but aimed at other genres. Like instead of a farmer you are a space trader, or delving into a dungeon, or running a shop. Just keep the core concept but give it a different theme and flavor.
I know my request is quite specific, and perhaps it’s more of a desire to relive certain sensations evoked by some games, but I’ll try anyway. I love it when a game immerses you so deeply that you can develop a “personal” connection with what you can build and own. For example, I loved the way they handled vehicles in Subnautica (like the submarine), where you truly feel like the captain of a massive, challenging-to-build vehicle that you can freely explore and care for, customizing it as you wish. I adored how they handled the horse in Red Dead Redemption 2, which becomes a true travel companion rather than just a mere “accessory” like in many other games. I really enjoyed the crafting system in Fallout 4, especially when played in Survival mode, where the base becomes meaningful in relation to gameplay rather than just decoration. I also somewhat liked how they designed the ships in No Man’s Sky, although in that case, the not very …
I’m obsessed with optimizing email, particularly Gmail. I love keeping my inbox sparkling clean, by archiving the emails I want to keep and deleting the ones I don’t need for anything. And I optimize this task as much as possible by creating Gmail filters that filter incoming emails depending on the sender, or the text that appears in the subject or the body of the email.
I’m obsessed to the point where many times a day I fantasize with creating new Gmail filters to optimize my inbox even more. Sadly I can’t optimize anymore because I receive few emails, and I’ve already optimized everything I could optimize for them.
So, is there a game that can scratch this itch of mine of optimizing email inboxes? I’d love to play it.
Platforms: PC (including emulating other platforms) and Switch.
I’m looking for a commitment, I want a single player game that I can sink hours into and know that I will consume everything it has to offer. BUT I don’t want:
I’m still ok with:
So yeah, any genre is cool, but I have the feeling I’m going to get a good amount of JRPGS (and rogue likes maybe?). I play on PC mostly.
Thanks a lot in advance :)
