Hey all,
I’m having friends that don’t use instagram because of privacy concerns. Instagram offers the option to share content with others providing a link. That link contains a share id which makes it possible to track the usage back to you. So when my friend clicks on the link meta knows that he is connected with me.
Removing the share id is fairly simple but also stupid work when you have to do it every time by yourself. So i created a shortcut that removes the share id and copies the link to my clipboard.
Maybe it helps somebody. :)
Cheers
What are you most used/game-changing shortcuts that you use on a daily basis?
Not sure if this has been trialled before, or It’s an original idea. In effort to trigger shortcuts quickly (and in the absence of an action button on older iphone) I stuck an NFC tag on a slider(laptop camera blocker thing) and used automation to trigger a shortcut when NFC detected.
It is, however, unreliable. It works 60-70% of the time.
Any suggestions on how to make this better?

Converts an image to a video then opens it in Safari. After closing the PiP window the tab will close automatically. Useful for pinning images on the screen.
There might be a better way to do this but I felt inspired by iOS 18 to make some AI shortcuts. Let me know if you see any improvements I can make.
Basically it does this. You can ramble to GPT a list of items or tasks and it’s instructed to generate a csv.
The shortcut then takes that csv and loops through it to create a new list and add the items to it.
Problems: Dictated text still closes if it hears a pause even though I have it set to Tap.
Since I’m not using the api it generates a chat on my GPT app. Which is fine but I might want to fix that if I can.
Still asks for permission to write to reminders.
Hi everyone ,
So I have an anxiety disorder and as much as I love them I can’t keep listening to true crime podcasts and audio books. Because if I do my paranoid ass will become even more paranoid lol.
Things I’m looking for in a podcast -
Light and airy , Feels like a natural chat
Pop culture/lifestyle/listener advice etc.
Female hosts (but not essential)
No Australian or Kiwi podcasts (I’m Australian and TBH I don’t like listening to our accent on podcasts also they’re the ones that are recommended to me on Spotify so I’ve explored most of them)
Available on Spotify or Youtube (though I also have apple podcasts and can use it if needed I’d just prefer Spotify or Youtube so I can listen on my laptop).
Podcasts I like
Dumb Blonde by Bunnie
Girls Bathroom by Cinzia and Sophie
Docusweeties by Chris and Wah
Camp Chaos by Kendra and Taylor
Happy and Healthy by Jeanine
Saving Grace by Grace
The Breakup breakdown by Abby
The Weekly …
I want to know if you’ve found a podcast with such a specific niche or approach that they may be the only podcast out there of their kind and you haven’t come across another like it.
Okay maybe I’m completely out of the loop, but all these different podcasts having monthly subscriptions is ruining podcasts for me entirely.
I forget which, but I listened to a whole season and the very last ep required me to pay to hear it. Then just now I started Wild Boys and you have to subscribe for $6.49 USD a month after the first ep. Just block me off completely don’t trick me into paying.
I understand artists being paid and whatnot, but that’s what all the ads are for. Is it not unrealistic to expect people to sign up for multiple podcast channels?
Are you guys paying? I’d rather pay a one time fee of $6.49 to listen to the podcast than a subscription I’m probably going to forget to cancel 😩
Hey there, I’ve been listening to loads of podcasts after starting my new job but I already find I’m running out of content or getting tired of the same podcasts. Please recommend anything to me, but I’ve listened mostly to Last Podcast on the Left, My Brother My Brother and Me, The Adventure Zone, Sawbones, and Smosh Reddit Stories… Thanks
Edit: HOLY CRAP Thanks for all the recommendations! I won’t run out of podcasts to listen to now, that’s for sure.
First of all, thank you to all people suggesting S-Town. I went there convinced it was a true crime pod and it was not at all what I was expecting. And because of it, it was great! I really loved it and listened to it within 24 hours. So, thank you all. Often, I find jems based on this sub suggestions.
Now that the bar is set so high I need your help again. Do you have suggestions about other podcasts that are as goos as S-Town?
Yes, it’s true. I only have one episode left. I’ve devoured this series over the course of the last couple of weeks and I don’t want it to end. So it sits. I would listen to multiple episodes everyday, but here I am. I don’t want to push play. I don’t want this to be the last one.
I love the idea of the podcast and Goldstein’s self proclaimed life’s purpose: to be the guy that helps others do the things they want or need to do.
So when I do finally get around to listening to it, what should I listen to after?
I want you to tell me what is the best book you have read and its genre so that I can be inspired too, it can also be series of books. I’m especially interested in fiction, I don’t read non-fiction.
Edit: God, how many good recommendations I received!! I have read some of them, and I have already started to make a paper list of the rest. Thank you!!
Ideally some books that aren’t already super popular, but all genres welcome! Thanks :)
I have cried 0 times because of a book and I have cried exactly 1 time because of a movie (when BingBong died in Inside Out LMFAO).
Why would I like to cry, you ask? It’s because I feel left out and sociopathic!!! I’ve read a lot of books where people say it broke their hearts - most recently Song of Achilles (5 stars btw) - and yeah it’s sad, but I don’t cry.
So please rec me a book that shatters my heart so I can cure my Emotion FOMO
Edit: I have read a lot of the recs here! I just finished replying to all the ones I’ve already read
Please stop recommending anything John Green, any classic with a dog, a thousand splendid sons, the book thief, or Charlotte’s Web, for I have read them all and they did not thaw my cold heart
I don’t read a lot. But I borrowed a book from my sister called silent patient and damn what a mind fuck that was. What books would you recommend?
Pretty much the title.
What’s a book that’s so good or made such a big impact on you that you wish you could erase your memory to experience it all over again?
I recently turned 19 and kind of lost my passion for reading. I realized that when I was reading, I didn’t read many “meaningful” books. What five books would you recommend that I read before I turn 20 to make be a more well-rounded person?
I’m looking for some more games that are just pure fun - games you’ve replayed over and over because they have great game feel, and great minute to minute gameplay. Stuff that’s tactile and satisfying. Some of my favorites that fit the bill:
Looking for any games where you can choose to play in a stealthy way, for instance stealing and assassinating, backstabbing, sniping etc as a fully viable path to completion. I was thinking about when i played Morrowind and i spent the first XX hours using nothing but a bow and dagger but when i went to start the main quest, thinking i was over leveled, i died immediately every time i had to go hand to hand. I know what mistakes i made there, but wondering if there is such a game
Most games in which you play as a soldier just send you from one mission to the next, with no downtime in between. Are there any non-isometric games where you actually get to spend time at a base with your fellow soldiers, just participating in day-to-day stuff between the missions? I’m already a big Mass Effect fan, so you don’t have to suggest that one.
Looking for (preferably medieval or space) games where leveling up is fun and you unlock new cool stuff.
Already played most big games, looking for more diamonds in the rough games.
Already played games like:
BG3
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Skyrim
etc.
I’ve enjoyed stuff like minecraft being able to do what you however you want.
I’ve also enjoyed botw and totk for the same ideas to. Also gonna look into vintage story
Games that just let you fly off the rails
I used to be able to completely lose track of time being immersed in the world and experience of whatever game I was playing. Stardew Valley had me captivated for weeks when it first came out. Same with Breath of the Wild and Subnautica. Recently I purchased Helldivers 2 and I really enjoyed it for about two weeks before it started to feel like a chore getting those daily missions done. So I went back to my old ‘watering hole’ of Dota which is what I’ve played steadily for close to two decades now, but even that has started to feel like a chore or like I’m just getting a ‘fix’ lately. I’d like to find a game to immerse myself in and recapture some of that magic and joy of discovering something new. Do you all have any suggestions?
