A Shortcut I created to find the perfect music for the perfect moment, using ChatGPT as our personal music advisor.
After doing a lot of research, I saw that something similar existed for Apple Music but not for Spotify, so I created one.
Album GPT searches for an album and plays it starting from song 1. It avoids singles and compilations. Just the perfect album.

What Does This Shortcut Do?
You may remember me from my ism project. It was a silly project where I created a Shortcut to build a small assembly-like language. This time, I went for big. Now I am back with a language that is high level, but also really fast compared to ism.
Melon, is an orthogonally-persistent#:~:text=8%20References-,Orthogonal%20or%20transparent%20persistence,retrieve%20or%20save%20their%20state) (cool word) programming language that is similar to Scriptable. But no! It does not require an app! It is just a shortcut. It is also open-source. Melon is mostly written in Typescript, and I would appreciate your contributions.
Since Melon is implemented with Siri Shortcuts, you can write automations that can do cool stuff. Here is an example melon program to demonstrate that:
let my_num = number(input("Find my secret number!"));
// Melon uses Ask For Input action for you when native input() function is called.
while(my_num != 42){
my_num = number(input("Try again!"));

It’s been a busy few months here at Snailed It Industries, and we’re very excited to be able to announce the release of our newest app ā Menu Box.
As some of you may know Alex Hay was working on Menu Box when he tragically passed away, and we are truly honoured to have been entrusted by his family and the community at large to continue his legacy and be able to release it.
Menu Box is an app designed to provide beautiful custom menus for use in your advanced Shortcuts. Menu Items are fully customisable, allowing you to add an emoji, SF Symbol, existing App Icon, or your own image, as well as allowing you to add a data payload to be read in via your Shortcuts.
Menu Box helps make your Shortcuts even more powerful and is especially perfect when paired with the Action Button. You know, in case there is any news about that in the next few days. :eyes:
Hello!
I was frustrated that iOS 18 didn’t update the Health shortcuts to add the new State of Mind (mood/emotion tracking) APIs, so I built a very simple utility to do it myself.
In Emocore, you can add new State of Mind entries (both Momentary Emotions and Daily Moods), including labels (ex. Angry, Content) and associations (ex. Money, Family), and you can fetch existing State of Mind entries by date, kind, valence, or source.
In the future, I’m thinking about: - Adding and reading PHQ-9 and GAD-7 entries - Editing samples (this comes with the trade-off and having to delete and re-add the entry, which can screw up your health data) - Filtering entries by labels and associations - Adding other missing HealthKit types (ex. Time in Daylight)
The appropriate radar ID is FB13046615 if you want this functionality natively. Also, once iOS 18 releases, I might submit them as a pull request to Actions or Toolbox Pro. If you’d prefer I do that or can contact one of their ā¦
No API NO bullshit Just your phone and your iCloud.
You can create an automation, I run this every Thursday for example.

Some of the shortcuts utilized here I built some I did not but I think the overall menu is quite useful. Hereās the link to the shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/30de4af6b57647fc82dd26d93fb31551 If anyone is interested just let me know and Iāll provide links to each shortcut in the menu that are required
I was just listening to the Dollop (one of the early early episodes) and I laughed out loud so much on my 5am walk that I was afraid I was going to wake people up if I was close enough to their bedroom windows.
Iām usually more of a āsmirk of appreciationā for humor kinda gal, so it caught me off guard that I was laughing like that.
What podcasts have the same effect on you?
I clearly have a penchant for podcasts that debunk/expose grifters, cults, conspiracies, charlatans, pseudoscience, magical thinking/woo-woo/wellness types, the far right etc., as the following are all in my regular rotation:
Conspirituality, Decoding the Gurus, QAA, Behind the Bastards, If Books Could Kill, Sounds Like a Cult, Maintenance Phase, I Don’t Speak German, Offline, Where There’s Woke, You’re Wrong About.
Plus, I’ve listened to limited series such as The Dream, Things Fell Apart, A Very British Cult and It Could Happen Here, and I used to enjoy Fever Dreams and Fair Game before they abruptly ended.
I feel like I’ve exhausted the genre, but if anyone has any other recommendations, please feel free to share!
EDIT: I clearly have not exhausted all options are there are some fine recommendations below - thanks everyone!
I have so many podcasts in my “to listen” file, and I’ve been grateful for advice on ones to avoid. Some examples I can think of are Crime Junkie for plagiarism, Something Was Wrong for unprofessionalism, etc.
So, what popular podcasts would you recommend deleting without listening, and why? Let’s focus on things that are egregious or unethical, rather than matters of personal taste.
I just finished listening to āHunting Warheadā and binged it in 2 days because I loved it so much. The subject matter is deeply disturbing and heavy, but the podcast itself is incredible with outstanding storytelling and journalism.
This podcast along with āS-Town,ā has set such a high bar that Iām now struggling to find others that match their level of excellence. If anyone has any recommendations for podcasts of similar quality, Iād be thrilled to hear them. Thanks!
My sense of humor is people ranting about something dumb or just something dumb in general. I also love shocking humor kinda like The Office. Any podcast recs?
Hi, I’m looking for podcasts that contain none of the above. Something strange, fascinating, funny and captivating. Something that isn’t over 15 episodes. There are similar topics on this subreddit, but every single one contains at least a few of these. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Ps. Also no scams
Tell me the bestseller you hate. I am so fascinated by books that sell millions but are kindaā¦bad. Mine was verity. Looking for books published in the last five years or so
Either because you genuinely enjoy reliving that particular story, or because you believe the book should be read multiple times to truly grasp its essence.
Iām so sorry mods if this isnāt the correct sub for audiobooks!
I usually like to have on an audiobook while I do chores around my home. I want to make a list of some audiobooks that add to a book rather than just verbally telling the book. Not that it adds actually to the story, but just something about the production makes the story pop. What are some of the best audiobooks that youāve listened to?
I wanna know your opinions!
I haven’t read much sci-fi, but I loved The Futurological Congress by Stanislaw Lem.
More focused on the character development and quality of the writing rather than an exciting plot line. The longer the better; I like to get really stuck into it and I donāt mind novels that take their time.
Some of my favourite books: - Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver - A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving - The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese - Pachinko by Min Jin Lee - East of Eden by John Steinbeck - The Heartās Invisible Furies by John Boyne - Christodora by Tim Murphy
Appreciate any recommendations!
Hello everyone!
I am looking for a game that:
Drop your suggestions!
For me any game that played above 50 hours is indicator of a good game.
So give me your 50+ hours game!
You know when that one guard turns the wrong way or your left toenail leaves the shadows and suddenly you’re playing dynasty warriors and your only weapon is a pocket knife and an F-bomb? I don’t like that.
Examples (but good games): Aragami, Thief, Styx etc. Any game where detection means run or save scum.
What I want is Shadow of Mordor/War, Batman Arkham, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Games where stealth is the preferred and efficient option but if I get detected, that’s everyone else’s problem more than mine.
What are some games that forced you to write something down for later, either with a IRL notebook or just notes app on your phone? Was it to keep track of characters, puzzles, maybe even drawing a map?
I loved taking notes on things when i was a kid and want something to recapture that feeling.
Im not in a good moment rn and i guess i need to feel powerful in some sense??
No Games Soul-like as they make me mad for some reason (sometimes i got no patience
Looking for chill games to play.
Atm it been Dorfromantik, cities skylines, farming simulator 22/ star dew valley.
Fall guys.
And minecraft
