The short I’m trying to make activates with the “hey Siri” command. I want my phone to make a beeping sound or some sort of sound when I’m trying to find it. This shortcut needs to work when the phone is locked as well
The show has been out since December and started off as a show where 3 of the stars (Charlie, Glenn and Rob) sit down and talk about each episode of the show. Seemed like FX forced content as an accompaniment to the tv show.
However, overtime, the show has been morphing into something really special. It’s unapologetically always sunny in podcast form. The hosts talk about their real lives but with the cadence of the show itself. A lot of times they barely touch on the show and talk about getting into fights, finding dead bodies while filming, crazy actors they’ve worked with and industry stuff that’s super interesting.
Best of all, they seem to really like each other. After 15 years, their chemistry is on point. It’s undeniable how much everyone loves Charlie and after the last episode, where they added a video element, You can see why. That dude brightens up a room. Shout out to Meghan, tech ops, who brings the outside laughter.
I’m not a diehard always sunny fan but I look forward …
Hello everyone. I, like many others, have been turning away from Rogan. Not for his viewpoints, but because I’m sick of the culture war stuff. I was a big fan of his older episodes and am looking for stuff similar. I really enjoyed the following guests, and would love suggestions to shows similar in style: Brian Cox, Randall Carlson, Graham Hancock, Brian Greene, Forrest Gallante, etc. Animals, space stuff, history stuff, etc.
I’m not a big fan of crude humor but sometimes it’s welcomed. Just need something to lighten the mood sometimes
I’m curious to see the communities perspective on the increasing number of ‘podcasts’ using video. While I consume plenty of video conent as well, podcasts to me were always about dedication to the audio experience. I’ve had quite a few podcasts switch over to video now (a lot on the Headgum network) and while they still run audio feeds, there are always visual gags that are just lost in audio, and more reliance on physical cues. That’s fine and dandy but it’s not something I want to listen to on my commute or on a walk, or while I’m working, etc.
I have no complaints of lack of audio-only content, there is plenty out there. I just think if video is required for a full experience, then it’s really not a podcast at all, it’s a different medium. Do y’all agree or am I just yelling at people to get off my lawn?
Any that talk about self-love and mental illness
Edit: thank you everyone for the recommendations!! I’ll check them out
Long story short I’m 21, my dog is 14 so I grew up with him. We found out a week ago that he has cancer, not treatable and has 3-9 months. He hasn’t eaten for a day and it took me several attempts for the first time to get him to take his painkillers which has led me to have a quiet breakdown on the couch. Just give me something to take my mind off things or something profound that will help me cope with the situation, I don’t know at this point.
This fucking sucks and thank you if you take the time to suggest anything
Pretty much the title. I sympathize a lot with the movement and want to do my part but I feel very ignorant about this topic and don’t know where to start.
Thank you!
I have breast cancer and am looking for pleasant reads during chemo. Like the Schitt’s Creek or Great British Bake Off of books. Minor conflict is fine, but no murder or death and everything is cozy. Like the parts of Parable of the Sower when they are setting up their little community. Or the parts of Harry Potter where they are just in class lol.
Info about me: I will try any genre, but I tend towards literary fiction, mystery, and sci-fi/fantasy generally. I have a hard time with romance. I like mysteries where the protagonist has to use their intelligence to solve a problem. My favorite series is The Craft Sequence by Max Gladstone. I also like horror reimaginings like A Dowry of Blood or Lovecraft Country, but those aren’t very feel good.
I don’t mean red pill alpha stuff.
As a child of a single parent, I grew up without a strong father figure in my life.
Is there any way to give me guidance on how to be a decent, responsible, in control and confident man?
Hey everyone, I currently teach in the 5th grade and am looking for books that represent our black students while not being about racism/discrimination/violence. It seems like a disproportionate amount of novels with black protagonists for this age group have something to do with the aforementioned subjects. Our black students are currently learning in depth about slavery in history class, so I would like for them to have a break from constantly re-living bigotry in this country.
Does anybody know of any adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy or books of any genre with black protagonists? My students are strong readers so they can read above their age level, but I do need to be mindful of books with any sexual or violent content however since they are only in 5th grade.
Hey everyone a new rule is going into effect: No NFT, Play 2 Earn, or Blockchain game suggestions.
So far posts about these types of games have been removed under rule 3 since by definition users have a vested interest in their game’s popularity in order to see a profit. These posts aren’t about suggesting good games but about trying to increase the value of their stake in a game. But still some people argue when they get banned over promoting these games so to save the headache now we have a clear-cut rule to point towards.
There’s also the fact that these types of games are glorified pyramid schemes which you can learn more about here: https://youtu.be/UKzup7XDyq8
If you don’t like this rule, too bad, NFTs and blockchain games in their current state are a scam. If that upsets you go post somewhere else.
Now for the second point of business, I’m looking to recruit a few extra mods since I have less and less time to moderate this subreddit. I’m …
My favorite genre over the past few years has shifted from open world rpgs to walking simulators. I really love a good story with either nonexistent or very light combat elements. I feel these games tell stories that you just don’t find in AAA games, for the most part. But, I’m starting to run out of ideas on what to play since it seems I’ve already experienced most of the ones on my list. Recently, I played the forgotten city and it really scratched that itch. Some of the games I’ve played that I feel fit the description are:
Soma
The Talos Principal
Firewatch
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture
Observation
Tacoma
The Forgotten City
I’m also open to other genres as long as they have a truly compelling story, first and foremost.
Edit: I just wanna say thank you guys for all the suggestions. I didn’t expect so many comments. Went from not knowing what to play to having too much to play (a great problem to have). Thank you again!
I played Borederland series and Remnants From Ashes and had tons of fun with them. I couldn’t find similar options other than GaaS games which mostly bad or time consuming. Also dose not necessarily to be a “shooter”
I want to play a pompous twat, who spends the whole playthrough reminding poor savages with sub century life expectancy how superior elven wines, weapons and fabulous hairstyles are.
Bonus points if you can be extremely racist to Dwarfs, the smelly midgets.
I’m thinking games like Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Outer Wilds, Sayonara Wild Hearts, or Thumper. Not necessarily of those genres or anything but just games where there is just such a strong commitment to polish and identity. Like the devs knew exactly what they wanted to make and they made it to a T.
I’m not exactly how else to explain it. It’s kind of a “feel” sort of thing, I suppose. These are just consistently some of my favorite games since there kind of a surprise when they come along.
Even extra, extra bonus points if it’s fully (and well) voice acted!
