This is not “Vocal Shortcuts”. This is an additional Accessibility feature and you can find it at:
Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Sound Actions.
My favourite are the below two sounds, cause they can be made without any effort.
Sh Just say short “Shhhhh”
S-Sound Join upper and lower front teeth and say “S”
Give it a try!
Top Tunes is designed to be an easy-to-use and effective shortcut to uncover your most played songs, albums, and artists. The fast analysis coupled with the friendly and cool webpage UI provides a professional feeling and entertaining time.
Along with showing your most played musical media, Top Tunes has a Quick Lists summary page, condensing the data into screenshot-able and shareable content (perfect to brag to your friends!). Finally, there is a consistency page which shows your artists and albums with the top average plays per song.
The most consistent albums and artists are those with the highest average playcount per song. To qualify as an album, it must contain at least 8 songs, ensuring that a single with a high playcount doesn’t overshadow a full album. Similarly, an artist must have at least 25 songs to be considered, preventing a one-hit-wonder with a high-playcount …
This may be obvious to some but I promise there will be users that run into this scenario and create a post to inquire about it down the line. Should you choose to lock an app behind Face ID and I’m assuming Touch ID as I can’t test that, that your automations set for actions of that app may not work due to needing the authentication. This is if you’re using the new option to Require Face ID to open an app byway of tapping and holding onto an app icon on your Home Screen or App Library and selecting the new option.
So for example, if you rely on the Files app to store and retrieve variables within .txt files at a scheduled time and you’re not using your device, your automation will fail if you’ve locked the Files app behind Face ID.
Using the Toolbox Pro and Actions app ways of “locking an app” is not affected by this other than to actually open the app, but also isn’t a solid secure way of doing so.
EDIT: SHORTCUT v3.5 - Nicer menu using vCards - Search when selecting Shortcuts - Easily change backup location in editor - Better confirmation alerts
This Shortcut backs up your Shortcuts with extreme ease. Just choose whether you want to backup all in a single tap, or select which of your Shortcuts to backup from an alphabetized list.
To restore a Shortcut, just tap the file in the Files app, or double click it in Finder. This Shortcut was designed with both iOS and MacOS users in mind, so it will work cross-platform and without any setup.
Enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions or requests!
I just finished Serial and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even whilst listening late, I got the distinct impression it was essentially defining the industry. What other podcasts would you consider ‘essential’ in this way? Regardless of genre/format.
any podcasts that changed your perspective on life? health related or just mentally? anything helps!💖
I need to balance things from u/wadayeshara’s post or I’ll resemble a bowl of oatmeal by the weekend.
EDITED TO ADD: I’m blown away by all these reccs! Thank you ❤️
I feel like I maybe should have specified I’m an early Gen-X female, hard to make laugh.
I LOVE to laugh but my entire, very large family is very funny. Extremely quick, fantastically witty, and very - VERY dry. Low-brow stuff never made a dent in our house. It set me up to be released into the world with the bar set high. I wish it wasn’t the case - I’d like to be able to laugh more easily.
But I will say this, when I do laugh, it’s with my whole body & you can bet your life you’d laugh, too.
ANOTHER EDIT: I find Ricky Gervais to be hysterically funny. I also love Chappelle, Bill Burr and the incomparable George Carlin.
If so, let us know which one! Sometimes you simply need a good cry.
What are your favorite podcasts? Any genre welcome.
Here are mine: - Comedy Bang! Bang! - Threedom - 100% Eat - Red Web - In Review (Kinda Funny) - Random Number Generator Horror Podcast No. 9 - How Did This Get Made? - Unspooled
Wow. That was one of the most interesting in-depth podcasts I’ve listened to. I binged the whole series this past week.
Has anyone learned interesting information since the podcast was released?
Have any recommendations for similar podcasts that are serialized stories? It doesn’t have to be true crime.
Any book that you consider one of your favorites is fine. I just want to know what people would personally consider to be one of the “greatest books ever “
I was thinking about this as I was arranging my bookshelves earlier today and I’m so curious who this is for other folks! For me, Martha Wells, Riley Sager, Grady Hendrix, and Samantha Shannon are folks I always make sure I pre-order and own every title they’ve written.
