I love it so far, just gone one tiny problem: When it’s sleeping and I try to get it back into my hand, it does not always come back on the first try. There must be something I’m doing wrong. Does someone have some advice on this?
i’ve been slacking out a bit the Last like, 5 years, but i guess that i’m kind a picking up some motivation again ? anyway, here is a little trick with some new entry
My tripod broke after i filmed this ☹️ but I landed it pretty clean 😊 🪀YYF Shutter wide angle

My wife and I and another couple are headed to Canada for a road trip (gotta get out of the US for July 4). I’m looking for something without a lot of intro/inside jokes/cohost banter. We like true crime, history, Freakenomics, music, etc. I was thinking of Casefile, One Song (I am a music nerd) or Smartless. Anything cool We can check out?
I would love to support more Canadian podcasters, as I realized all of the ones I listen to are American!
I love true but unexplained stories and podcasts.
P.S. I despise LPOTL and their shouty and annoying style.
In many cases now, all of these hours and hours of people talking to each other about their lowest moments, etc., etc. are essentially just amateur therapy. It can be interesting, but it can also just be really indulgent. Does anyone else find this?
Edit: I’m talking mainly about ones where it’s a celebrity interviewing another celebrity about their life. This seems to be especially prevalent in British podcasts e.g. the Adam Buxton show or the Louis Theroux one.
I remember they had some crime stories and a friend told me to check them out. I just randomly remember them but can’t find any episodes from them. Anyone know what happened?
Examples of types podcasts or episodes I like:
- What Went Wrong: This is the podcast I probably listen to most consistently. I like that they usually stick to the topic. Like, I’m American, but the American version of “banter”, if you can call it that, in so many shows I just don’t seem to get - where if you aren’t already familiar the hosts, it feels like 4th, 5th, 6th wheeling a friend group where you feel out of place like you don’t belong. I like that they get straight into it, it’s very information-dense, and my favorite parts are when they know how ridiculous the events or situation is that they’re describing and can’t help but to break into giggles.
- Roel Konijnendijk: I have to admit that this isn’t quite a podcast, but I do enjoy some of his movie review episodes on youtube. The first in particular I thought was best because similarly, you can hear the laughter in his voice over how silly and dumb and nonsensical …
Some of my favorite books are Demon Copperhead, Pachinko, and Kafka on the Shore. I don’t even know how to explain it, but I just love stories that follow people through pain, growth, and transformation — the kind of books where the characters feel so real, their journey becomes part of yours. I get completely pulled into their lives, and when it’s over, I just sit there… not ready to let go.
I think I’m drawn to books with strong character development, deep emotional arcs, maybe even multi-generational family stories like Pachinko. Something that’s not just sad for the sake of it, but layered — beautiful, heartbreaking, and meaningful all at once.
I guess I just want a book that will break me a little — in a good way — and leave me thinking about it for days. If you’ve ever finished a book and felt like you left a part of yourself inside it, that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
Hear me out. I started re-reading Harry Potter in college as a way to wind down before bed (and also avoid doing homework). The books have served as a low threat, comforting way for me to escape and relax. Is there any “comforting” fantasy or sci-fi series for adults that are easy and fun to read? Have found I’m enjoying the HP books less and also trying to stop supporting Rowling.
ETA: Can’t get over how helpful this community is. I am so grateful for all the recommendations and should be set for life :) excited for a new cozy wind down read.
We talk about a lot of books here, but I’m looking for a good author to read all the books. I’m looking for an author that you’re always waiting for the next book to come out because you know it will be good! Or an author that you loved all the books! Thank you!
As a teen, I had an obsession with what I can now only call “wild women”. There was this archetype in my head: a powerful, dangerous, sometimes supernatural young woman who could take what she wanted, go where she wanted. She is a werewolf, or a witch, or a member of a girl gang. She isn’t necessarily violent, but she always has the power to be violent.
Lately I’ve been thinking about my wild women again. I’m looking for recommendations of books that star characters like this. I see my wild women as existing in the present day, but I’m willing to try other settings. I usually don’t like books that center around a romance.
I really don’t know if there’s anything that exudes that kind of atmosphere other than a dream, but everyone sees different things, so I’m not sure we’d have the same feeling in mind. X-Files kind of captures it, but it’s still too grounded. Any picks?
Looking to expand my nonfiction book collection and there are just SO MANY options I don’t even know where to start. Big fan of true crime and history. Drop your suggestions! TIA

