What cool things can you do with chatgpt using this app?
Ever wonder what the weather usually looks like for your vacation dates? Or if your wedding weekend tends to be rainy? I built a Siri Shortcut that pulls 30 years of weather history for any dates and location you pick — plus it compares recent trends from the past 3 years to see if things are getting hotter, colder, wetter, or drier.
Manage your Imgur account from Shortcuts
This shortcut has been a work in progress for a while, and I think I’m finally ready to share the first version. This started because the Imgur mobile app is not available in my region 😅
Features: - Link your Imgur account easily by following the built-in step-by-step guide. No prior knowledge of the Imgur API, API keys, etc., needed. - Sync your Imgur account uploads with Imgur Manager so you can access them from the shortcut. - Manage your Imgur content – upload images or videos. Delete images and videos. Create and delete albums. - Check and manage your Imgur account settings. - Browse the Imgur gallery - Search the Imgur gallery - Browse a selection of subreddit Imgur galleries
Whether it’s one of your own images/videos or one you’ve found via the gallery options, you can: - View image/video info - Grab the Imgur link - Download it to your device
If I can figure out how to add more Imgur features I will…. …
Screenshot above shows the sleep focus i use. I was wondering if it is possible to make the brightness automatically lower when i turn it on/when it automatically turns on. It is automatically activated from 11pm to 6am but sometimes i’ll turn it on Mid day for naps so it would have to work for that too.
If you do, what are your favourites?
I know that just our year of birth does not necessarily mean we have the same interests, but I find that a lot of the time, a much younger person will recommend a podcast that they adore, and I simply don’t connect with the hosts, often because of the wide age gap.
So, other people my age, what do you like listening to?
I’d guess I listen to about 30-40 podcasts on a weekly rotation and there seems to be a common theme - that is hosts and guests get continuously distracted from the topic at hand and prattle on endlessly about personal and irreverant topics. It’s almost a stream of consciousness style narration which I find super irritating and distracting
This is my number one bug bear with podcasts. Stfu and start becoming more professional and tailor to your audience. Youre taking me (the listener) out of the experience. I want to get Immersed in the show and your laughter is breaking up all momentum.
I come across so many podcasts using both puerile and juvenile humour that it’s so off-putting - even if the actual content is good. Why are you trying to talk like comedians? Do you think people give a shit about your personal life when it’s not explicitly the topic?
I wouldn’t say I’m a “stick in the mud”. I appreciate humour and a well crafted witty …
Jonathan Goldstein has joined Pushkin Media to revive Heavyweight.
I’ve started listening to several series on Wondery lately and they aren’t worth listening to. The old Dr. Death and other series are good but I’ve already heard them. It is time to drop my subscription?
I am driving about 7 hours tomorrow and need something interesting to listen too. True crime is probably the best bet, but open to anything interesting (though no sports) Also hoping for little to no sexual assault-type stuff as my 88-y-old mother will also be listening. Lots of twists and turns would be great. I know picking a podcast based on time is kinda messed up, but does anyone have something for me? Thank you!
The year is just starting out, so what are everyone’s top reads for the months of January to March?
Books for rewiring your brain after years of damage with social media and scrolling etc etc.
Or resources in general. Thank you!
Maybe the cover was boring, the synopsis didn’t grab you, or you only picked it up because someone insisted? And then it absolutely blew you away. What book completely changed your expectations?
For me, it was Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. I thought it’d be just another fantasy book, but the world building, the magic system, and the twists completely hooked me, thou!
I enjoy autobiography’s and memoirs can somebody suggest a good one to read? I’m open to any.
I’m looking for a book that’s under 250 pages—something that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. I usually enjoy books like No Longer Human and similar genres, but I’m open to anything that has a strong impact. What’s the one book that got you out of a slump?”
Herman Hesse is my absolute favorite, any help is appreciated.
I had kind of a dark time where I was pretty apathetic about everything (I am usually a cries at commercials type of person) and I am finally back to feeling the whole range of emotions. Help me celebrate getting my cry back with books that will make me cry. Again, I am an easy crier so this shouldn’t be too hard but some books that got me were:
Looking for games where you don’t mow down nameless enemies, each kill serves a purpose in the story or feels impactful. I’ve heard things like this from Watchdogs 2, where family members react and mourn, a good start, but still not exactly what I mean.
Hey y’all!
I had a post last week in r/gamingsuggestions and r/AskGames asking for peoples votes for top 10 games to play before you die. I got 210 responses, with a total of 1975 votes as I accepted “up to 10”. Thank you all for participating!
95 of those responses contained more than 1 game. 59 responses were unused. The others were split evenly where applicable (such as 2 votes saying “Portal 1 & 2” and “Portal 1 or 2” meant 1 for each). I did not give decimal points.
In total, 653 unique games were voted for!
Remasters/Remakes were mostly counted as the same game, unless there is a signifcant change to the gameplay (such as Resident Evil 2).
TOP 20 GAMES:
|Placement|Game Name|Amount of Votes| |:-|:-|:-| |1|The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim|49| |2|Red Dead Redemption 2|43| |3|The Last of Us|39| |4|Elden Ring|31| |5|The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|29| |6|The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt|29| |7|Cyberpunk 2077|26| |8|Minecraft|26| |9|Dark …
so, to clarify, she’s looking for games with a lot of people, chatting going on in a little text box, friendly community. like WoW used to be back in the day. she’s played and enjoyed WoW but isnt that interested in going back to it. she’s played (and enjoyed ) second life but it seems to be dying off. she doesn’t like shooters and, the simpler the mechanics the better.
she asked me to add this: “ i want a game with like, guilds and crafting and levelling up and that sort of stuff” but the social aspect is important
she’d prefer not to have to use discord or anything like that. just all contained within the game. she’s tried GW2, Once human, Wayfinder, and finds them all lacking mainly for the social aspect. some of the games she’s liked are (as mentioned) WoW, Second Life, Conan Exiles, Ark, 7 days to Die
some games shes NOT interested in a The First Descendant and Destiny
Thanks!
I just need something to destress sometimes, preferably something where I can just chill/vibe most of the time. Minimal game play is fine, no “schedule” or a very very slow pace in general. Maybe an untimed to-do list but no rush. Genre isn’t that important, platform does have to be PC though.
Edit: I was not expecting this many responses but thanks. Some suggestions are great, some I have already tried, and many seem to be pulled from the “Top 10 Games You Find in Every Thread” list lol. I’ll be combing through more of them and see what the best ones are.
Edit 2: my inbox has been completely unusable for 4 days, thanks everyone. Also I do not need anymore recommendations for Stardew Valley, the Outer Wilds, No Man’s Sky or Skyrim.
I like games that hit emotionally hard.