Curious what everyone else’s are! I’m looking for more authors to become a collector of.
Edit: Omg my dudes, I literally just posted this on a whim before going to the bookstore (lol) and I didn’t expect such a response! Some really great answers, keep ‘em coming :)
Recently got back into reading and I absolutely loved Flowers for Algernon but I’m left heart broken. The last line is still echoing in my head and makes me want to bawl my eyes out every time I think about it. What should I read next? I want something lighthearted but also very interesting. TIA
What are some of your favorite non-fiction books? This could be a fascinating biography, a compelling story, or a book that opened your eyes to new ideas or taught you something valuable.
Hi! I love a good horror or mystery book, but I am open to anything.
I just started reading again, and have recently read a few good books. I’m looking for suggestions from my fellow book lovers for a book that you just can’t put down. One that has you on the edge of your seat, and leaves the mind racing.
Thanks in advance!! I’m almost done with my latest book, so really wanting to find the next one for when I am done.
Looking for recs although it doesn’t have to be supernatural, even a book that made you feel uneasy or creeped out whilst reading. Been wanting to get into horror/thriller but don’t know where to start so any recs welcome.
I have so many friends just spending 500+ hours in a game like it’s no big deal, and maybe for some online games I get that, like Fortnite and Valorant, but most of them have an equal amount of time on games like RDR2, horizon, elden ring, etc (single player games)
So I’m really confused and feeling a bit left out. Don’t get me wrong I think these are some of the best games ever, but I just can never spend so much time in a game. The only game I have spent more than 100 hours on is Elden Ring and Diablo 4, and that’s only because of my stubbornness on some of the bosses in elden ring and seasonal resets in Diablo.
I want to be able to enjoy a game for that long of a time, but I seem to lose motivation whenever I finish the story (GOW is the main example, also Dragon’s Dogma 2 recently), or when I beat the game (I only went to Ng+1 in elden ring and in new game I bomb rushed the bosses). My average amount of time I spend in each game is only 30-50 hours, …
just games with combat that feels good to engage with and is impactful
Of course, the game itself has to be at the very least functioning in all other aspects, but I dont really care if the story is mediocre, or if some gameplay systems aren’t the best. It should be on a acceptable level at the very least, and so long as the combat feels great, ill be willing to give it a try.
Could be melee games or shooters, FPS or TPS, all I care for is some nice combat
I dont like competitive games though
Best few examples I can give are:
I know this is super specific but any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance! :D
Edit: Holy…. 265 comments in under 24 hours. All the suggestions have been awesome so far. I’ve played so many games that have good combat that I was struggling to find new ones to fill that itch. Turns out I’ll be busy for …
As you know there are many games, game types with grind, unlock, upgrade aspects. But most of them become stale after you achieve everything. Is there game can still keep fresh after 100% ?
What’s the point of obtaining a super powerful item if there’s nothing to do with it anymore?
I mostly play souls-like, metroidvanias and rouge-likes when sober but the problems with these games are: 1) Half of the ones I own don’t have multiplayer 2) My friends don’t play these genres 3) These games require too much attention and reflexes for a bunch of fried potheads
So, I was thinking about something more casual and the first that comes to mind is Minecraft, of course, but we’ve already tried it a few times and would like to try something else this time.
I should clarify that I’m not looking for clicker games or those games that play themselves and all you do is collect rewards.
Also (tab targeting) MMO questing just feels like a series of chores that never end. Shit almost gives me anxiety in the way that it never seems to end. It’s like infinitely discovering a new room whenever you’re done cleaning a room.
I used to play PSO2 NGS then switched to Warframe and now I’m looking for something new though I’ll probably continue playing Warframe as well.
Don’t get me wrong I love Just Cause and Far Cry but the staple and whole premise of those games is to overthrow an oppressive government. I’m looking for games where I can cause mayhem and fight an evil government not any government specifically. Would also be a plus if you can fight alongside rebels and other anti government factions vying for control. Any platform works for me as I don’t mind emulating at 30+ fps. Also any genre works for me although I prefer first and third person shooters cause it is more appropriate to the theme. If there is one factor I say I might dislike is co-op games that spam endless hordes of enemies to fight you until you complete an objective however I might also try these out if there are good enough.
