More starting with beef hook stuff. There’s nothing very complicated or fancy about this, but visually it looks neat, I think. Also, yes, I used an Arby’s song I made that you can listen to here: https://youtu.be/0rx4WcKl_AE?si=rL4M5DTF76DSZySX
This is the AL7 Evolution. Redesign of the original Evolution, @dandietzyoyo signature throw.
The updates to the design came about after Dan got his hands on the Banshee T52. He loved the feeling of a wider and softer catch zone. He liked how it played on the string - with a little more float in the play.
That gave me a clear goal when adjusting to the 7068 body. I was able to widen and soften the edges for the catch. The 7068 gave me the ability to put more weight exactly where I wanted to try and match the T52 string feel. Spoiler alert it’s not directly onto the rims.
The end results are the perfect evolution of the Evolution. Dan loves this yo-yo. I love this yoyo. It comes with the G2 Jake guarantee. Love it or your money back.
The first run is headed out for the Patreon shipment members. I’ll get some of these in the store as soon as the second batch comes in.
56.5mm x 47.5mm 65.25g G20 pads, G2 Ripper bearing.
If you’re still reading this, I’d love …
I love buckets.
Secret Slim (Slim Dunk with a Secret) drops on my website at 6PM est tonight ❤️
I might have a big of an odd backstory for this.
One of my favorite childhood TV shows is Recess, and I rewatch this show all the time as an adult. It’s one of my comfort shows, which is important to me as an autistic individual. In this show there’s an episode where one of the main characters gets obsessed with yo-yo, learning many tricks, and even goes to a yo-yo championship. Whenever I watched that episode I always wanted to do that too (well, maybe not the championship part). I just didn’t know where to get one (except the cheap ones at toy stores that are just disappointing), I also had no idea there’s entire communities of yo-yo enthusiasts online. Not until last week, when I randomly stumbled upon a store selling “professional” yo-yos. I immediately had to order one, as well as a fancy little holder. Not the most expensive yo-yo, but hopefully decent enough. Now I’m super excited to live out my Recess dream of learning yo-yo tricks …
UPDATE 2: the host is now deleted any comment pointing out her transphobia as is AudioChuck. You can see my update here, and you can also see the transcript in which she notes that the alleged killer’s legal name is Catherine Quick before ignoring this and referring to her with her deadname and male pronouns.
UPDATE: The host responded saying that the editorial decisions were “carefully assessed” before recording, so there’s is absolutely no room for people to claim it was an oversight. She also offered no apology. So don’t try to tell me this was some mistake or error. She actively chose to do this. She’s objectively transphobic and I am so disgusted.
I’ve never felt the need to leave a review for a podcast before. Even things I’ve considered offensive or in poor taste I’ve historically just moved past/unsubscribed, but the latest episode of Park Predators on the murder of Russell Vinton, titled “The Confrontation,” released October 7, 2025 was so disgusting and offensive I felt …
Let me know what your all time favorite episodes of This American Life are!
So far I’ve listened to Switched at Birth, 3 miles, Dr Hyde (I forget the full name), Squirrel cop and Break up.
Hi everyone, I hope this allowed. My dad’s been listening to Maron’s podcast for as long as I’ve been alive (or just about). He’s been really bummed this week with the farewell episode coming up. He’s said he’s not ready to find a replacement yet, which I totally understand. I want him to have some options when he’s ready, if anyone has any recommendations that’d be great. He loves that style of podcast, and he loves that he was there every week. So if anyone can, please help this daughter out😭
Just wanted to spread the wonderful word that In The Dark posted a season 2 update today interviewing Curtis Flowers, 5 years after his release from death row. They announced they are working on a new series as well. Anyone who has never listened, please, I beg you. This is the gold standard of unbiased, ethical, true crime journalism. Season 3 won a Pulitzer Prize! Enjoy!!
Hey everyone! I’ll be doing a long road trip across Europe soon and I’m looking for some great podcasts to keep me company while driving.
Last year I did a similar trip and listened to Bear Brook, which I absolutely loved.
Any recommendations for something similar? True crime works best for me while driving, but I’m open to anything that’s engaging or story-driven. Thanks in advance!
Update: thank you so much for all the suggestions! I’ll let you know what I chose after the trip.
Can anyone please recommend a podcast for those involved, or just interested, in the production of beef animals and dairy herds? Personally, I am not involved - just interested.
Hey everyone, I’m trying to build a “Top 100 books to read before you die” list — but I want it to be based on real, personal recommendations. I’m very open-minded and genuinely curious, which is why I’d love to create the list this way. What’s the one book you think everyone should read, and why?
I just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy and I loved it. But it seemed like the communes in the story used women like slaves, though not explicitly stated. There were a few women in the story who weren’t that, though. Some were kept to be eaten later and there was one who was presumably a cannibal herself? And there was also one woman who was I guess part of the leadership of one of the communes.
I just think that, for a long time, the sex slave trope has been the primary characterization of women in post-apocalyptic settings and I wanted something different. I do adnit to not having read a lot of post-apocalyptic novels, which is why I’m here.
Ideally, I’d love for women to be important characters or even some of the protagonists, but, if not, I’ll just settle for women not treated like sex slaves in the world building.
One book I can think of that has this is The Last Exodus by Paul Tassi. Asha is one of the main protagonists, but even then, she met the …
I remember those who read/didn’t read around me still knew of Harry Potter. Its impact was cultural. Any idea what book series is at that scale lately? Impact wise. Basically what are 2010+ burn teenagers are even reading as much and does this generation have its own poster series like Harry Potter?