I’m after a game where you carry a sidearm like a pistol or revolver, but you’re not some action hero mowing people down. I want the gun to feel like a last resort, something that adds tension rather than power. Ideally the shooting is rare, meaningful, and hits hard when it does happen.
I like the idea of it being in a city/town but I’m not too fussy
Recently finished Outer Wilds and Disco Elysium. Both wrecked me in the best way.
Now I’m in that awkward limbo where nothing hits quite the same.
Looking for:
Not really into live service games or endless grind. I want something I can finish, but still think about 6 months later.
What’s your “I wish I could play it for the first time again” game?
To list a few I’ve played:
That dragon, cancer. (really really sad game about a kid diagnosed with cancer)
Before your eyes. (Just finished this an hour ago, A unique game where the controls are your blinks,)
The beginners guide (Not as sad as the others, but still what I’m looking for, I consider this game a must-play especially if you’re a game dev)
The kind of slow narrative burn, goes for a few hours and makes you cry by the end, I really like sad games/movies for some unknown reason, and I’m looking for game recommendations that fit this category.
Edit: I only have a pc so I can’t play console exclusives
I’ve been introducing some video games to my gf, starting with the more popular and iconic, first showed her pokemon and she absolutely fell in love with it immediately. I then showed her Baldur’s Gate 3, and same thing, so I thought she would just love anything. But then I showed her two more: Portal, and The Witcher 3. Neither of which she liked, Portal freaked her out with the unsettling setting and sound in the beginning, and she didn’t like that enemies can just sort of attack you out of the blue in TW3. She didn’t make it past the very first ghouls with vesemir.
So I would like games where things can’t jump out at you a la pokemon and bg3. Maybe turn based is the best way, but I don’t think it necessarily has to be turn based
Also any suggestions that would be good for introducing the sort of combat system that is so common, but something quite slow and easy to get her used to it, so maybe eventually she can experience all the amazing games …
Pretty much just the title, I want to sit down in the discord call just talking, watching YouTube, listening to music whatever while turning my brain off and grinding skills. It might sound like a stupid example but the best one I have right now is Hypixel Skyblock. I like the game still having goals and things to do outside of said skills of course but I love just sitting and mining, chopping, fishing, farming, etc for hours on end without much thinking.

I just updated my app Locally AI to support selecting a local model in the shortcut “Ask Locally AI”. It was a feature many people requested for this shortcut.
The shortcut allows you to ask a local model (yeah I know like the iOS26 “Use Model” shortcut but here you can choose the model).
Everything is running on-device.
Hi all, just found shortcuts on my phone, having a play, inspired by JARVIS from iron man. I’d love to know what your favourite shortcut is? And if you’re happy to link it below?

If you have Live Photo option turned on like me and have photos that don’t benefit from it, just take your space: this is shortcut for you!
It’ll tell you how much space will be freed up
It keeps all metadata intact!
Very simple shortcut for when even the lowest volume option is still too loud… Minimum = 0.001 https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/2acd65d9d40347e2bc592e12df03cd77
So this is the second time now that Shortcuts has completely wiped my large shortcut, and then synced the blank shortcut across devices.
I don’t know whether this is an issue with shortcuts or iCloud sync integration, but the fact it’s happened twice is a telltale sign something is definitely broken. I am on 18.5 on all my devices.
Luckily, I make duplicates of shortcuts every time I finish editing them, and these duplicates allow me to restore the lost data.
Beware!
