UPDATE: I made it easier to customize these so they are tailored more towards you via questions at the start of the app. The only thing that you would probably need to customize manually is the workout section in the morning routine.
I am a new mom. I used to meditate, journal, read, etc almost every morning. But now that I have a 4.5 month old things are a little different. I am just now getting some time back in the mornings and evenings but I find myself still struggling to do my calming routines. Instead, I just want to numb out and scroll on my phone.
I am by no means a shortcut expert, so I am not sure if I created these in the best way (open to feedback) but I did really enjoy this little project making these two shortcuts that have helped me feel more calm when I wake up and go to sleep! Both shortcuts are linked at the bottom of this post.
I had ChatGPT read me the shortcut functions in the style of a “friendly, encouraging spiritual friend” but sometimes I have fun …
I figured i make a simple shortcut that can check battery health and get device details and do some other stuff

Hi everyone hope all is well!! I just started getting into shortcuts and automations

Appreciate all the help❤️
Hello guys … After years of not using iOS I’m back to this OS. I really miss extra dim feature on my iPhone from Android… To solve that I made a shortcut which gives you option to turn on extra dim feature. In settings make sure to adjust the REDUCE WHITE POINT LEVEL ACCORDING TO YOUR COMFORT!!

Thanks to u/devnull, he posted an ios 17.5 beta bug where the charging limit option is titled with its variable name. Can confirm that the deeplink for opening settings directly to the charging limit option is now feasible
The deeplink url is now prefs:root=BATTERY_USAGE&path=CHARGING_TITLE
AFAIK this is the first time I have seen this, across all my googling, githubs, reddits etc
Hope this can also be useful to others
I’m Sam Cole, the host of CBC’s new podcast The Pornhub Empire: Understood, which explores how Pornhub revolutionized the porn industry and the myriad of ways we consume and engage with sex.
Pornhub’s site receives about 100 million visits per day - more than Netflix. But because of the sheepishness and stigma around porn, it’s treated as if it’s fringe, instead of what it really is: one of the biggest websites on the internet.
In the last 17 years, it’s gone from a scrappy, Montreal startup built by frat bros to the household name for porn. Our podcast pulls back the curtain on Pornhub, and throughout the series, you’ll meet former employees, porn performers, abuse material experts, legislators and the site’s new owners.
You can listen to the podcast here: https://link.chtbl.com/xzU6vx65
Ask me anything about Pornhub, the future of online porn, the business of porn, or whatever’s on your mind! I’ll be answering your questions here at 3 PM ET.
I’m a strongly conservative man, and I enjoy podcasts and learning about the arguments on the other side of the aisle. I’m looking for a podcast that is educational, genuinely intelligent and tolerant, and left leaning. Someone who expresses fair and fact based arguments on contentious issues. Let me hear your best suggestions for podcasts that meet these criteria.

In the last 17 years, it’s gone from a scrappy Montreal startup built by frat bros to the household name for porn. Our podcast pulls back the curtain on the Pornhub. We spoke to former employees who told us about what it was like to work at an office where not watching porn would get you into trouble, and the company culture they experienced from the inside. We heard from sex workers who use the site to make a living, or had their own businesses disrupted by the influence of “tube” sites, where porn is free.
And we get into the massive scandal that rocked the company — and the …
I’m going through some rough stuff right now, and just want to zone out and relax while a great host tells me interesting facts. Not trying to be funny, no side conversations. I tried Stuff You Should Know, and it was pretty good, but I am not in the right headspace to listen to chit chat about their lives. Is there anything like Noble Blood or The Constant where an host just tells you an interesting story about the world, geography, nature, culture - anything? Well-researched and well-produced would be a plus. Thanks guys.
Loved to see this.

