I wanted to make something that started off with a beef hook, and that’s probably the hardest part in this entire combination. The idea to make something that started with the beef hook was because I made this stupid song with Wendy’s commercial sound clips from the 80’s on my Game Boy, which is the song used in this video. You can listen to it here if you enjoy unhinged, goofy madness music - https://youtu.be/K-4X06k-i20?si=TgwGIdw8kHLotCg3
I put a bid on this 2009 Worlds limited edition Night Moves 5 on eBay, not expecting to win, but here we are. Nickel plated, with 24k gold plated rims. I also didn’t expect it to come straight from Bill de Boisblanc and share its package with a signed Sunset Trajectory! Thanks Bill! Beyond stoked on this mail day haul!
So I just scooped this. I’ve never owned any anti yo stuff and I’m pretty stoked. I’ve been looking for more info, value, production year. Things like that. Anyone have any info?
Tell us about a pocast that you should love, or used to love for its subject or content, but theres something stopping you from listening to it.
I have several, some reasons are really obvious, like one host constantly talking over the top of each other.
The one im going to name though is Disgraceland. I know some people straight up dont like it, but I actually really dig the writing and creative licence used. The thing that makes it unlistenable is that the background music…just isnt. Its WAY to loud in the mix and distracting as all hell.
Most likely a me problem, but whats your me problem?
Edited: lots of good suggestions. Thank you all. I actually looking forward to the trip.
I would prefer something funny but anything interesting would work. I am going to take a long road trip with someone and it’s going to be AWKWARD. They are not fans of podcasts but I’m hoping to find something that is interesting enough that they’ll go along with it. Many podcasts I listen to have a lot of banter and chatter and filler and that’s where I’ll lose my passenger’s willingness to listen.
What are the funniest podcasts? What’s your top 10?
You read the title. Podcasts have become really corporate. The podcast inventory has become so bloated. The targeted ads are the worst. Everyone is going to rise and grind their way to fame and fortune or older more established forms of media are looking to broaden their appeal.
I’d like to know who is still doing it for the love of the game? Who still doing it as a hobby rather than a way to quit a job they hate? Who still wants to play even though they’re going to a D3 school?
We who weren’t fetuses in 2006 might remember Squadcast, Tiki Bar TV, Geek Counterpoint, Dailysonic, Radio Three Sixty, others whose names I forgot but moments I remember. Sure, Overnightscape still trucking like always.
My decrepit and failing ears are more interested in hearing people just earnestly trying with little to no care for monetization.
So who are they?
EDIT: I forgot other podcasts that have been going forever: History according to Bob, Ozone Nightmare, Uhh Yeah Dude, …
I think that’s what the segment’s called. It’s been awhile since I’ve listened. I hopped over to twitter (which i very rarely do) and checked it out and idk what’s actually going on lmao like people are just saying if Trump is dead i will venmo you $10 or wtvr.
Idk i just feel like it’s a fascinating phenomenon happening and replyall would cover something like this lol
A true legend in the Podcasting world. Back when there was History of Rome there was also In Our Time. Not many educational podcasts have over 1,000 episodes and cover everything from “the age of the Universe to ‘Zenobia’, Queen of the Palmyrene Empire”.
The book that you know you’d be disowned for by your friends, relatives, and the general reddit book community. But honestly you’d read it again, and maybe again after that.
My admission is the Twilight books. I know everyone looks down on me but I just can’t help it. I’m 30 and I’m not sorry. Yes I picked them up as a whole adult. Yes I will reread them. No I won’t defend them.
Dont deliberately suggest books like mine. I want you to admit to yours. I do want to find my next book to keep to myself, but I also wish to be entertained by your embarrassing admissions.
(Please don’t say negative things to anyone’s suggestions, other people not approving is sort of the point)
My only criteria is it has to be non-fiction, but it doesn’t matter the subject…it could be a memoir, true crime, unsolved mystery, history, etcetera. Please include a few words summarizing the premise of the book if the title and author don’t make it obvious, without spoilers. Your assistance is most appreciated! 🤗
I’ll return the favor with one I recently finished and loved:
Monopoly X: How Top Secret WWII Operations Used the Game to Help Allied POWs Escape, Conceal Spies, and Send Secret Codes by Philip E. Orbanes.
It’s about the little-known history of how Monopoly game boards were used during WWII to do exactly what the title suggests. It’s got everything: spies, double agents, traitors, courageous women leading the resistance, an Army intelligence officer who went on to invent video games, murder, and heroism.
Even if you think, “Ew, history and war history are not for me!” I promise you, you’d mistake this for a James …
It can be anything from non fiction to fiction… I just need something with a good narration.
Edit: Wow, blown away by all the responses, I’ve got a lot to work through! Thanks everyone
I love reading autobiographies of people of have wild lives/lived through some crazy stuff!
Any recs would be great thanks!
