Shortcuts webapp : // URLscheme gets streamlined for iOS26 & iPadOS26
By default, every website added to the Home Screen opens as a web app. If the user prefers to add a bookmark that opens in their default browser, they can turn off “Open as Web App”, even if the site is configured to be a web app. It’s up to users to decide. And the UI is always the same.
iPhone in the process of adding a website to the Home Screen. The UI shows the site icon, editable name, and a toggle turned on to Open as Web App.
Obviously not trying anything radical here. Was basically just looking to ‘Hello World!’ the thing and was immediately hit back with these lol
Maybe egg and banana are way more offensive than I realised!
Fun little shortcut I made. Uses AI (Gemini) to perform any action in Safari. Just describe what you want to happen, and it will generate and execute the JavaScript. I’ve found it useful for instance to select multiple objects on a page, or select all files in a list that match a certain parameter, or expand all drop down menus or accordions, scroll all the way to the bottom until all content is loaded, etc.
Limitations: - limited to whatever JavaScript can usually do. - only functions on the current page - must be run in Safari, from page share sheet
Caution: - it will automatically execute whatever code is generated without user review, so don’t use for anything important….

The podcast is called Blink and it tells the story of Jake Haendel, a man who survives an extremely rare brain disease, and is the only person to have ever survived it.
So I’m not a huge podcast listener but I stumbled across this podcast after seeing a tiktok on my fyp page. It was a young man (late 30s) who looked as though he had suffered some sort of stroke as he was in occupational therapy and was learning how to walk again. What made me go to his page was his humour though. He clearly still had a wicked sense of humour despite having to learn how to walk and talk again. From his tiktok page I saw that he had a podcast. And from there I heard the most insane, jaw dropping true crime story I have ever heard.
Jake had suffered from this extremely rare brain disease where the white matter in his brain essentially eats itself. It’s a death sentence and he was given 6 months to live. He ends up miraculously surviving, and is the only person to ever survive this disease. That alone is …
I cannot stand the “let’s hang” podcasts. Not staying on point, no cohesive structure to the conversations.
Even more what I can’t stand are the pods that are supposed to be about something specific, like let’s say your favorite sports team and the first 20 MINUTES or more, nobody is talking about literally anything of substance. No, I don’t care about all your funny inside joke banter and topics that have nothing to do with that show or episode. Also, when they are not making clear points, lots of vagueness “The team needs to play better…” Wow riveting, you cover this specific thing weekly and that’s all you got? There are several shows I completely stopped entertaining because they spent so little time actually talking about what they claim. Basically way too many shows are lazy. Okay, I’m done yelling at the clouds.
Ive been going back through old episodes of Clash of the Titles, the podcast where they pit two movies together that have something in common and figure out which one does it better (e.g. Armageddon vs Deep Impact, The Fugitive vs Gone Girl, etc)
The hosts were super funny, and had been friends for a long time so they had great chemistry. Plus they worked in the entertainment industry so had insider knowledge.
I especially loved it when they went from just one hour long episode discussing both movies once a week to doing an hour long episode about each movie and releasing them twice a week (plus the quiz!)
So sad when they stopped it, still not sure why.
What podcasts do you miss?
Looking for a fun podcast, something that you can laugh along with nothing serious, absolutely no politics or where they stand with political views. I love podcasts that have great banter. Everyone nowadays are doing podcasts and it’s so hard to find that one that you religiously listen to. My favourite podcast has been Victory, it’s the behind the scenes of Entourage they just have great banter together and is always a good laugh but they stopped doing it for a long time and only slowly coming back to do eps here and there. What is one podcast that you always recommend and wish people would listen to. Thanks 🙂
I often see lists of the greatest podcasts, but I less frequently see lists of the greatest standalone podcast episodes. By that, I mean the episode can be enjoyed without the context of the rest of the show. What comes to mind for you?
I’ll often hear about a celebrity starting a podcast and I’ll roll my eyes like, “not another one”.
But then I’ll listen to it and turns out it just makes me like the host more than I thought I would.
So now I want suggestions for more celebrity-hosted podcasts! Any genre except sports, thank you!!
For me, it’s The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel.