For years, I have been telling people that if they love podcasts and want to support podcast creators—especially independent ones—they shouldn’t listen to podcasts on Spotify

I watched Spotify’s quick acquisition of the podcast production companies and tech with increasing unease, because I’d seen this film before, and it didn’t end well.
She references Spotify not just buying the exclusive rights to individual podcasts, but seeking to own the entire lifecycle of creating them, as well.
Also explains a bit about the early history of podcasts, and an ELI5 for RSS.
But Spotify—along with many other companies—wants to create a closed ecosystem for the creation, distribution, and consumption of podcasts, bypassing RSS technology altogether because that would allow them to harvest more listener data to leverage with advertisers. …
That Aged Well released an episode today about the wildly underrated 90s film, Drop Dead Fred!
If you were an unattended xennial kid like myself then this movie may have burrowed into your soul forever too. Go listen to That Aged Well’s episode and after listen to How Did This Get Made’s episode and tell me what team you’re on because their discussion nearly ended friendships 😆
Looking for suggestions of those books where you finished reading it and then felt compelled to go recommend it to all your friends, or the books where you wanted to discuss it with someone else afterward because you needed to sort through the character’s actions or a plot twist or something that left you hanging.
I’ve read a fair amount of books over the last years but I don’t think I’ve ever read a single one that gave me the 5-star-feeling that people always talk about… What is your all time favorite book? (I mainly read romance and thrillers but open to explore new genres)
My favorite authors tend to be male, but I’d like to think that it’s only because I don’t know about the female writers of humorous speculative fiction. Little help?
The title basically says it all. Can you please suggest books that have helped you get out of a rut? Right now I kind of feel like everything and everyone sucks, the world is on fire, and ideally I would run into the mountains and never look back. The books don’t need to be about solitary characters but anything that either has the vibe of this post OR anything that is inspiring and hopeful without being repetitive and preachy with one dimensional characters (ie: no The Alchemist, no A Man Called Ove 🤢) not looking necessarily looking for escapism and definitely not looking for self help type books. Thank you all!
EDIT: you all are amazing. Thank you all for the incredible suggestions. If I start a goblin community in the mountains, you’re all welcome to come live there alone, together.
I’m totally hooked on ‘Fight Club’ by Chuck Palahniuk, and I just wrapped up ‘The Metamorphosis’ by Kafka. Kinda fell in love with that one too, weirdly enough.
I realized both books give me this wild ‘fever dream’ vibe that I can’t get enough of. Got any recommendations for something with that same feel? Preferably a shorter read. Thanks!
Just finished after seeing the title EVERYWHERE on this sub. I was always intimidated by the length and am not a fan of westerns.
I get it now. Need to go pick the sand out of my teeth because I was right there with them.
Awesome book.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I am looking for a pc game (regardless of genre) that will make me forget what life is. Drop your most addictive games that will give me countless of hours of content. Thank you in advance!
So I’ve been thinking about how one of my favourite things to see in movies is flying scenes done well - where flight feels dynamic, exhilarating and has this sense of freedom to it (like in the How To Train Your Dragon series or basically any Ghibli movie). I was wondering what games captured a similar feeling. Honestly not fussed about about specific mechanics or even if the game is mainly about flying or not, i just wanna soar!
thanks :))
EDIT: i’m kinda new on reddit (driven off all other social media by bots and monetisation and endless advertising) and honestly it is just so nice here i really respect how happy y’all are to share your knowledge
I don’t have a lot of time for games, only something around 1-2 hours a week to play. Can you suggest me some PC games that don’t require a huge time investment and also don’t waste your time? I like to play many genres so no specific requirements there on my side.
Thank you :)
What are some games where you can just walk around and admire the world, not even doing anything but walking and looking around?
Is there any game where, in example, you play as the Combine from Half-Life, AND you shoot the civilians because otherwise you get a “STATUS: UNIT DISCONTINUED - OBSOLETE. REASON: VIRAL OUTBREAK SYMBIOSIS” (Translation: Player has actively engaged in actions that assist the civilians, and hinder the actions of their Combine squad mates. Simple empathetic actions like sparing wounded civilians would result in the player’s death).
- An important distinction is that the “police” in Half-Life 2 are not brainwashed, but the soldiers are, so while Entropy: Zero fits with its protagonist, a game where you play as a CP with no real choice in the matter doesn’t exist, and when it does it’s always presented as if they’re clearly enjoying it.
In Half-Life 2, officers who fail to complete their orders get their entire family executed, civilians who don’t rat out their friends get collectively punished by having their allotted daily food …
Looking for some awesome game suggestions, ones that you wish you could experience for the first time again. To give you an example of what I am looking for I wish I could experience God of War Ragnarok for the first time, that plot twist was just perfect, chief kiss. I have access to all old Xbox’s and PlayStations (including the PS5) . A N64, a Wii U, a Switch, a PS Vita, a PSP, a GameCube and a Dreamcast.