The end of the year is coming fast, and to complete my reading goal I want to read a book that will actually leave me speechless
Im talking closing the book and mentally connecting all the dots, realizing how all the hints made sense
The genre does not matter but I do want to read more thriller
Thank you !!
It’s been about a month since I last did this, and I try to do it monthly. I also consider it fun. It’s a good way to connect with other readers and to get really great recommendations and possibly find a reading buddy.
SUPER IMPORTANT: if you plan on posting and requesting recommendations, you also need to comment on someone else’s post who had similar reading taste and give them recommendations. It’s really hard for me to respond to hundreds of requests, especially for genres I don’t read often, so a little help is great.
My three I’d like recommendations for are: Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson, Born Free by Joy Adamson, The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa
I realised I have this niche of games I like but I will explain it in more detail. I love the resource management system of your safe place and the expedition when it is separate. No matter how bad the game quality is, I’ll love it if the gameplay loop goes like that. (surprisingly half of these are zombie games)
Here are some good examples
.
Darkest Dungeon: Fits to the t. This is my most played game of all time. Its even better when games push you to a corner so you have to manage whatever resources you are left with.
Dead age: A very low quality game but it lets you manage survivors to work or go to expedition. I love the minmaxing
Sheltered: A lot like deadage but better quality. The only downside is there is no endgame.
Stalker series: Despite not having a hub world, the “expedition” and “safe upgrade zone” loop is the same. I think this distinction is what matters the most.
Darkwood: REALLY good horror game I’d recommend to everyone. …
The steam reviews are just hard glazing so I have no idea what actual opinions are on the game.
Basically every single review is the same thing.
“definitely goty” - with 0.5 hours played “Greatest game of all time thank you devs” - 0.2 hours played
Or a positive review with some joke about bugs being the characters or something about breaking steam all with less than an hour played.
Just looking for some actual reviews about the game or opinions on the game that are not just full glazing without even playing. Thanks!
As the title says, trying to see if I missed some gems that would reiginte the feeling I had when I first started gaming playing some great games and getting blown away by them. What are some of the best examples of these ?
Looking for some games on Steam that are real time sinks. The kind where you sit down for “just an hour” and suddenly it’s 3 AM.
I’m into open world, survival, roguelikes, or anything grindy that actually feels rewarding. Single-player or multiplayer, doesn’t matter. Already played the big ones like Skyrim, Fallout, Minecraft, RDR2, etc.
What are your go-to “lose track of time” games?
I guess GTA and Skyrim come to mind but I want even more. Just random shit you can do that will make you wonder how they thought of all this
Not that I’ll play them, they’ll probably be too complicated for me. But I fantasize about wanting a really complicated game to pretend I’m smart when I conquer it (if I can). So what are the most complicated games. Ps. I already know about dwarf fortress, so you guys can skip suggesting that one. Thanks!
Hello everyone, I wanted to let you guys know Shortcuty, a community hub to share and download shortcuts is now available on the App Store! You can get it at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shortcuty/id6751129542
For those of you wanting to test the latest features and changes, you can get the TestFlight version here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/MQSRBQZU
For now there is a manual review process when submitting shortcuts. This will change in the future. We are human so even a manual review isn’t perfect. ALWAYS exercise caution when downloading shortcuts, and make sure to always watch what permissions they ask for. Never trust a shortcut blindly, whether it’s from Shortcuty, or another platform.
For those of you getting a “email is required to create an account” error when signing in, try this: Open iOS Settings → Apple ID (your name) → Sign in with Apple → Shortcuty → Delete account info, and then try logging in again
Here is my announcement post if you want more info on …
So, I’m trying to create this shortcut where upon sending the text to your iPhone, it will activate the following shortcut so I am here to ask about what else can I do to increase the efficiency? To Maximise the chances of finding the phone
Thanks in advance
I am really new to both shortcuts and iOS environment. Currently shortcuts is the only thing that makes me feel good about having iOS over android. Nowadays I keep finding myself scrolling myself for some long time in Instagram and Twitter. This is my attempt to dedicate some time in advance and have an extension if necessary. I am open to suggestions:) One possible improvement might be having buttons 1 min, 5 mins and custom in the first question. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/c19e9241aea149adb053e20edfeacd49
I’d also love to hear about any clever uses of the Action button on the Apple Watch.
Just made a Wordle webpage using Gemini and added it to Shortcuts.
AI is insanely powerful!
It checks whether your input is a valid word by querying dictionaryapi. Sadly, this API thinks my go-to word ‘soare’ isn’t a real word.

Sorry, I deleted my previous post by mistake 😂
Battery Report works on iOS 18. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/8578e7a36ed4479f99b024fb0818b832
Doesn’t work yet on iOS 26 DB8. The analytics files are 30 MB and the shortcut application does not support it. (You will have to wait for the RC version)
Thanks to everyone who shared their iOS 26 analytics files.