What’s your go-to book that you always tell people to read?
I’m looking for something clever, intense, and very strange. Something that makes me feel and think, ideally both in excess. I want to be immersed in a vivid, unusual perspective, especially ones far from my own. I love unreliable narrators, queerness, and weirdness (in character, prose, or theme).
I’ve loved McGlue (Ottessa Moshfegh), Two-Step Devil (Jamie Quatro), Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (Douglas Adams), and Howl’s Moving Castle (Diana Wynne Jones) for their distinctive styles, sincerity, interesting themes, and uniqueness.
I enjoy mystery, psychological or literary horror, dystopian sci-fi, and fantasy/supernatural fiction. I’m not a fan of monotonous or overly purple prose, straight romance, or romantasy. Indie or under-the-radar recs are a plus. *Slight* preference for short books.
The world is a lot lately, and I found myself turning to a familiar comfort read to find some peace and space to unwind (The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet audiobook), but it both made me curious what other people’s comfort reads are… and maybe I can find a new one to turn to when the world does its world things.
So: what book(s) are your comfort reads that you go back to again and again?
I’m looking for books that’s gonna inspire the hell out of me to care about my life more and seize the moments. I feel like I’m wasting away and it’s not just my depression talking.
Fiction or not, preferably nothing political.
It’s been almost a month since I last posted something like this, and I’ve really enjoyed this in the past.
The concept is simple: list three books that you love, and readers who have also loved the same book or books will comment and give recommendations of what they think you should try next. It’s also a great way to connect with other readers, and, who knows, possibly find a reading buddy.
If you post your three, please DO comment on someone else’s post to provide recommendations for them.
My three that I’d like recommendations for:
The Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell
My wife has never been a big reader but lately she’s been reading more and enjoying it. She does not like reading about conflict or anything bad happening to people – she had enough of that in her life, she doesn’t want to seek it out – so I’m looking for things like that. I asked for specifics and she said:
“Most people have periods of their life where nothing bad happens to them or their loved ones and there’s no big cloud hanging over them. I want to read about those periods. I don’t need there to be some big lesson or turning point. I just want to read about people’s happy lives.
“I don’t enjoy reading about bad/mean/unpleasant people. I want to read about the good people. I like learning about how people in different societies and times and places live. But through good people living happy lives. It really doesn’t matter much if it’s fantasy/romance/adventure/historical…. As long as it has good people that nothing bad happens to.” …
Hello!
I’m looking for games where you use guns but ammo is limited, every shot counts and every hit is devastating. Modded or not!
Games like:
- STALKER
- DayZ
- The Last of Us
- Into the Radius
- Neo Scavenger
Hit me with your most obscure recommendations.
Thank you.
I ask for a cozy farm sim and suddenly Todd shows up recommending Dark Souls “because it has a crafting system.” Bro, I said cozy, not trauma. It’s like asking for tea and getting a sledgehammer. Fellow gamers, let’s rise up - only suggest games you’ve actually played, I’m begging.
You know the type ,that game where every input is satisfying, and before you know it, you’ve lost 3 hours just vibing in total flow. Doesn’t matter the genre, just something where the feedback, pacing, and moment-to-moment gameplay constantly reward you. Could be combat, movement, upgrades, rhythm, whatever.
What’s your pure dopamine game?
Like the title says. Give me suggestions of games where you play as a lonely sad guy who misses his wife, please. Whatever genre and console is fine but preferably PS5 or Switch 1 thank you :)
(DISCLAIMER: Doesn’t have to be a horror game and I’ve already played Silent Hill 2 OG & Remake as well as Dead Space Remake)
EDIT: Hi everyone. I just checked Reddit after work and omggg so many replies 😭 thank you so much to everyone who has responded I’m trying to read all of them. So far I’ve decided to play Disco Elysium and Shadow of The Colossus BUT I’m making a note in my phone with all the suggestions. I really appreciate all the input and thank you so much to everyone for taking the time to comment :)
EDIT 2: Also to everyone asking if I’m alright, yes I am and no I don’t have anything going on. I just recently beat Silent Hill 2 remake and really enjoyed the grief aspect of it that’s all lmaooo thank you for the kind words though
