Learned a couple of new 5A elements today. Thought I’d share.
Still need a name at some point.
I don’t even actually like tower tricks… but I made this one anyway. enjoy.
Edit, The trick is called “Parallel Rise”
Thanks for the suggestions everyone
EDIT2: I made a tutorial for this one. It can be found on youtube here: https://youtube.com/shorts/Ap0-iOMwvr4?feature=share

Interesting observation by “Barry’s Economics”: He says most CEO’s that Steven Bartlett interviews are ‘just lucky’ (based on scientific research that is) and all their advice is a load of shit that simply doesn’t work for other people. Also he accuses Bartlett of being a scammy telemarketeer with hidden agenda’s. What’s y’all opinion on this?
I’ve been trying to find more shows lately that aren’t part of the big podcast networks, but are just really solid, personality driven podcasts that feel a bit more under the radar.
Not necessarily tiny shows, but ones that still feel independent and have a strong point of view.
I tend to like:
• conversational / co-hosted shows with good chemistry
• topics around culture, internet, behavior, or “why do people do this?”
• episodes built around a clear question or debate
Some of my favorites in that lane are things like Search Engine / You’re Wrong About, but I’m looking for more that aren’t as widely known.
What would you recommend?
(bonus would be the ones that feel like they have a really engaged audience, those are always the best listens)
Hi all,
I’m looking for a podcast I can really get absorbed in. I’m a big fan of investigative journalism, doesn’t matter if it’s true crime, scams, cults, or scandals, as long as it’s well-researched
Here are some of the ones I’ve listened to and really enjoyed:
Scamanda
Twin Flames
Sweet Bobby
Kill List
Dirtbag Climber
Satanic Panic
Hunting Warhead
In the Dark (especially seasons 3 & 6)
Love, Janessa
Who Killed Emma
Teacher’s pet
Really hoping to find something else as interesting to listen
Normal Gossip is one of my absolute favourite podcasts. Are there any similar pods out there? Not looking for rage-bait aita content. Low stakes hot goss from regular people.
Any recs for a podcast that dives into stories about memoirs that ended up being fake or so edited they’re basically fiction? I stumble upon episodes about this now and then but I’d love any recs for podcasts dedicated to this ya’ll might have! TIA
I recently discovered this podcast. I have listened to the below episodes/series so far and enjoyed every single one. Very well researched and such a fantastic story teller.
Are there any other fans of this podcast on here?
Hate Thy Neighbor: Northern Ireland and the Troubles
Ghosts in the mountains: The soviet Afghan war
The Tokyo subway sarin attacks
The Gulf war 1991
Prophets dilemma the Sunni Shia split The Partition of India
They saw red - the Red Army’s horrific campaign of vengeance against Nazi Germany
I’m a court appointed advocate and I just started working with a 15 year old boy in a detention center. He absolutely loves reading. Our second visit I took 3 books for him, but he had already read 2⁄3 of the ones I brought. He said he likes ‘urban stories’ and books about the cartel, mafia, gangs. Not necessarily stories glamorizing that life, but more so honest portrayals of it. One of his favorite books is The Black Hand about the life of Rene ‘Boxer’ Enriquez. He’s read Monster: The Autobiography of an LA Gang Member. He’s reading The Cartel and Trust No Man series.
I took him Monster by Walter Dean Myers, Long Way Down (also because he loves rap and writing lyrics so I thought that might scratch that part of his brain), and No Country for Old Men. Monster and Long Way Down I thought might be a bit low for him since this kid is very intelligent. No Country for Old Men was my ‘dark horse’ pick. It’s one of my personal favorites and I thought the fast-pace and moral questions …
I do like sad things because they’re cathartic. Where I can feel less alone. I am very sad and very angry. Not really opposed to happy stuff if it doesn’t seem cheap and delusional (which I know, sounds stupid when happiness is sincere. I am just jaded). I would just like to read, please.
Edit: All, I am very thankful for all your help. Someone had left a comment on this post, telling me that I “would be investigated in the next year.” And that I was a “delusional disgrace.” It seems that they had accessed my posts, somehow. The posts that I have hidden, somewhat, so I can pretend to be loved, and that people can look past the darkness in me, without being scared and leaving early. Well, perhaps you should leave: I throw up my hands. It seems that I have been lying to you about who I am, leaving comments which so dearly, I have tried to push through some sort of love and tenderness in my rotten little heart. I am feeling destructive today. The dream …
I’m looking for a reading list of nonfiction books to improve my general knowledge, and become more well-rounded.
I’m interested in the basics of everything: psychology, economics, history, etc.
Thank you so much!
My parents are very strict when it comes to what I can and can’t read so I’m really struggling to find something that I will be able to read and also enjoy. Their rules are no lgbtq+ characters, themes, etc, no excessive violence, and no excessive sexual scenes. My favourite genres fantasy and fiction, but I’ve also been enjoying some literary fiction recently. Recently I’ve enjoyed Song of Achilles, Sunrise on the Reaping, and The Only One Left. I will add that all those books have stuff my parents wouldn’t approve of, and I or my friends have bought them for me. Their main rule they really have a problem with is anything lgbtq+
Edit: Since people are asking, I’m 17. So I’ll be out of the house soon when I go to college. Also any book that comes into the house (by their knowledge) is extensively researched. They don’t just look at the cover of a book and judge, they’ll spend 15 minutes researching everything about a book. Thank you for all the suggestions so far! I’ve also seen …
pls suggest me the weirdest book you’ve ever read —and don’t forget to describe what made it weird and why you think it’s worth a read— thanks in advance!
I feel like I know the obvious answers would be work by Kazuo Ishiguro, Barbara Kingsolver, etc. that I’ve seen on lists like these. There are the obvious and often mentioned ones and others that are unsung and have flown under the radar but deserve some notice. I’m actually looking for both and wondering what other readers think will end up on a classics list one day.
Hey everyone, I’m going to be completely honest. I’ve made some poor decisions recently, and my brain is just stuck on an endless loop of overthinking. I really need a solid distraction right now to give my mind a break. I’m looking for a long, deeply immersive game where I can just completely sink into the world and its characters. For context on what I usually enjoy: I absolutely loved Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, and GTA. I’m not looking for interactive movie type games where you mostly just watch like Detroit: Become Human. I also tried The Last of Us and it just didn’t click with me. I need actual, engaging gameplay and a world I can freely explore. I’ve been seeing a lot about Crimson Desert since it just dropped. For those who are playing it. Is it the kind of massive time sink I’m looking for? Will it pull me in? If not, what other games would you strongly recommend to just completely lose myself in for the next few weeks? …
Excluding survival games because I think it’s more likely to be able to just go anywhere in something like that, I mean something with an obvious story. I’d argue something like Skyrim or botw.
Sometimes you are playing a rpg and in the beginning you are like doing 5 damage to a 30 hp monster, so, in theory, you should kill it in 6 turns. At the end of that game, you are doing 1000 damage to a 30k hp monster, and when you add other mechanics, you still kill that thing in like 6 turns. Your sword looks cool, the animation of your skills are cool, number big, but your train is still on its rails, rails made by the game developers.
Are there games that actually allow you to be broken when you build it correctly? Let’s say you get to the final boss and kill it with a single blow.
I’ve recently gotten into DoA6 and tbh the gameplay is pretty solid but the girls and outfit is an appeal i didnt think i’d enjoy this much. And having played nier for similair reasons i was wondering if there are other games like this for pc?
Mostly looking for a solid/ good gameplay game with hot women/ outfits on the side (or as appeal). It doesnt have to be free, but preferably less heavy monetization than DoA6.
Would love to hear if theres anything you think of!
I am so lonely
Looking for a game to play for 1-2 hours a night. It can be singleplayer or multiplayer as long as i can play solo. im open to anything except souls like

