Hi all,
I’m Muslim and part of being Muslim is that we have to pray 5 times a day. The prayer times are based on the sun’s position, which changes throughout the year usually by about one minute per day. The first prayer (called “Fajr”) must be performed between the break of dawn and sunrise. Since sunrise is changing daily, my 5:30am alarm, although good enough to catch the prayer this time of year, means I’m waking up too early as the current year progresses and too late as the next year begins.
I want to maximize the amount of sleep I get, so I created an automation that adjusts my alarm everyday so that the alarm is always 30 min before sunrise all year long.
If you connect this shortcut to an automation that runs daily, everyday it will check what time sunrise is, delete your current Fajr alarm, and create a new one labeled “Fajr” that goes off 30 min before sunrise:

Few prerequisites to get it working right: …
I sleep with my iPhone in bed regularly, sometimes unplugged (I have a MagSafe charger). Noticed I would lose a lot of battery just by tossing and turning activating AOD, so this is an automation to turn it on and off during sleeping hours.
I’m tired of manually adding events displayed on the screen to my calendar. So I build this iOS shortcut, Snap2Schedule, to help me do that with GPT-4o vision.
Just double-tap the back of your phone or use the Action button, and Snap2Schedule will:
I’ve tested it with meeting invitation in Email, movie ticket, doctor’s appointment, and it works amazingly great!

“Oh boy, I’m ready to listen to the Goofy Wacky Hour with the Silly Goobers” The ad that plays before the episode: “A young disabled girl was shot in the fucking face by her stepdad and what happened after will shock you to the core… Sadcast media presents…”
What the hell!? Am I the only one who is targeted these ads before comedy podcasts or it’s a generalized issue with bad algorithms? For me it’s a bummer that ads don’t align with the content I’m about to listen. What do you guys think? Has this ever happened to you?
I need two kind of podcasts
1- podcasts about sex in educational way
2- podcasts about some erotic stories whether they are real, fake or just made up, just for pleasure.
I’m not looking for any type of self help podcasts or deep psychological ones, more like, if you are going through a patch of more severe anxiety, is there something light-hearted, fun or calming you listen to?
I sometimes wake up very anxious for no particular reason and music becomes overwhelming and many of my go-to podcasts also.
Edit- Thank you all for the suggestions, too many comments to reply to all, but looking into most of the podcasts mentioned!
Some of the best podcast experiences come from discovering a show that delves into a unique or less mainstream subject. Whether it’s a deep dive into historical events, niche hobbies, or under-the-radar true crime stories, I’m always on the hunt for something new and intriguing. What are some lesser-known podcasts that you’ve stumbled upon and couldn’t stop listening to? Bonus points if they’re super specific or cover topics that most people wouldn’t think to explore!
I just discovered Too Scary: Didn’t Watch and love the episode “Krampus”. also highly recommend I Hate it but I Love it episode “13 going on 30”. I wanted to see what other podcast episodes people go back to for a laugh…
i cannot stand slow breathy talking or asmr, so it needs to be normal speaking volume yet quite slow paced and calm.
any topic goes!
I’m looking for books that feel absolutely bonkers. I particularly enjoy it if it’s our main character whose mind totally unravels as the book goes on, but I’m open to anything. No spoilers please!
Edit: so many amazing/wild suggestions, I’ve added a bunch of stuff to my TBR list - thankfully I can find quite a few of them at my library, so they’ll be getting a couple of reservations from me hah!
I tried to think of which type of book I wanted to ask suggestions for, but the books that I’ve liked so far don’t really have a type and differ very much, I couldn’t really choose. And I really want to read something that stays with me, something new that I might just regard as the best book I’ve ever read. So I decided why not ask you all for a book or a couple of books that you really just think is brilliant in all aspects or/and holds a special place in your heart. (Keep the spoilers to a minimum please :))
Hey fellow readers,
Let’s be honest… we all have read books that made us go “why did I waste my time”!
What’s a book that you really didn’t enjoy and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Share the title and why you regret reading it. Let’s warn others and save them from the same disappointment.
