I’m not sure why I felt the urge to get a yo-yo out of nowhere. I used to play the devil’s stick and diabolo a lot when I was a child, I also had a cheap crappy yo-yo. Maybe I’m getting nostalgic haha.
I did some research and ordered a MagicYoyo K2. They have so many lovely colours, it was hard to decide but I went for the glow in the dark blue. I love the feel and I agree with all the people saying it’s a great product for the price.
I’m watching Yotricks YouTube videos, if you guys have any extra resources to learn more please share.
Double Dice can be insanely frustrating to learn but the results are satisfying if you stick with it!

What’s the best podcast episode that you listened to in 2025?
Edit: please, provide some information on the episode and why you choose it.
Hi all!
I’ve got to deep clean my house over the next few days and I’d love something to listen to to make that process feel easier.
I’m after some limited series. I don’t want a weekly podcast - I’m already subscribed to enough!
Nothing with graphic murder or related to kids dying/going missing.
I want it to be the podcast equivalent of a page turner!
Be warned: I listen to a lot of podcasts! I seem to have already listened to the ones I get recommended so I’m hoping this sub has some great suggestions…
TIA!
Edit: As requested, here are some I’ve loved: Ghost Story, In the Dark S2&4, Dangerous Memories, Against the Odds, Carrie Jade Does Not Exist, Deep Water, Blood Relatives, Over My Dead Body, Scamanda, The Retrievals, Shandee’s Story, Teacher’s Pet, Stalked, Suspect S1, Kaitlyn’s Baby, The Commune, The Coming Storm, The High Roller Heist, The Trial, Unicorn Girl, Who the Hell is Hamish, Will be Wild, any of the Tortoise Investigates, Bear Brook
I have officially put my money where my mouth is and trashed spotify!! I switched all my music to Tidal which is GREAT!! The platform doesn’t support ICE or the cheeto in office and they actually care about their creators and small indy artists!! Problem is, they don’t have podcasts! And I am a slut for a good podcast! 😂 So I need recommendations for good ethical podcast players!! Please please please!!! I’m desperate!!!
As others have commented elsewhere, the endless reading of emails and text messages by untrained voice actors has caused me to stop listening to this podcast. It just goes on and on and on I want to know what has actually happened, but I can’t bear to listen to another minute. Does anyone have an update or a synopsis to share that managed to sit through it?
What is Starlee doing now? I loved her stuff on This American Life and then Mystery Show (for Gimlet.)
Any ideas if she has done any more radio/podcast work? I can’t find anything. So sad if she is no longer writing…
I’m looking for a podcast that could help me with turning my life around (yes, very cliché). However, I’m not expecting a “messiah podcast” that will change my entire life after one episode. I’m also aware that a podcast is not a proper substitution for professional help (I am already working on that part).
I would be glad to find a series that might at least partially address my situation:
- I’m nearly 30 and I am basically very much dysfunctional. I feel like a loser and like it is too late to change anything.
- I live off social welfare and on my own.
- While I am enrolled in a Master’s programme, I rarely show up there and cannot seem to complete any of my tasks. I’m way behind (although I used to be a grade-A-student in my Bachelor’s programme).
- My sleeping-pattern and everyday routine are a complete mess. I usually stay awake until 7AM, sleep until 2/3PM and then get nothing done all day.
- I have a history of …
I know this has been asked before but I’m hoping for some recommendations on interesting non-fiction books. I’m not specifically interested in any one topic, just something that is really fascinating and perhaps makes you learn something or see the world in a different way.
I’m currently reading Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green and am loving it. I also really enjoyed Why Fish Don’t Exist by Lulu Miller and Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick.
Others I’ve read recently: Braiding Sweetgrass - liked this one but felt like I was already intimately familiar with the subject matter
Into Thin Air - this was not for me. The story was interesting but the feminist in me had a hard time identifying with the author’s perspective
ETA Thank you all sooo much for all of the recommendations. Super grateful for each of you and this community <3
The world is fucked but nihilistic apathy isn’t super useful to me rn. So we’ll try radical active hope maybe? I want to read more nonfiction that has some academic weight to it, but inspires action.
I loved Braiding Sweetgrass. It made me reconsider assumptions about the world I live in. It was based in science and history and spiritual tradition. It had a collectivist bent to it. I loved all of that.
It doesn’t have to be about environmentalism.
I’m down for history and social science as well. Just has basis in some scholarship of some sort, instead of a self-help book full of some random guy’s opinions.
My 16 year old son got caught using AI to write an essay in English class. He’s more than capable, just lazy. I want to have him read a novel that includes the themes of dishonesty, consequences and redemption. He’ll have to write an essay about the book. Any good suggestions?
Not intended as a punishment. It’s intended for him to learn a lesson while completing the assignment. Thanks!
One of my oldest and dearest friends has decided not to move forward with treatment for glioblastoma. She LOVES reading, but it’s getting more and more difficult for her eyes to focus on written text. I’d love to hear all your best light hearted reads that I can read to her when I visit.
Edited to add: Someone got real salty and called me selfish because I didnt update my post to say that my friend asked me to pick for her. She didn’t want to pick for herself. Just asked for something she didn’t have to think about too hard.
Obviously I’m not going to be able to read all of these to her, so I hope someone else out there is able to find some comfort from this thread in their scary/difficult times.
A fictional book about a young woman who’s kinda a perv? Not in an illegal way or anything but like someone who seems to have a carnal sex drive and maybe is a bit chaotic. Like Fleabag adjacent?? Preferably a female author lol!
I’m in need of a good book recommendation or two. My tbr pile is dreadfully small and could do with a bit of growth. I’d love to know what is a book that you read and fell in love with. A book you just want to gush about to anyone who’ll listen. I want to read a book that good! So gush to me, I want to listen, I want to read your favourite book!
A reverse metroidvania kinda. You know how Samus gets hit with a plot missile in every game to lose her core abilities at the start?
Is there something where something like that happens gradually? Where your character is deteriorating over the course of the game
Hey r/gamingsuggestions,
I’m looking for games that capture a similar feel to ARC Raiders — third-person action, sci-fi/post-apocalyptic setting, exploration, and fighting mechanical or large-scale enemies.
Important: I only want 100% single-player games.
That means:
Preferences (not mandatory):
If a game has any multiplayer component, even optional, it’s not what I’m looking for.
Thanks in advance — looking forward to your suggestions!
Yeah sorry forgot to add for PC!
it can be a game with super hard achivments something like a wolfenstein game or maybe just your personally favorite game that you think everyone should play. doesnt matter to me ill 100% it
If there are no such games I can accept mods. I want the loss to affect gameplay. Closest I can think is tainted grail fall of Avalon where you pet the monster that eats your arm.
I want a game of anything as long as my mistakes are punished and I’m not given a second chance, games where recovering from the mistake will take a lot longer than it would take to make another mistake
Thanks :)
Hi everyone, some days ago I started Expedition 33 and I realised why I love playing. I’ve played a lot of different games, but I’m sure I’ve missed some of the best games there are.
Please, if you see this, tell me which game I have to play. It doesn’t matter if it’s indie or AAA, new or 20 years old, I just want to play good games, thanks!
EDIT: I didn’t expect to have so many comments in 2 hours. Thanks everyone! Feel free to keep posting games, I’m glad so many of you answered.
Edit: If you can, please include: Trigger / key actions / Apps used / (optional) iCloud link.
I’m into automations and shortcuts (iOS, macOS, or anything similar) and I’m curious what people actually use in real life, not just in theory.
Do you have any automations that genuinely help day to day (smart reminders, organization, accessibility, smart home, work, etc.)?
If you use iOS Shortcuts with iCloud, do you share your shortcuts or use iCloud links? If you can, please drop examples (even simple ones) and any links you’re comfortable sharing, plus what makes them useful for you.
I’ve tested quite a few shortcuts and automations on iOS, and I have to admit that at first, I was a bit like a kid in a toy store. But over time, most of them end up gathering dust. They look “wow” on paper, but in day-to-day life, they don’t hold up.
In the end, I only kept the ones that truly save me time or lighten my mental load. Not the flashy stuff, but the ones that work quietly in the background.
Here are a few that have stayed part of my daily routine:
– Creating reminders automatically from a simple note. No need to type everything by hand anymore, it saves a lot of taps. – Smart date calculations for reminders, like handling working days or avoiding certain days of the week. A huge time saver. – Small contextual automations, the kind of “when I do this, then that happens”. Nothing too ambitious, just little helpers to avoid forgetting repetitive tasks.
Of course, iOS still has its limits — VPN control, background automations, certain restrictions… But with a bit of …
I was recently at a very cold bar and wished I could somehow benefit from my 15 Pro’s heating issues and warm my hands, so I made a shortcut to do that.

It uses the on-device LLM to generate a story, create and read notes, condense and expand text, etc. to burn through power for a set number of cycles. It plays the sound of a crackling fire while it runs and says “extinguished” when it finishes.
Needless to say, this is not good for your battery. Enjoy!
I created an “awesome” GitHub repository for shortcuts. Come share your shortcuts with the community. Feel free to contribute!
Hey everyone, just wanna share what I’ve learned about using the On-Device Apple Intelligence in Shortcuts since iOS 26 dropped.
For requirements, you’ll need:
The basics:
The action you’re looking for is “Use Model” - search for it in the actions list. It gives you access to Apple’s on-device AI model:

What doesn’t work well:
