I’m new to shortcuts and wanted to make things easier for my Bluetooth connections. Such as play music after it’s connected. I use Spotify and they only have one option. This is sad for 2024. Makes me want to switch to Apple Music.
Hey all! I decided to up my game a bit and make a shortcut that takes a visual output and returns a calendar event. It has worked quite well when I’ve tested it out but feel free to come with suggestions!
Here’s a summary: * Takes in a photo (you get to choose from camera, last photo, last screenshot or choosing from photos app) * Extracts text from photo * Sends text to GPT and formats it. If no date, start/end time, title or description is found, you’ll be prompted to add the information missing.

I can execute any shortcut idea that comes to your mind, but I’m looking for something that will challenge me. I know that some people might say, ‘It’s basically the concept of the request flair,’ but people in this subreddit often ask for easy things that aren’t challenging enough for me. So, if you have an idea for a shortcut that you’ve never been able to implement, post it in the comments, and I’ll see what I can do. 😉
Here are a few shortcuts that I’ve created:
Looks like someone finally cracked the url to create shortcuts to the “charging optimization” page to quickly toggle between 80% Limit, etc. Still not clear how to create a shortcut to automatically enable/disable the 80% limit. Any ideas?
Also FYI, the shortcut address to get to that page in iOS 17.4 is:
prefs:root=BATTERY_USAGE&path=CHARGING_TITLE

Just curious to see what things people are paying for and if they feel it’s worth it.
Hi! I’m looking for some new podcasts to listen to - but here’s the thing. I’m a little bit fussy and I’ve tried a whole bunch that haven’t met my criteria. I come from England and that’s the type of comedy that I’m used to, like the stuff you see on the TV channel Dave. I like some American podcasters, but if they’re loud and over-enthusiastic it makes it unbearable for me to listen to. The only American podcasters that I really love are the McElroys. I’ve tried some other MaxFun pods (Oh No Ross and Carrie, The Flop House, Shmanners, Wonderful) but I just didn’t like them that much. I also really like D&D.
Here are the podcasts that I currently listen to, in order of how much I like them from top to bottom: - MBMBaM - The Adventure Zone - Off Menu - Dungeons and Daddies - Sawbones - Dimension 20 - Critical Role - Parenting Hell - No Such Thing As A Fish - Taskmaster The Podcast
Feels like a lot but 10 hours a week just …
A bit of a niche request! I’m trying to help myself become less of a social hermit and more of a genuine people person. I think it’s there in me somewhere, just buried beneath a mountain of insecurity and anxiety. Obviously therapy would be the first answer, but does anyone have any helpful podcasts about this subject?
Any recommendations for podcasts about self improvement, lifestyle, discipline, success, all of that, basically just about getting your life together and keeping it that way? 😭 one geared towards women would be nice but it’d be fine if not.
So call me a necromancer, because I’m still using it. Idk how, but I can still listen on Google podcasts and I’m still getting updates when new episodes come out (as of one hour ago). Anyone else necromancing right now?
For some reason hearing people sharing the ups and downs of their existence and taking in the highs and lows of the human experience just ends up feeling cathartic to me.
I think there’s a term for this, yet it escapes me.
So, any recommendations?
Could be breakups, deaths, suicides, false imprisonments etc etc.
Just want to hear humans share their stories and the things they have survived.
I can’t quite explain this the way I’d like, but I think you all will get the drift.
I don’t know if humor books are even a thing, but I want to read more and I love a good laugh. Everything from deep smart humor to absolutely stupid (like parody movies)
Edit: Thank you all for the suggestions! Can’t wait for people to ask why I’m laughing while reading
I just bought a Kindle to get into reading more. I’m a huge fan of non fiction but only if it’s easy to digest! Any recs? It can be anything from history, science, biographies..
What are some philosophy/philosophical books everyone should read at least once in their lifetime?
I’ve stuck in the same place in my life for some time now. I have small kids and have been very sick the last few months, so I’m barely surviving. I look around me, everybody is traveling, achieving new things, getting promoted. I read midnight library and didn’t like it. So I’m looking for something (fiction or not) to give me some new perspective of life. Thank you so much.
I am not an avid reader. I mean I don’t read many books but I surf the net a lot and read articles and news etc. I must have read about 35-40 books all my life. Now I am planning to read books more and would like to know from the book lovers ( esp the hardcore ones), in what positive ways has reading books ( both good and bad) affected your life? If you hadn’t read the books you have, in what way you’d have been different as a person?
I feel like life is gonna hit me in the face. I’ve seen it happen.
I’m almost 30 and I’ve never had a real job. I wake up at 11, sit behind my computer all day, and just eat.
Not good.
After being recommended so many great titles asking for RPGs with bigger party sizes (thanks again if any of you are reading this!).
I’m back again to request you give me the game that broke you, had you thinking about it for days afterward. The one you just don’t know if you could ever play again.
For me, it was telltales the walking dead season 1.
Edit- too many people to thank individually but thanks everyone! This sub is awesome.
I’m looking for games that you can play for hours without even realizing time has passed; ones that really immerse and engross you in them. Single-player is preferred, but multi-player co-op games are fine aswell. No pvp games, unless pvp is completely optional for progress. I’m on PC.
Most genres should be fine, but i tend to like resource management, survival, simulators, space and fantasy/medieval. Regardless of the genre, I need the games to have a lot of replayability. This tends to make sinking hours into them significantly easier.
Below are the lists of games I’ve enjoyed and the ones i didn’t like so you can acquire my “taste” in games.
Games I’ve enjoyed - Terraria. 700+ hours, love it but can’t do another playthrough lol - Minecraft. Just doesn’t keep my attention anymore unfortunately. - No man’s sky. Similar to Terraria, really dont want to start a new game. - Subnautica. One of the best survival games. - Deep …
Hey guys, i would like to know what’s your best gems ever, and I’m not talking about AAA games, i want something hidden yet so fun to play. I’m up for anything, cheers
EDIT: I have reviewed all your comments so far, and there were many varieties, genres and gems. And I’m thankful for yall
I just started playing with mouse and keyboard so I’d love some games to practice because It feels awkward and I’m kinda bad. I’ve been on console my whole life too so keyboard just feels unnatural.