Edit: Be kind, but honest! No author bashing, just sharing our genuine thoughts.
i know not everyone shares this view, but for me, language is probably the most important factor in making me enjoy a book. I’ll forgive a book a multitude of sins if it’s beautifully written. What books do you think have really exceptional prose? I’m open to all genres.
For reference, some of my favorite authors are:
Ray Bradburry, Donna Tartt, Ocean Vuong, Joy Harjo, Toni Morrison, (Sometimes) John Steinbeck, (Sometimes) Vladmir Nabakov
Hey fellow Redditors,
I’m looking for a new nonfiction book to obsess over. What’s a book that you just couldn’t put down? Something that made you forget about sleep, food, and social obligations?
It can be about anything - science, history, memoir, self-improvement, or something else. Just share the title and a brief reason why it was so captivating.
Share your recommendations and help me find my next great read.
Hey everyone,
Let’s be real… we all have read books that put us to sleep (not in a good way). What’s the most boring book you’ve ever tried to read?
Share the title and why it was so boring! Let’s laugh about our shared struggles with snoozy books.
Many reviews or streamers were claiming the new monkey game came closer to GoW and Fallen Order. I played the hell out of both Jedi Fallen order games and platinumed both recent GoW games. It is not similar. Especially once you get past Chapter 1.
The game is definitely not as hard as actual FromSoft titles - but it’s still orders of magnitude more challenging than your average action adventure tile. You will hit walls, get your monkey ass kicked and get frustrated, especially if you’re not a fan of this type of game.
Moment-to-moment gameplay is absolutely Souls. Bosses are challenging, and past the first chapter, so are many mobs. Bonfire mechanic, enemies reset. Semi-open world with shortcuts you can open from the other side. I-frame based combat, flask, strange world and lore.
The interface, look and feel are also very similar to Souls - from the menus and HUD down to the weirdly muted/granular colors. First time I launched it, I legit thought I accidentally started …
Sometimes I just need the stimulation, I need a video game that has the same sensory experience as listening to break core. I want epilepsy warning plastered on the first paragraph of the steam page. I need air control tower levels of stress mainlined into my nervous system.
I already play arena shooters like Warfork (go check it out btw), and Quake, which are incredibly fast games but I need more. Armored core 6 satisfies a similar niche sometimes, so does Tetris. Also looking for it to be on the cheaper side (so no doom eternal right now, but its on my wish list). Rhythm games can too but i don’t love the memorization aspect as much. Lower stimulation is fine if it requires constant (tactical/strategic) thinking 100% of the time.
Also ultra kill is amazing I love it but i want to branch out a bit.
It doesn’t matter what kind of game it is, I get destroyed by the other players. I’ve been gaming for most of my life and have tried countless types of games, and I cannot find a single game that I am remotely good at. I am complete trash at literally every game on earth. Is this just a sign that I should just quit gaming? I have no other hobbies I like so if I quit gaming, then my life would be 100% empty. I don’t enjoy playing games anyway though since I’m trash at them. Idk what to do anymore. Any advice is appreciated.
I want to find hidden gems or fun indie games. I can’t find a game to play right now mostly because the games I know and see everywhere aren’t cutting it now. Elden ring, Baldur’s gate, Diablo, Rimworld, Kenshi (not that popular but it’s a common recommendation on reddit), WoW etc. doesn’t interest me. I need something fresh. Bonus points if it’s fantasy or has character customization but not necessary.
I’m not talking about JUST gameplay wise either. I hate games where you can blitz entire groups of enemies or batter a boss with ease, just to get 1 shot in a cutscene, I want a game where your badassness carries over into the canon. Games like yakuza or Dying Light come to mine. In Yakuza, Kiryu CANONICALLY is that MF, especially in cutscenes. In dying light, Kyle Crane isn’t just a badass soldier in gameplay, he fucks entire squads up with ease in cutscenes aswell. Anyways anyone know some games like this?
Can u guys suggest me some games to play like must play games.
Edit:thank you guys for your suggestions and im ok i just wanted to play some great games before i die.