There’s a lot of celebrities (mostly actors, directors, and comedians) that I’d be interested in reading their autobiographies. However, I’ve blown out my attention span over the years and it takes me awhile to get through a book especially if it’s not great. Any celebrities that have a really stand out autobiography that is worth a read?
I haven’t been able to finish a book in months. I need something with a fast pace and a great hook that will grab me from the first chapter. Any genre except horror.
I’m a huge fan of science fiction. It’s my favorite genre of all time. You guys have consistently dropped some of the best recommendations I’ve ever received in my life, so I’m more that ecstatic to see what y’all got to recommend me! I would define good writing as concise. I love novels that don’t have a single letter out of place. Books like East of Eden by John Steinbeck or Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. I also love books that have deep, philosophical themes that you can meditate on for months, even years after you finished reading them. So for example I really love rhe symbolism and themes of books like The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishoguro, Beloved by Toni Morrison, and Gravity’s Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon. I also have a slight preference for sci-fi written by actual scientists so stuff like Contact by Carl Sagan (my favorite sci-fi novel of all time) or Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge. Thank you so much for the recommendations in …
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a video game where you can play as just a fairly normal person and live out a normal life. There are a million farm and store simulators out there, but that is not really what I am looking for. The game can have those things, but I don’t want it to be the sole purpose of it. Anything come to mind? Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I think I am going to try Sims 2, it seems to be well-loved and I don’t mind playing an older title. Feel free to keep recommending titles, of course!
Y’all know how a lot of RPGs usually cap your player level off at either 99 or 100? Well, I’m looking for some RPGs that can not only go WELL beyond that limit, but also have game content that incentivizes the player to grind to such high levels in the first place. I’m currently playing Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, and I believe the level cap is like lvl 999, which is absolutely batshit insane!
I saw the reveal trailer for the Drifter class in Risk of Rain 2, and while I don’t really play that game, I loved the unconventional character design of that class. That made me start thinking about how a lot of popular RPGs rarely stray from typical class archetypes (Mage, Assassin, etc). Grim Dawn is the only RPG that comes to mind that lets you class into something unconventional, namely the Demolitionist and Trickster, which I loved. Any other games that gives you more unconventional class options?
I just finished Soma and I absolutely loved it. There’s something I really like about having a companion talk to you throughout the game. I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for games like Soma, Firewatch, or even like Before your Eyes. Some more games I like are Outer Wilds, Expedition 33, Half-Life Alyx and Cyberpunk 2077. Also what do you call these types of games? Narrative?
I’m thinking of games like:
I love when a wave of colour washes over a cursed world.
Many thanks!
EDIT: So many fantastic suggestions. I’ve looked into a few but I’m going to return to this post again and again. Thank you all and I hope you have a great weekend :D
Many games that are renowned are good and all but unfortunately when it is such that there is no replayability it really kills the fun of the game and the only thing you look forward to after completing the game is another expansion which is going to means you have to forget the game for a long time before playing it again.
After both of us being frustrated about what we have for dinner every single night, I created a shortcut for when my partner texts me “What do you want for dinner”, the automation will run and reply with a text message that contains one main course and one side dish that everyone in my family likes to eat.
now look at me
Went from a non-action but an iPhone to the 17 Pro recently and I kind of went crazy with the action button…
I have my action button do different things based on my phone’s orientation and context (e.g. If I’m in a particular app or focus mode).
—-
Some of the actions:
•landscape along its left edge (like laying on my side), the action button toggles orientation lock
•Landscape along right edge -> opens blackmagic camera
•Portrait -> Toggles flashlight on/off (when in sleep focus, it does the same but the flashlight toggles in a very low brightness setting)
•Face down -> Toggles silent mode/do not disturb on/off (vibrates once to tell me silent mode on, twice for silent mode off)
•Face up -> Prompts a menu for common toggles like toggling always on display, quickly search something on the web, etc.
——Besides the orientation ones, if my phone is in a camera app, holding it will automatically make volume 50% and max 100% brightness. —
-if my phone is in work focus, …
Lately I’ve been playing around with Apple Shortcuts + AI, and it’s gotten way better than I expected.
Now it feels like I’ve got a tiny personal assistant (or honestly, an n8n workflow) right in my pocket. It reflects on my day based on the Reminders I’ve completed and the Notes I’ve written it actually understands my goals and what I’ve been focusing on.
When you combine it with automation triggers, it’s kinda mind-blowing how much it can do. I keep catching myself thinking, oh right, I could automate that too.
It’s wild how something that started as “let’s test a Shortcut” now feels like a personal knowledge system that actually grows with me.
Updated post: https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/s/N0wEkbldgY
Hey everyone,
I’ve been an Apple user for years, but somehow I completely ignored the Shortcuts app until recently. I’ve just started exploring it and I think it’s absolutely fantastic, but honestly, I’m finding it not very user-friendly to get into.
Do you have any good beginner tutorials or YouTube videos that helped you understand how to build useful automations?
My home is fully smart heating, lights, devices, sockets, etc. so I can see a lot of potential here if I set things up properly.
Here’s what I’ve done so far 👇

Hi 👋
This Shortcut can change the color and glyphs of existing shortcuts or create a new, empty shortcut with these parameters.
How it works:
Note: This shortcut is a prototype and will be expanded and improved in the future. For example, not all glyphs have been implemented yet. Stay tuned for updates.
Have fun :)
