So I’m trying to make a shortcut that if I’m with in X distant of my parked car location, the shortcut will run
My main question is this If statement distance is less than or equal to… I’ve put 10. But 10 what? Meters I’m guessing but does anyone know for sure?
Just curious if anyone has any good shortcuts for daily life also l go to high school if that helps.
Hi everyone!
I’ve created an iOS shortcut I’m really excited about – the Beer Equivalent Calculator! This handy tool helps you calculate how many standard beers (5% ABV, 330ml) your drink equates to. Perfect for craft beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike!
🍻 What It Does:
Enter the ABV and volume of your beer, and it calculates the equivalent in standard beers. Logs each drink with a timestamp in a text file (for privacy and easy tracking).
🔧 Customization: You’ll need to set up a text file in your iCloud Drive for the logging feature.
Here’s the iCloud link to the shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/3cca034d7d104f49ad7f9c568be0e3d8
🤷 Why Make This?
Honestly, just for a bit of fun. Maybe it’s the most unnecessary shortcut ever, but who knows, you might find it amusing! And, of course, this is all just for laughs. Always drink responsibly.
I’d really like to know what you think. Got a chuckle, a suggestion, or just a comment on its …

I used to be a huge JRE fan and evangelized the hell out of it. I loved the episodes with professors and experts because he let them vibe and in doing so allowed them to talk about their fields in ways that werent academic or educational but down to earth and accessible. I wasn’t always crazy about having his friends on because let’s be real they were never that funny or interesting, I mean I used to put JRE on my Bluetooth speaker at work because I got everyone there into the show and we would always look at each other in confusion as Joe completely believed every made up ass story Bert Kreischer told but they were always worth at least checking out. Ive been a leftist all of my adult life so while I was annoyed he talked to so many right wing media figures I gave him credit for also equally platforming progressive voices. The very last show I checked out from him was the second Alex Jones appearance. That was one of the funniest episodes I’ve ever listened to …
I like investigative journalism, true crime (pretty much listened to all campside media, lemonada, serial, wondery, the binge, etc,) fiction/audio dramas (no sleep, I hear fear, spooked & snap judgment,) story telling (what was that like, secret room, monsters among us, something was wrong, dead files, and this is actually happening.)
I work from home and needing a new show is horrible…. Pretty please help me find my next binge!!!
Hi all,
Am currently bed bound after a small procedure and will be for a couple of weeks am hoping for some series to listen to. I don’t have the energy to research new ones so hoping for your suggestions. I have listened to and liked:
Dirty John Bunga bunga I’m not a monster Hoaxed Blood ties The crossbow killer
I like true crime, docu series and fiction. Thanks in advance 🙂
What the title says lol I’ve been wondering if there’s such thing, it’d be interesting to hear
I stumbled across Armchair Expert one day, and deeply enjoyed the range of guests and subject matters. I feel like I learned a lot, and could listen casually while I worked.
However, I’ve always found the hosts to be annoying - I’ve never enjoyed Dax, or how he relates everything back to himself. I’ve found Monica to be a little rude (more so in Flightless Bird) - I don’t want to shit on then truth be told - I just don’t enjoy them as hosts personally and it affects my enjoyment of the show.
I’m not here to be giving time to Joe Rogan obviously.
Are there any other podcasts you know of that are similar? Big chats with interesting folks in different industries?
I usually listen to NPR’s 1A, but I realized that I can’t stomach another 10 months of anxiety about the fate of the world and the toxic bickering and name-calling. I don’t want to hear about caucuses or debates until October.
But I’m trying to be a good citizen and stay informed about other national and international events. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I tend to get tired when reading longer books. I recently finished East of Eden but had to take a break halfway to read a bunch of shorter books before continuing. And my last long book before that was 1Q84 which I also enjoyed but took me some time to finish.
Feeling extremely depressed right now and depressing media tends to help me.
I am reading the HP series for the millionth time of my 30-year life, and I realize what I love and savor of each book is not so much the overarching plot (although I love that too), but the in-between bits that show life in the world JKR built.
Like Harry getting his wand from Olivanders. Or the Death Day party at Hogwarts. Doing homework by the fire. Everything about the Burrow (my dream home).
It got me thinking; are there any books that still have that magical and aspirational world building but with lower stakes? Like Kiki’s delivery service for example, or the Harry Potter slice of life fan fiction by Floreat Castellum.
Edit/update: wow thank y’all so much for the book recommendations! Some of these books look so cool even the titles got me excited lol. And I didn’t realize there was an entire sub genre that describes what I’m going after - cozy fantasy- so thank you! I’m excited to go to the library this week ❤️
Just finished The Second Coming by John Niven and found myself laughing out loud as I read along (sometimes in public).
Whats a book that made you physically laugh throughout?
I’m alittle drunk and this just popped into my head. I don’t even really like reading sex scenes but this seemed like fun question so go wild.
I could barely 150 hours, so I am just so confused on people who have THOUSANDS. For people who do, what game is it?
My most played games are Cyberpunk 2077 and Dying Light 2, both with around 150. So if you know games that can last longer without getting too boring, I’d like to know!
I absolutely love games where you start off as a nobody, facing struggles in the beginning, overcoming challenges, grinding skills, improving your equipment, and building yourself up to a position of power. It feels rewarding to witness my character’s development and be on the journey with them to greatness.
Some games I’ve played and loved with this theme include Kingdom Come Deliverance (where you start off as a peasant boy), Horizon Zero Dawn (playing as an outcast), and Elden Ring.
I don’t mind trying out different genres, as I enjoy a variety of games. I’d just like the core concept to be present. Preferably, the game is available on PS5, but I’m also open to games on PC.
Got any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance :)
Edit: Wow, I didn’t expect this post to get a lot of attention. You all left some wonderful game suggestions, and unfortunately, I can’t reply back to everyone, but I’m reading all of the comments. I know I’ll be busy these next few weeks trying out …
Heyya fellas, so best mates in a better place, he left his account details on his suicide note, any suggestions?
Looks like this sub won’t let me post pics, but I’ll try post a link
Looking for a game like Wow/Diablo/Torchlight/Grim Dawn/Path of Exile where you just have a ton of classes and abilities to play the game with over and over again. I’m not looking for something like Skyrim which I have played and enjoyed but the progression is more linear. Let me press QWER to my heart’s content
Diablo 3 was fun for its time, Diablo 4 is pretty fun so far, but I don’t like the way items are scaled to your character’s level. So it just feels like you’re grinding to marginally improve your gear until you can’t improve your gear anymore without having to hunt down the super rare unique.
Diablo 2 felt different in the way items dropped. For one, you didn’t get items that were specifically catered to the class you were playing as. I enjoyed this because it encouraged me to try out other classes once I built up a collection of gear that wouldn’t work for my current character, but would for some other class and build. Then D2 also had three difficulties and three tiers of items (normal for normal difficulty, exceptional for nightmare difficulty, and elite for hell difficulty). Up to each act, all enemies had a chance of dropping to a certain level item. This was cool because when some exceptional items were worth keeping. Then if you wanted to find the really rare items, you’d have …
So I am reading the siege of Terra from the 40k universe, and it reminds me in many ways of HALO Reach. It was one of my favorite games of all time, and one of the things I loved about it was the story of a group of super soldiers who despite their extreme abilities were forced to fight an utterly hopeless losing battle. Each mission and moment is a protracted desperate last stand to try and fend off an impossibly overwhelming foe while you attempt to save as many lives as possible.

I was wondering if there are any other games like that out there? Maybe even if they dont necessarily lose at the very end, ones where they are at least consistently fighting against extreme odds and perhaps slowly losing along the way?

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! I did not expect to come back to so many great recommendations! I dont think I would be able to get to every comment so Ill just say here thank you so much for the options. I have a ton of great games to check out …
