Been a “want to learn” since I started throwing and learned brother slack. This is truly a strange move and coming from a card magic background, it has kind of a “knack” meaning that you can’t perfectly explain what needs to be done.

Always amazing seeing Yoyo performers do their sets - even more amazing to see it in front of 1500 screaming wrestling fans - Ayumu Harada from CLYW and Takumi Yasumoto from YoYoRec do a pretty incredible routine in front of a sizable audience - that offstring throw would be tough to execute with out 3000 eyes watching you - was incredible to see in person!

Haven’t thrown a yoyo in about 3 years, looking to get back into it you guys have any recommendations? Any thing new on the market and well received by players? Lmk yall
Blair Braverman has a new podcast called What to Carry, What to Burn about historical survival stories. She’s a really empathetic storyteller. The first story was 2 episodes and was about a woman who was conned into joining an expedition. The second story is about a group of men who survived by being really great people. I recommend it!
I’ll be driving solo for 8 hours and I’m looking for podcasts to binge. Send your favorites - interested in comedy, true crime, history, science/health, but will take any recommendations! Thanks!
I’m in the mood to absolutely terrify myself, so I need recommendations.
What is the scariest podcast you’ve ever listened to, and more importantly, what is the single scariest episode from that podcast?
I’m looking for episodes that genuinely stuck with you after listening. Creepy, disturbing, unsettling, paranormal, true crime, psychological horror, unexplained, whatever. I want the episodes that made you sleep with one eye open or question listening alone at night.
Some of my favorites include:
-Radio Rental (#1 honestly but it’s hit and miss now. But I still listen to every episode)
-Spooked (that time warp saloon story is my Roman Empire)
-You Can See Me In the Dark
-Rattled & Shook
-Otherworld
- Unnerved
Im sure I’m forgetting some but i think that gives you a good idea.
Bonus points if you briefly say why it freaked you out (without major spoilers)
Please, y’all, ruin my evening : )
After having listened to hundreds of mainstream podcasts, I am looking to show some love towards smaller creators and would love to create a living list of excellent small podcasts (less than 50 ish reviews, not monetized). What are your recommendations? Why do you like it? If anyone ends up listening to recommendations in this thread, please come back and comment your thoughts! Please include a brief genre/synopsis.
Thanks in advance!
Looking for weird podcasts that will leave me scratching my head. Especially those that are just about really strange things (not necessarily crime or anything).
Hi Folks,
I had a pretty rough/stressful day and currently, whenever that happens, I’m feeling overwhelmed by a lot of my usual „easy-going knowledge & drama content“ bc it sometimes is too fast paced, emotionally draining or loud.
I’m particularly fond of lower voices when I’m in need of decompression. No drama or politics please. I like fantasy and DnD but I would prefer a podcast with two people, so bedtime stories or similar might be not a good fit.
Thanks in advance for your help! 💕
Her husband used to work offshore in the oil field, but retired early (in his 40s). She used to read when he was out of town, but lately can only read when he’s busy playing video games. She’s coming to stay with me while she gets herself mentally prepared to re-enter the world as a single woman.
As I said, she’s a huge fan of the period of Jane Eyre, and loves the author Charlotte Bronte. We like polar opposite books and movies, so I haven’t a clue what to get her. Oh, she is also a super fan of Anne Rice, and has read the book Little Women a million times (to give you a better idea of what she’s into).
edit: you’re all so amazing! thank you for your help! I got her 6 books. she said she’s coming to stay with me in a few weeks. I told her I have a car for her to use (an old jeep wrangler) and her own place to stay (a really nice camper in my backyard that’s hooked up to electricity and plumbing).
I’m in the mood for something genuinely heavy and emotionally devastating. Not just “sad” but the kind of book that leaves you empty for a while after finishing it.
Open to any genre as long as it’s well written. I like stories with loneliness, hopelessness, tragedy, or characters slowly falling apart. Psychological stuff is good too.
I don’t know if this genre of book has a name already but I’ve dubbed it “white women nonsense” which is a litfic book that centers around a (usually wealthy and privileged) unlikable MC who puts herself in an unnecessary situation and makes the consequences of that situation everyone else’s problem.
Books like Yellowface, Yesteryear, My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Fruit Fly by Josh Silver etc. I haven’t read Big Swiss but from the description I imagine it fits that genre as well. Would love to know if y’all have any recommendations of books with similar themes!
I recently finished a few books that felt entertaining but forgettable, and now I’m looking for something that genuinely leaves an impact. Recommend me a book that absolutely destroyed you emotionally or mentally in the best way. Any genre is welcome—fiction, psychological, philosophical, horror, anything unforgettable.
I’m having a “book hangover” after finishing Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air in one day.
What are some other books like this that you loved and could not put down? Nonfiction
I’m 30f, a total atheist, who only ever reads spicy fantasy with female leads so I’m at a total loss of how to go about finding western & crime books with no sexual themes that won’t offend a retired pastor.
I’m totally okay with censoring things like sex/swearing/“saying god’s name in vain” myself as long as I’m not having to censor things every other page or entire chapters.
Thank you in advanced!
Edit: I am so grateful for all of these recommendations! I’ll go through all of them as soon as I get a chance. I’m so …
What are some good Overwhelmingly Positive games that not everyone knows about but still have a decent amount of reviews like 1000+. Some examples would be Northern Journey, Empires of the Undergrowth, Fear and Hunger or just anything interesting
Been thinking of games to play (I play mostly rpg /action games but I play anything tbh ) and have been wondering what are your favorite games that you would say someone must try
In most games, when you’re fighting a boss, the boss hits at full strength and moves at full speed right up until his hit points reach 0 and then he keels over. Are there any games that try to model damage accurately, and as you chip away at a boss, they slow down and fight worse because you’ve been gradually slicing them up like deli meat? Doesn’t need to be very accurate (like one shot kills), just a bit more immersion.
Like kingdom come deliverance or dark souls games where you start weak and become a monster
It could be anything where you build and manage stuff - city builder, survival base-building, tycoon, colony management, farming, or whatever else. I just want it to be something you personally play and really like and that you hardly ever see anyone talk about online.
Hey, recently I’ve been minding to create a shortcut that we could use with my girlfriend, and I’m just curious about what the community has already done.
Feel free to share anything, I’m really curious on how shortcuts can be used in a relationship!
Edit: it can also be for couples that don’t see each other everyday, for example shortcuts/automations when not being together.
Discovered a method that solves two limitations people always complain about in Shortcuts:
How it works:
Email automations in Shortcuts run immediately with no confirmation required. So if anything can send an email — a server, a script, a cron job — it can trigger any Shortcut you want.
Set up msmtp on a Linux machine (10 minute setup, sends via Gmail):
# trigger.sh
printf "Subject: cmd:%s\nFrom: %s\nTo: %s\n\n" \
"$1" "$EMAIL" "$EMAIL" | msmtp "$EMAIL"
On iPhone — one automation per command:
cmd:mood-checkUse cases:
trigger.sh mood-checkThe server controls the when and why. …
Hello guys, long time no see!
Since I released Repo Installer++ a year ago I didn’t release any more shortcuts, but today I finally released a brand new shortcut called **AppleInjector**!
This shortcut allows you to sign ipa files with your certificate and much more!
This shortcut is also good for new users that recently entered the world of iOS sideloading and don’t know where to start, this shortcut should allow these users to learn about this!
You can get more info/download here:
