I’ve been working on this off and on for almost 5 months! I ran around the house and made everyone in my family high 5 me 😂
I’m not a small business owner or involved in the hiring process where I work. I actually like cooking a lot, so I have no need for a meal prep or delivery service. I’m not a parent. I’m not looking for a new car anytime soon. The idea of buying clothes or furniture online without trying it in person seems awful to me. What else is left to advertise to me at this point?
So i found this podcast 2 months ago and this is genuinely the best scripted podcast to exist, or at least that i listened to. For those who aren’t familiar each season explores one war that the US took place in(s1 afghanistan, s2 cuba etc). It is researched so well, uses a lot of clips from the time and dismisses the usual US narratives that are used to take the blame away from them. It is so refreshing to see someone create a show like this and i hope they keep going because the crimes that that country has committed and stil does still aren’t talked about enough. I am genuinely impressed and in awe of what these guys made. What are your thoughts?
I bought the forever license for Pocket Casts years ago. And today I wake up to see that’s not forever, that now they want $40 a year to give features I already paid for. And now have ads.
I’m livid at the enshitification.
Please help me find a better app that isn’t greedy.
I know this has been asked a few times lol but I feel like I’ve gone through most of the classics and need some suggestions! I enjoy things that cover one case over at least a few episodes.
What I’ve loved: hunting warhead (stuff w CSAM is not something i usually listen to due to triggers but if done well like this one I would be interested), scamanda, bone valley, bear brook, s-town, your own backyard,
Ones I’ve so far struggled to get into: sweet Bobby, was not a huge fan of the host and the story felt a little all over the place, outlaw ocean, sea of lies (idk why), cold season 1.
I need a new podcast to listen to while I do my home duties. Im usually on Psychopedia but I’m all caught up and I can’t do anything without someone talking in my ear. It doesn’t have to be horror, I also listen to the Brilliant Idiots but I’m also all caught up. So yeah, what’s your favorite?
Does anyone have any podcast recommendations that are similar to What Went Wrong? It doesn’t even have to be about movies, it could be any topic or genre.
I specifically love the two hosts’ friendly chemistry, how well researched it is, how minimally they talk about their personal lives (I really don’t mind hearing bits and pieces, but when pod hosts spend 1/3rd of the episode going on and on, I tend to check out), and how passionate they are about the subject material.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
What’s the book you really didn’t like. The one everyone else lives or raves about but you just couldn’t take to? Tell me. I love how we are all different.
but at the same time you can’t put it down?
preferably fiction, any genre is ok
So, I’m late to the detective genre, and came at it all wrong. I’ve read every Stephen King book (minus Shining and Dr. Sleep) and eventually hit Mr. Mercedes. I loved that trilogy so much I wondered if I’d like other detective novels. Plowed through Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple and all of Holmes (even started the The Beekeeper’s Apprentice/Mary Russell series). I cannot STAND the traditional noir detective cliche of a lonely, borderline alcoholic detective or private eye that shacks up with dames and would rather shoot or punch his way out of a case. I got several books into the Cormoran Strike series before 1) it turned into a maudlin unrequited romance series that occasionally “solved” cases, and 2) I couldn’t abide Joanne Kathleen as a person any more.
I need non-traditional detectives. Holly Gibney is one of the greatest characters I’ve read in a long time and love her (despite her eponymous book not containing much actual …
Like the title says, every night before bed i read to my wife for about 20 to 45 minutes to help her sleep. We like books that are heavier on dialogue and somewhat mysterious, bordering on fantastical if it doesn’t get too deep into the minutia (for instance, she couldn’t stand the Ice and Fire books until she watched the show and was able to put names to faces and concepts.)
We just started the final novel of the Dresden series (i don’t know if its the final ever, kinda feeling like it, but im afraid to google if it is and accidentally see a spoiler for it)
To date we have read:
Song of Ice and FIre
Harry Potter series
Every Spencer novel written by Robert B. Parker.
Hitchhikers series (and i think the Dirk Gently books)
We have tried, but she didn’t like:
Wheel of Time
Dune (too many crazy names for her)
Phillip K. Dick
Stephen King (nothing too dark before sleep)
EDIT: Thanks for all the suggestions! we’re going to work our way down the list …
Hey guys! I’m looking for some weird books, can be the plot, the format, anything that makes it weird. Any recommendations?
I’m looking for something to read and I’ve been searching for a good thriller. There are so many out there with mixed reviews and I don’t know who to trust. I want something that will keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time, it’s relatively fast paced so I don’t get bored and has great twists. I don’t like horror or paranormal things but I like if it scares me a little and has a realistic explanation behind the scary scenes.
Some thrillers I already read: - The housemaid by Freida McFadden (loved it) - Rock paper scissors by Alice Feeney (loved it) - The silent patient by Alex Michaelides (I was quite bored honestly) - The only one left by Riley Sager (liked it) - Every last fear by Alex Finlay (a bit boring) - That’s not my name by Megan Lally (meh) - Kill for me, kill for you by Steve Cavanagh (loved it) - Listen for the lie by Ami Tintera (loved it) - The girl in 6E by A.R. Torre (hated it)
bonus points if it’s has a good …
hey ya’ll
so i LOVE the idea of games where you play/have the option to play as a villain (IE games like overlord or evil genius), but a lot of smaller indie games i’ve found with that concept either dance around the villainy, or make you actually the hero who was at one point the villain, or does some bad things
i want a game where i REALLY play as a villain, like an irredeemable character, i want to raise villages and rend its citizens, i want to be a crime boss killing the competition, i want to be an evil wizard bent on world domination
anyone got any cool games that fit that niche? any genre is fine aside from visual novels
I’m looking for a game that doesn’t necessarily go on forever, but a game I can just keep replaying over and over again, I really like retro games if that helps any.
Just to be up front - I’ve not lived in cities much, mostly lived in towns, villages, or outright rural. Biggest place I’ve lived is Galway City, which even then doesn’t feel particularly dense. But I’ve had days in NYC and Boston, and they’re worlds apart from those experiences. And, yeah, we’ve all heard the complaints about how Elder Scrolls cities feel more like towns and villages.
GTA’s been pretty good, but the game worlds are split up (3 separate cities in SA, split into 2+ landmasses in 3, 4 and VC) and getting from the end of one landmass to another (eg North to South in VC) flies by. I’ve started playing the original Assassin’s Creed and they’ve got some great crowds, but I imagine that when I get to the city-driven ones my experience of playing the game is mostly just going to be ‘hold the parkour button and occasionally adjust the left stick while looking at the minimap instead of navigating the game world …
Looking for something specific here. Not games where you make a choice and get a different cutscene. I mean games where characters actually track how you play across the whole experience and adapt their behavior accordingly.
Like if you consistently solve problems through stealth, NPCs start suggesting stealthy approaches. Or if you always exhaust dialogue options, characters become more talkative with you over time. Basically games where your aggregate behavior matters more than individual decision points.
I know about the nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor and how enemies remember previous encounters. Also played through most Bioware games where companions have approval ratings. But I’m looking for something deeper where the game world actually learns your patterns and preferences then reflects them back at you.
Preferably something that maintains this memory across sessions or even multiple playthroughs. Where the game remembers not just what you did but how you tend to …
Recently I played ape out (great game by the way) and one of my favorite level type is the dark sections. The enemies have less vision making it really easy to sneak up in them. Appearing out of the dark as a hulking ape I’m wondering if there’s any games that fit that type of vibe where you’re hunting people down as some powerful horror entity with some of those stealth/action elements. Preferably the player character is strong enough that it doesn’t feel like they’re entirely relying on stealth but more like they can use it (Sorry if this post is confusing)
HEY, READ THIS PART!
I’m looking for an experience where there’s stealth and survival and you’re eking out day-to-day scavenging for food and supplies and you might find some hidden nook somewhere to sleep. You are not powerful, just one person trying to stay alive, and many people would kill you for whatever you have. That could be NPCs or multiplayer, but it’s not a shootfest. Combat is rare, but desperate.
UPDATE: got a few good suggestions so far, and it’s looking like the ones that are closest (some games omitted due to jank) are Surroundead, Project Zomboid, The Long Dark, and an odd indie game I found on YouTube called Plains of Pain. Thanks for all the suggestions, folks!

This Shortcut takes any quick input and turns it into a clear reminder with emojis, simple micro-steps, and a supportive note. It’s set up neurodivergent (adhd, autism) friendly but you can easily tweak the prompt for non-ND use or add/remove traits to fit your needs.
Hi, so I could very well be overthinking this. But basically I just started with a new home screen and it’s got six different widgets for reminders list each titled a day of the week so I’m planning my to do based on the day that I wanna do them for that specific week is there a way that like I could schedule them and if a task is scheduled on a Monday it goes to the Monday list and if this task is scheduled on a Tuesday, it goes to a Tuesday list, etc.. I can’t quite figure out if I’m over complicating it. I don’t want to have to edit list by the actual date each time
Guys why did I just notice in my settings the shortcut app is now categorized in a diff language, it’s never done this and I check my settings often
I have created a customizable shortcut launcher for your action button or any other preferred method of activation. You can easily add and remove shortcuts directly from the shortcut itself, no manual code editing is needed
You can download it directly from here: https://browse.shortcuty.app/shortcut/e97791c1-ddb4-48e0-854c-fe6019371349 Or here: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/3c94c7abb5c8487c81c2cc3aa1cd530f

Hey guys!
(Apologies if I’m in the wrong section, don’t usually post on Reddit!)
I’m looking for some shortcut recommendations to make life easier. I just picked up my iPhone 17 pro and want to see what shortcuts you guys would recommend and link preferably. Something you guys use daily and has been beneficial that you’d recommend to others
Silent Screenshot Shortcut This custom shortcut leverages the iPhone’s back tapping accessibility feature to make taking screenshots seamless and discreet. When triggered by double-tapping the back of the device, this shortcut automatically puts the phone into silent mode, captures the screenshot, then restores the sound settings back to normal. Perfect for moments when you want to capture your screen quietly without the usual shutter sound
