Welcome, try out the new Health Shortcut!
The Health shortcut streamlines your daily activity logging on the Health app. It presents a select menu with the following options:
Try it out: https://routinehub.co/shortcut/18547/
By the way, a really useful way to use this is to add it on your Home Screen, or even better set it as your back-tap action or action button for iPhone 15.

Set up an automation for it to run when the alarm is turned off and you can change your name when you set it up. Credit goes to https://www.threads.net/@diegojimenez
Apple is very annoying when it comes to this. I did not discover this, thanks to u/reedx8 we are able to disable any notifications from the Shortcuts app. Confirmed to be working on 17.5.
The comment I stumbled upon:
Toggling in between “Day” and “Week” tabs at top (Settings -> Screen time -> See all app & website activity) until you can finally click on Shortcuts app under notifications at bottom worked for me. From there after turning it off the first time, just keep on toggling in between those tabs until shortcut notifications for both day and week are finally turned off completely. Very weird bug.
I feel like I’ve gone through every single podcast worth spending my time with, which feels awful when I’m kind of addicted 😟
Lately I’ve been thinking I wanna start listening to podcasts about “the unexplained”. Not sure what more to call it, because it can be about anything from survival stories that shouldn’t be possible, to unexplained natural phenomenon, unexplained mysteries (like the crying statue), to strange encounters etc. I just want to feel something; shocked, amazed, terrified, maybe even sad…I don’t know!
Some of my favorite podcasts have been:
S-town, Someone knows something S2, Bear Brook, Bone Valley, Sorry about the kid, Dateline, This is actually happening, Your own backyard, This American Life, The nosleep podcast, Radio Rental, Heavyweight, Radiolab, The memory palace, Sweet Bobby.
None of these are specifically about the unexplained, as you can see - but based on this list, I’m hoping someone can recommend …
I’m looking for podcasts that have exactly two main hosts who have great chemistry with each other. Like Maintenance Phase or Morbid. I like feeling like I’m part of a conversation, but podcasts with more than two hosts are overwhelming to me. The podcast can have guests sometimes, but there should be two main hosts who are consistently in the podcast. I’m open to a variety of topics. Thanks!
Recently I have been getting into podcasts, starting with Andrew Huberman and his amazing podcast on dopamine(we all have heard it). He seems amazing for everything related to our brain.
I repeat I am a beginner in terms of podcast and would love to get more podcast for world politics, Physical health, business, communication(speaking. and listening) and if there is any unbiased* Indian political news podcast.
You can also suggest any podcast you specifically like for any niche thing’s that you love (except beekeeping I have it sorted out)
Please exclude premium podcast I already pay for spotify as I thought that would give me most of them considering their musical library.
One narrated by a actual proffesional would be great if I am honest (provides a sense of security).
I am looking for some new podcasts to add to my listening list. What I want is something kind of nerdy and interesting about any cool topic but I don’t want anything overly serious or academic. Also, I am not much into celebrity culture and US politics (nothing against it, it’s just that I am not from US).
Some cool examples of what I am looking for:

Thank you so much in advance!
My wife is a psychotherapist and will soon start listening to podcasts for her commute.
I’m searching for podcasts that she might find informative, interesting or useful for her profession. It’s the sort of job where it’s important to continually learn
After reading the more than 150 replies I received to my post yesterday, I just had to make another one to express my grattitude!
I nearly teared up when I saw how many of you had taken the time to reply, with so many detailed and great recommendations. Going through some tough things atm, like losing my dad to cancer and at the same time watching my mom slowly disappear to Alzheimer’s. Podcasts have become my escape from my own pain of losing so much, while having to be strong as a single mom to my 3 kids.
So you have no idea how much this meant to me…Now I have several more months of great listening to look forward to!
THANK YOU 🥰
P.S: If you like the podcasts I listed as my favorites, I can recommend one that I rarely see mentioned anywhere:
Relative Unknown
This one is in my top 10. Check it out. You won’t regret it 😉
Basically what the title states. Which non-fiction book has that extremely absorbing, can’t put down quality to it?
Hey, I’ve been married for almost 3 years now and have a 3-month-old baby. My wife and I have been having a lot of disagreements, even about small things. I want to be a better husband, so I’m looking for some books to read that can help me with that.
Hi everyone, I love reading but find myself always reading the same type of stuff or just not knowing what to read next so I’ll be making a list of the first 50 (not sure if I will even get that many recommendations but why not dream big) recommendations from this post into a list of books to be read. You can recommend fiction or nonfiction and any genre except no horror or thriller (I’d like to go to bed with the lights off and I get scared very easily lol). I can’t wait to see how the list will grow.
Edit: Wow I am blown away by how many people left a recommendation. It may take quite a long time but I hope to get to all the recommendations eventually. I’ll also be keeping track of the books I’ve read so far here.
Book Recommendations
I am a big fan of old fairy tales. I often unwind by reading the Blue Fairy Book. I have been very stressed lately. I don’t need a complex plot, just give me princesses, quests and magical lands!
I recently turned 25 and my life just sucks. I have no friends, I hate my job, never been in a relationship, have no skills, and am getting over a weed addiction. I’ve been depressed pretty much my entire adult life.
I feel like I figured out the rules of the game too late. I want to be motivated and I want to change, but it’s really tough knowing how much time I’ve lost and how difficult the road ahead will be. I’m hoping I could get some book recommendations that might be able to inspire me and give me hope, or even just something to help keep my head up.
I don’t really know what I’m looking for. Nonfiction, fiction, whatever. I just want to read. I’ve not been a huge reader but I’ve really enjoyed reading Kurt Vonnegut and Neil Gaiman.
Edit: thanks for all the recs so far everyone, I have a lot to get through now! Also no, I’m not interested in Jordan Petersen
I’m not looking for romance, I look for something that will make me cry about another topic, it can include romance but not being the main topic.
Since I don’t have much time to pkay anymore, are there any fun games where you can quickly hop on and don’t require you to pkay for hours at a time?
What games are must-plays for AAA/singleplayer players? I’m talking abt the 10⁄10 games, the truly top tier ones - absolute masterpieces, or close to that level. Old games are welcome suggestions as well.
Just recently got a beefy pc to play games and I’m wondering what to play on it. Only real games I’ve ever played were RDR2 and RDR1, both of which I love dearly, but they’ve gotten old after an insane 750+ hours worth of playtime.
Edit: Oh my god, thank you all for the responses. I would have NEVER expected to get nearly 500 comments, maybe 5 at most. At this point I’ll have endless games to play. Thank you all SO much. And when I said that the only real games I’ve played were RDR1 & 2, they are the only AAA games I’ve played. Most of my time has been spent on Roblox and competitive shooters, but I fell in love with singleplayer / open world games after playing RDR2.
I have hit rock bottom in every aspect of my life.
Do you have any suggestions of video games that can help me on this journey to rising up?
I need some new crack. Preferably not an ARPG (since I’ve played them all) and not survival craft.
Example games:
Hades/Gunfire Reborn/Dead Cells/Risk of Rain
Satisfactory/Factorio/Dyson Sphere
Monster Hunter World
Void Crew
Borderlands
I built a PC for the first time about a year ago, and I have loved it so much - decked everything out with new peripherals, lighting, etc. But sometimes, I want to be able to kick back in my desk chair, recline comfortably, and play a game with my controller.
Please not any Soulslikes; I love them, but I wouldn’t consider them something that I can kick back to play lol any other genre is fair game.
I’ve really enjoyed games such as Portal, Ori, There Is No Game, and a myriad of other story-driven games.
More recently, though, I played and completed Outer Wilds, and only just completed the DLC. Suffice to say, it’s one of the few games which really left me in awe after I completed it. Other games have stirred incredible emotion within me, but there was something unique to the ending(s) of Outer Wilds which just left me completely awe-struck.
I partly wonder if it was because the ending was just so unpredictable, where most other games have a linear “save the day” type story. Outer wilds is so unique, and has such an unimaginable ending incomparable to any other game I’ve played. It has taken me multiple months even to fully process the ending, and total culmination of the various different aspects of the game.
What other games leave you feeling like this after completion?
