Hello everyone,
I was recently was able to participate in Pay it Forward from Motion yoyos. I’ve been really excited to try something from Motion, so I was stoked to get to throw a Perpetual. It’s a beautiful throw with excellent quality. However, what really stood out to me was that it feels/plays like a mono with spin time of a bimetal. Which for me is best case scenario.
I’ve had it for the last couple weeks and during that time I’ve really been leveling up. I’ve learned how to gyroscopic flip, green triangle and slack trapeze. I wanted to share my progress and show off the Perpetual, so here’s me having fun to one of my favorite songs. Happy throwing y’all!
I was delighted to find “history for sleep” because of its interesting subject and lack of ads dialed up to 11.
I just spooked myself and unfollowed when I realized this is not something by a kindly old historian reading from a textbook. THIS IS AI.
Maybe I’m dumb but my only clue, besides lack of host info and writing credits… Was the length. Each episode… 5+ hours. 🤌🤌 So good for sleep but it’s just too creepy for me. It feels like this is how the brainwashing will happen.
I’m looking for a long form podcast where the host or team gets very invested and learns every little detail about the topic. Not to the point of harassing people involved ofc, just someone who got stuck on a topic and explores it as deeply as they possibly can.
Some examples are:
Missing on 9⁄11
True Crime Bullshit
Weird Little Guys
Transmissions From Jonestown
Svetlana! Svetlana!
Tapes From The Dark Side
Chameleon: Con Queen
Winds Of Change
Hysterical
I would be really interested in more non murder podcasts, but other kinds of true crime like cults, government conspiracies, scams etc are very interesting.
Let me know what deep dives you’ve been listening to lately!
I got feed recommended a YT clip for Diary of CEO. I usually find these clips interesting and informative cause he usually has famous experts on. He even has guests who talks about men’s issues like Scott Gallaway, Dr. Alok Kanojia, and Richard Reeves, who I think are all thoughtful and productive.
But the clip I got was from another men’s issues influencer, Dr. Orion Taraban. The guy sounds like a straight up redpill. He seems to believe that men should incorporate manipulative strategies into dating and that healthy relationships only happen when the woman submits to the man.
Why the hell did Steve even have him?
Any podcasts that you have enjoyed so much that you have listened to multiple times?
For me, Scamanda, Believable the coco berthmann story and Something was wrong (earlier seasons).
I listen to a lot of different podcasts depending on my mood, and when I find one I tend to start with the backlog.
I can’t think of another medium that has documented moments in recent history through audio on such a raw, unrestrained by broadcast restrictions, honest level as it happens quite like podcasts.
A couple of examples are I’ve been listening to episodes of The Skeptics Guide To The Universe made before and during the pandemic and it’s so interesting to hear how it was perceived when it was just emerging.
Another one is Knowledge Fight during Trump’s first term in office. You hear Alex Jones and his cohorts going from someone completely anti-government to today cheering on everything he was against 5+ years ago.
I realise things have been documented for decades through TV & radio, but nothing has been so easily accessible years after the fact as podcasts make such things.
I’d be interested to hear of any other examples anyone has. …
I’m not sure what’s going on but all of the new ones that I try to listen to just aren’t cutting it
I posted here a while back admitting that I have never finished a book, and to my surprise everyone was extremely supportive and loving. People suggested many different books, and gave me plenty of advice that were extremely helpful.
My first week, I struggled to create a momentum, I would read a sentence or two and find myself immediately going to my phone or another tab. I was okay with it because at least I am trying. I kept downloading different books related to my career and trying to bounce around.
Then one day, as I was browsing this community, I came across a post asking “what is a book that you couldn’t keep down”. One of the comments was “Igmmd by Jennette Mccurdy”. I heard about this book because I was a huge Icarly fan, and so I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise I kept reading and reading and eventually I realized that I am halfway through. After 5 days of reading with a proper 3 hour binge on the last day, I finished it. I realized …
Historical fiction preferred
I want a book that is among the best you’ve ever read, just 10⁄10 plot, characters, themes, symbols, and message, but also something that REALLY fucked you up. For the movie nerds out there, I’m talking something similar to Requiem for A Dream, Happiness, or Irreversible. I have no triggers, so y’all have the freedom to recommend me whatever depraved stuff you want, just make sure it has a very good reason for being as depraved as it is. Thank you so much in advance!
Please suggest me that one book that truly and fundamentally transformed you, that led to a drastic and lasting change in your outlook/manners/personality. A book that turned your worldview upside down, sparked an epiphany, made you approach life differently.
I’m open to any genre, fiction, non-fiction, self-help… Anything that had an impact on your self-worth, calmness, optimism, motivation, or the way you interact with the world around you.
Thanks!
Edit: Could you maybe add in just a few words HOW it changed you, noticeably?
Edit: I’m honestly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of replies. Please know I read every single one, have already saved respective available audiobooks on spotify and will see about getting hands on the others in print format. I think you’ve given me resources for years to come. Thank you 💕
Oh and to those few who did or intend to do: please stop suggesting the bible. Read it. Not my cuppa. Not open to anything religious (though …
The bell jar was a pioneer in this genre. I love the “neurotic” young woman trope but this genre is becoming over saturated with try-hard, discombobulated writing by authors trying to out-obscure one another. I want a really good book that includes one of the following: unhinged narration, mental illness, feminine rage, quirky girl narration with great vibes, messy coming of age, etc. A book that is genuinely good, not just weird with an aesthetically pleasing cover.
Hi all!
I’m looking to put together a reading challenge for myself. I’d like to read at least one book—but maybe several—representing each of the 50 US states (territories welcome too)! I’m guessing it’ll end up being mostly fiction, but I’m open to any genre and any time period. The books should have topic, atmosphere, character, etc that represents the character of that state, broadly interpreted.
An immediate and obvious example that pops into mind is Cannery Row by Steinbeck (a lot of Steinbeck!) for CA. I’d think Moby Dick would fit for MA, because although only a small part takes place in the state, it’s a very unique part of the state and the overall sensibility matches.
I’m happy with a long list! So if a book just fits a specific aspect of what it means to be “that state”, that’s fine!
Ideally this will make great road trip reading for me soon :)
Edit: You’re all awesome! Keep it coming! I love that I’m getting some well-known picks that I haven’t read yet and did didn’t …
Obviously the like of graphics are subjective as some of these games are beautiful in their own way but some of the games I’m going to list are genuinely ugly. Im not sure what this style of game is called but nice to play games that trade its graphics for depth.
Some examples: Dwarf Fortress, Songs of Syx, Conquest of Elysium, Dominions, Rimworld, Path of Acram, Deity Empires, Noita, Project Zomboid
Any suggestions to check out?
Looking for an RPG style game where you become truly evil and powerful. Not really a game where you can do bad things but there is no consequence. I want to cause havoc and the game/NPCs notice.
Recently running into a gaming rut. I’ve been itching to play something but don’t necessarily have the time to be able to sink hours and hours at a time into a game.
Are there any easy chill games that you can jump in and out of and just sort of chill and game. I’d like a little bit of direction and goals to build towards but nothing too crazy to where i have to play 200 hours just to get to a confortable place in the game because i just don’t know that i have that kind of time these days.
I quite often jump back into my personal favorite open world games like the Assassin’s creed games, watch dogs and red dead 2(fishing) just to chill but i’m hoping to find something a little newer.
I’m going to give no man’s sky a try too but i’ve tried it in the past and had trouble getting hooked or having a real direction. It felt like a whirlwind of confusion and things i won’t be able to achieve for another 50-100 hours.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Essentially, as a potato user, I find myself disappointed that I find games that look like it would be fine for me to play, is actually unplayable to me for most likely the reason that the developer never tried to optimize it better.
But sometimes I find games that surprisingly still plays well even tho when I look at the game, I figured it wouldn’t. Usually tho its mostly JRPGs.
I don’t think I need to mention my pc specs really, just assume I have something that’s 10+ years old. Honestly, just want people to recommend things that made them think “This dev actually took the time to make sure this game plays well.” And I’ll just see which one works for me.
EDIT: Wow. Didn’t expect this amount of replies. Shows that gamers cares about performance as much as gameplay! Thanks everyone!
I’m looking for a game with a twist. Something in which you’re not the main character but just a side character in your own world. A game where the world doesn’t revolve around you, and even if you get stronger, people would still treat you as an average Joe.
Does such a game exist? If so, please recommend. Thanks!
I’m not talking about childhood nostalgia, just “good games,” or the ones you had the most fun with. I mean the games that really flipped something in your head, changed your taste, made you see gaming differently, or had a big impact basically.
For me:
I hated turn-based stuff until Baldur’s Gate 3.
Even though I’ve watched a lot of anime, I couldn’t stand anime-style games. Then Genshin Impact hooked me and Wuthering Waves pushed it further.
I never cared for linear, story-driven games, but Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 completely changed that. (Still don’t like Metaphor: ReFantazio and FF games though 😅).
What about you guys? What games changed how you see gaming?
I made this shortcut for iOS 26 and the Shelf Player App that runs when I enable my Reading focus, and automatically asks me which book of my currently listening I want to play and in ~30s automatically sets an AI generated image of the book using Image Playgrounds in Chat GPT mode with a custom query I made. I’ve been trying it out with some of the books I’ve been reading/meaning to read, and it’s really amazing to see the results!!

I downloaded this shortcut from beard.fm on YouTube. Would be awesome if it worked but it stops running when it should start raising the volume. Not sure why. I’m running iOS 18, but I don’t see anything in the build that would be iOS 26 only? Any ideas?
If you want to show shortcut icons in web pages, you may be interested in my “Shortcut Icons” CSS sprite library

I’ve just updated it with iOS 26 100+ new icons!

Hello everyone, earlier today I posted this for a few minutes but had to remove it due to a bug in the app. But it’s been fixed.
Today I am releasing Shortcut Analyzer, this app reverse engineers shortcut files and maps the data flow throughout it in order to allow you to easily check for any suspicious behaviors. It can also automatically detect any vCards, and base64 encoded images and display those as well. I have not verified everything it shows for absolute accuracy, so further testing is needed.
It is compatible with as low as iOS 15.6, you can download it from TestFlight here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/jaV2AQQx
Please let me know of any bugs you find
Had fun making this and wanted to share.
It gets the top wallpaper of the week from r/wallpaper, and sets it to be the wallpaper for your phones Wallpaper 2. (I’m using wallpaper 2 because I don’t want my wallpaper 1 to change)

I have an automation that runs this once a week. Always a nice surprise when I pick up my phone and I see a new really nice picture.