Hey! I’ve been wanting a simple way to record meetings on my Mac without installing heavy apps. Couldn’t find one that handled multiple displays well, so I built my own using Shortcuts.
It captures all your displays at once, organizes everything by date, lets you name meetings with participants and topic, and can compress recordings to save space afterward. No apps to install, just four shortcuts and you are ready.
You can find updates, documentations, and discussions on the GitHub Page and direct links to shortcuts below.

Would love to hear what you think!
Hey folks! I’m Jack, an independent iOS developer and music lover. You may have seen me post here in the past about my apps, such as Iconic, an icon themer for Shortcuts. I wanted a way to make my wallpaper reflect my favorite music, so I built Opus - Music Wallpaper. It integrates with Shortcuts to automatically set your wallpaper each day.
Today I just released a huge update for Opus adding support for iPad and Last.fm. Opus turns your music history into personalized wallpapers, and now with Last.fm support, you can now use the app even if you aren’t an Apple Music user. It offers a grid-style collage for free, and if you want to unlock more customization, there are other styles such as vinyl record layouts. You can filter by a specific playlist, top tracks, or recent plays, and Opus generates a wallpaper from the album art.
To celebrate this update, I’m temporarily discounting Opus Pro Lifetime to $10 USD through the weekend. If you have any thoughts or …
So I made an anti theft shortcut that turns the volume all the way up and uses Siri to say that the phone is being stolen. It takes videos and photos with both cameras and dims the screen then takes a screenshot. It also enables cell data. Here’s the link:

that’s it, just needed to get the upvote momentum for devs to seriously consider this. help me out!!!
Hi everyone.
I created a shortcut workflow that lets me toggle between Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode on any of my AirPods — no matter which pair is currently connected — using a single gesture (iPhone back tap, action button, or control center).
My Setup
I own AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max, and I switch between them throughout the day. Instead of managing three separate shortcuts or fumbling with the stem press-and-hold, I wanted one unified toggle that “just works” regardless of which pair I’m wearing.
Note: If you only own one AirPods model, you can use only Step 1 and ignore the automation/master shortcut parts.
How It Works
Step 1: Create Individual Toggle Shortcuts (One Per Device)
Each AirPods model needs its own toggle shortcut that reads the current mode from a file and switches to the opposite mode.

Here’s the structure for each shortcut (e.g., “Toggle AirPods Pro”):
